Prospect Summary:

Sorsby started out his college career at Indiana and was a backup in 2022. In 2023, he saw some action, completing 57 percent of his passes for 1,587 yards with 15 touchdowns passing, four rushing, and five interceptions. After that season, he transferred to Cincinnati. In 2024, he completed 64 percent of his passes for 2,813 yards with 18 touchdowns and seven interceptions. In 2025 with Cincinnati, Sorsby completed 62 percent of his passes for 2,800 yards with 27 touchdowns and five interceptions. He ran for nine touchdowns in each of his seasons with the Bearcats. Sorsby transferred to Texas Tech after the season, but was suspended because of his issues with gambling. Sorsby had a gambling addiction that caused him to go into rehab, and he bet on his own team in the past. After successfully suing to be play, other teams in the Big 12 conference revolted and the controversy caused Sorsby to seek entry into the NFL’s Supplemental Draft.

For the NFL, Dart is an instinctive passer who is tough and competitive. He is a gritty gunslinger who can loft passes downfield with impressive ball placement. He makes accurate passes with precision strikes to hit receivers in stride and lead them for yards after the catch. While Dart does not have a powerful cannon, he has a quality arm and can make all the throws. Dart is aggressive in pushing the ball downfield and attacking the secondary at all levels.

Sorsby adds a mobility and running threat element that is tough to defend. He is a good athlete in space with deceptive speed to accelerate into the second level. If defenses don’t account for them, he can rip them on designed runs and is a nice red zone weapon with his legs. Sorsby can escape the rush and is able to extend plays with his feet while throwing well on the run.

There are things for Sorsby to improve for the NFL. He could stand to get faster at working through his progressions and working off his primary read. He needs to improve his field vision and ability to read coverage. Sometimes Sorsby can be too much of a gunslinger and get loose with his fundamentals. However, Sorsby definitely has the arm talent, passing skill, running ability, and size to be a potential starting quarterback in the NFL.

In a survey of team sources, they feel that Sorsby could go for a mid to late-round pick in the supplemental draft, but he could easily go undrafted, as a lot of owners and general managers will be opposed to adding a player who had a gambling addiction that led to him betting on his own team. Sorsby will have to start his pro career as a backup and prove that he can be a starter.

Prospect Comparison:

Ryan Tannehill. Sorsby reminds me of Tannehill coming out of Texas A&M.
