2015 NFL Mock Draft: Round 2

  1. New York Jets: Rashad Greene, WR, Florida State
    The Jets reached for a bunch of receivers in the 2014 NFL Draft. Perhaps they’ll take one this year who satisfies proper value.

  2. Jacksonville Jaguars: Nick O’Leary, TE, Florida State
    Marcedes Lewis has been a huge disappointment since signing his contract, so the Jaguars need an upgrade. Lewis, 31 right after the 2015 NFL Draft, will be due nearly $7 million in the final season of his contract, so Jacksonville may cut him next offseason.

  3. Oakland Raiders: Michael Bennett, DT, Ohio State
    The Raiders added Antonio Smith via free agency, but they need more of a long-term solution at defensive tackle.

  4. Minnesota Vikings: Jalen Mills, CB, LSU
    Here’s some help for Minnesota’s secondary. The Vikings need to make sure this area is as strong as possible, given that they have to go up against Aaron Rodgers, Jay Cutler and Matthew Stafford twice each every year.



  5. Dallas Cowboys: Cody Prewitt, S, Ole Miss
    The Cowboys surrendered the third-most passing yards in a single year in 2013, yet they didn’t do anything to improve their secondary this offseason.

  6. New York Giants: Josh Shaw, CB, USC
    Jerry Reese likes to draft needs in advance, so he may look at a cornerback, given that Prince Amukamara will be entering his contract year after this season.

  7. Carolina Panthers: Mike Davis, RB, South Carolina
    There’s a good chance four running backs are chosen in the first round next spring. Mike Davis is one of them, but I just couldn’t fit him in. The Panthers won’t complain, as they need a long-term solution at the position.

  8. Cleveland Browns: Shawn Oakman, DE/DT, Baylor
    Ahtyba Rubin had an inconsistent 2013 campaign. If he plays similarly this upcoming season, the Browns may opt to let him walk as a free agent the following spring. In that case, they’ll be in the market for a defensive line upgrade.

  9. Buffalo Bills: Tre Jackson, G, Florida State
    The Bills may have to find some offensive line help for E.J. Manuel because he needs a ton of help to succeed.

  10. Miami Dolphins: Denzel Perryman, ILB, Miami
    It’s a bit odd that the Dolphins didn’t address their linebacking corps until the middle of Day 3 considering the need they have at the position.

  11. Detroit Lions: Ty Montgomery, WR, Stanford
    Just a hunch, but Golden Tate is not going to pan out in Detroit. Regardless, the Lions will look into adding another receiver.

  12. Tennessee Titans: Jordan Jenkins, OLB, Georgia
    The Titans have to find pieces for their 3-4 early on this time, which includes an edge rusher.



  13. Kansas City Chiefs: Henry Anderson, DE/DT, Stanford
    The Chiefs lost Tyson Jackson this offseason. They seemingly replaced him with Vance Walker, but I’m not sure the former Raider is a good scheme fit.

  14. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Hroniss Grasu, C, Oregon
    The Buccaneers signed Evan Dietrich-Smith, but he can play guard in addition to the center position. Tampa could slide him out if it wants to bolster one of the guard spots.

  15. Houston Texans: Carl Davis, DE/DT, Iowa
    The Texans had a lot of needs, so they waited until the sixth round to try to replace the departed Antonio Smith. Here’s a better solution.

  16. Washington Redskins: Karl Joseph, S, West Virginia
    More secondary help. The Redskins signed Ryan Clark this offseason, but he’s not any sort of long-term solution. He may not even be something positive for the near future, considering that he turns 35 in October.

  17. Cincinnati Bengals: Bryce Petty, QB, Baylor
    The Bengals may want to move on from Andy Dalton if he struggles down the stretch again. A.J. McCarron does not have starting potential, so Cincinnati may want to find a quarterback who does.

  18. Atlanta Falcons: Jaelen Strong, WR, Arizona State
    Roddy White will be a 33-year-old free agent next spring. Even if the Falcons retain him, they may want to bring in a long-term solution across from Julio Jones.

  19. Arizona Cardinals: Connor Cook, QB, Michigan State
    Carson Palmer’s successor? The Cardinals drafted Logan Thomas, but they may want to go in a different direction if they don’t feel as though Thomas is progressing.

  20. Chicago Bears: Wayne Lyons, CB, Stanford
    The Bears need help all over their defense, including the cornerback position. Charles Tillman has been re-signed, but only to a 1-year deal.

  21. Baltimore Ravens: DeVante Parker, WR, Louisville
    I have a feeling the Ravens will regret the Steve Smith signing. If so, they’ll know that they have to seriously upgrade the receiver position next spring.

  22. San Diego Chargers: Corey Robinson, OT, South Carolina
    King Dunlap has been a pleasant surprise for the Chargers, but he’ll be a free agent next spring. A replacement will be needed if he walks.

  23. St. Louis Rams: Dorial Green-Beckham, WR, Oklahoma
    Dorial Green-Beckham is a top-10 talent, but character issues will drop him. The Rams like to take chances on troubled players, so maybe they’ll consider him in the second round.

  24. Seattle Seahawks: Josue Matias, G, Florida State
    The Seahawks just used a second-round pick on a tackle to replace Breno Giacomini. Perhaps they’ll take a second-round guard on a new left guard if James Carpenter leaves via free agency next spring.

  25. Philadelphia Eagles: Benardrick McKinney, ILB, Mississippi State
    Benardrick McKinney isn’t a Pac-12 player, but he can help Philadelphia by improving the interior of its defense. The Eagles were interested in some linebackers prior to the 2014 NFL Draft.

  26. Pittsburgh Steelers: Trey Flowers, DE/OLB, Arkansas
    The Steelers aren’t big fans of picking edge rushers early – despite their 2013 first-rounder – but they may need to do that again, especially if Jarvis Jones continues to struggle.

  27. Indianapolis Colts: Jordan Richards, S, Stanford
    Here’s more secondary help for the Colts, who need to upgrade this area if they want to compete with the Broncos and Patriots.

  28. New Orleans Saints: Marcus Peters, CB, Washington
    The Saints will need to have three good cornerbacks at their disposal, so even if Stanley Jean-Baptiste plays well, the position could be addressed in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft.



  29. Green Bay Packers: D.J. Humphries, OT, Florida
    Bryan Bulaga will be hitting free agency next spring, so the Packers may look into taking a tackle if Derek Sherrod doesn’t show signs of improvement.

  30. New England Patriots: Laken Tomlinson, G, Duke
    Dan Connolly will essentially be a 33-year-old free agent next spring, so Bill Belichick may want to draft a guard unless he finds a lesser-rated Rutgers or Florida player.

  31. Denver Broncos: Eric Kendricks, ILB, UCLA
    This might be an offseason too late in terms of Peyton Manning’s window, but here’s an upgrade at the middle linebacker position, which is a big problem area for Denver.

  32. San Francisco 49ers: Ben Koyack, TE, Notre Dame
    Jim Harbaugh loves to utilize multi-tight end sets. Vernon Davis will be a 31-year-old free agent following the 2015 season.
