2027 NFL Scouting Report: Zabien Brown

Prospect Summary:

Alabama was a factory for NFL cornerback talent under Nick Saban, and while Saban is gone, they have a loaded secondary in 2026 with multiple future pros at cornerback and safety. Brown returns as their No. 1 corner and he could be a rising prospect if he builds on his underclassmen seasons.

There is no doubt that Brown has some strengths as a player that make him a candidate to receive a starter grade from NFL scouts. He is a tough defender who is very physical. Brown battles receivers with a gritty style of play and he really competes. Brown fights for position, disrupts their routes with jams, and times his breakups well. Brown is a willing tackler and is very good as a contributor against the run. Brown looks well-rounded in being able to play press man, off man, or zone coverage.

Brown could stand to improve his ability to stay with receivers coming out of their break. Improving his route recognition could help him with his reaction skills. While Brown has quality speed, he is not elite. Brown has some ball skills, but he also has had a few dropped interceptions.

One friend from the Alabama program said that Brown reminded them of Trevon Diggs, and he reminds this analyst of Terrion Arnold with the Crimson Tide.
