Rank: 29 Previously: 25
The Titans actually have some decent pieces around Cam Ward with Wan’Dale Robinson and Carnell Tate joining the team. However, the offensive line is still suspect, while the defense still has plenty of holes even though some upgrades were added like John Franklin-Myers and Jermaine Johnson.

Walt’s Team Needs Assessment

Needs
Cam Ward had a rough start to his rookie year, but he improved as the season progressed. He’ll begin his second season with a new head coach and perhaps better talent around him.
  • Three Cornerbacks: The Titans had the worst group of cornerbacks in the NFL. They need an entirely new group of players at the position. Signed Alontae Taylor and Cordale Flott
  • Two Edge Rushers: Tennessee sorely missed Harold Landry last year. The team couldn’t generate any pressure on the quarterback, and it’ll only get worse if Arden Key leaves via free agency. Signed Jacob Martin; traded for Solomon Thomas
  • Wide Receiver: Calvin Ridley continues to disappoint. Chimere Dike showed some promise, but he doesn’t profile as a No. 1 receiver, which is what Ward desperately needs. Signed Wan’Dale Robinson
  • Center: Center was the weakest link on Tennessee’s offensive line last year, which is saying a lot. Lloyd Cushenberry was one of the worst starting centers in the NFL in 2025.
  • Offensive Tackle: Dan Moore was a pedestrian left tackle last year. Given how long Ward holds the ball, the Titans will need a better blind-side protector.
  • Linebacker: The Titans found a star at linebacker in Cedric Gray, but they don’t really have anything else at the position.
  • Guard: Kevin Zeitler was terrific last year, but he’s an impending free agent who will need to be re-signed or replaced.
  • Defensive Tackle: Jeffery Simmons and T’Vondre Sweat are terrific, but the third defensive lineman, Sebastian Joseph-Day, is entering free agency. Signed John Franklin-Myers and Jordan Elliott
  • Kicker: Joey Slye is coming off a decent year, but he’s also set to hit free agency. Re-signed Joey Slye

Walt’s 2026 NFL Draft – Overall Team Grade and Selection Grades

Draft Review
Walt’s Draft Grade: A- Grade
Walt’s Grade Summary
Carnell Tate wasn’t the best player on the board at No. 4, but he was one of the two best players, along with Jordyn Tyson, who happened to be available to help Ward. Tate doesn’t project as a No. 1 receiver, but he’ll be a big upgrade across from Robinson. This pick undoubtedly made Ward happy, though I think selecting Tyson would have been better.

The Titans weren’t done in the first round. Many expected them to draft an edge rusher at No. 4, but they did so at No. 31 with Keldric Faulk, who inexplicably fell to them. Faulk was expected to be chosen in the teens, so he was an amazing value for the Titans, who needed to bolster their weak pass rush.

Tennessee wasn’t done helping Ward. It spent fifth-round picks on a tackle and a talented running back. A center was added later. This was part of a big third day in which the Titans secured three picks that scored A- or better. Tennessee’s Day 3 haul solidified its strong draft class.

Draft Picks / Prospect Links
Pick 4
B
Carnell Tate, WR, Ohio State
Carnell Tate, WR, Ohio State
WR Ohio State
Wow, this is a surprise! The Titans really wanted to help Cam Ward, so it makes sense with Jeremiyah Love off the board. Tate over Jordyn Tyson is very interesting because Tyson is considered more of a No. 1 than Tate. I would’ve gone with Tyson, but I can’t fault the Titans for drafting a receiver.
Pick 31
A+
Keldric Faulk, DE, Auburn
Keldric Faulk, DE, Auburn
DE Auburn
The Titans began the night by screwing up our draft prop on Jordyn Tyson, but at least they ended the night on a high note. Keldric Faulk has superb talent and could have easily been chosen in the teens or maybe even No. 12. The Titans don’t have an edge rush, so the Titans are filling a huge need with a prospect with insane upside.
Pick 60
B+
Anthony Hill Jr., LB, Texas
Anthony Hill Jr., LB, Texas
LB Texas
The Titans have defensive needs all over the place. One of those needs was for a linebacker who can cover well. Hill fits the bill, and he makes sense for this range in the middle-late part of Round 2. The Titans traded up, but I wasn’t optimistic that Hill was going to make it to them in Round 3.
Pick 142
A-
Fernando Carmona, OT, Arkansas
OT Arkansas
Rnk: 87
Fernando Carmona is a tough run blocker with some upside in pass protection. He was a potential third-round pick, so perhaps Carmona can develop into a starter who can displace one of the weak Tennessee tackles.
Pick 165
A
Nicholas Singleton, RB, Penn State
Nicholas Singleton, RB, Penn State
RB Penn State
Nicholas Singleton is a dynamic back who can go the distance whenever he touches the ball. He has an injury issue, which is why he slipped in the draft. This is great value for the Titans, who need a better long-term back.
Pick 184
C-
Jackie Marshall, DT, Baylor
DT Baylor
Rnk: 441
Jackie Marshall is an undersized and slow defensive lineman who happens to be a tweener. I didn’t have him being draftable, so the Titans could have done better than this.
Pick 194
A-
Patrick Coogan, C, Indiana
C Indiana
Rnk: 490
Pat Coogan is limited in athleticism, but he’s a tough run blocker who has been reliable in pass protection. I had Coogan as a fifth-round prospect, so I like that the Titans are getting him in this range and trying to improve Cam Ward’s protection.
Pick 225
B
Jaren Kanak, TE, Oklahoma
TE Oklahoma
Rnk: 0
Jaren Kanak is incredibly fast and doesn’t drop any passes. He’s small for a tight end, however, and struggles with blocking. The Titans needed another tight end with Chig Okonkwo gone, and the Titans seem to have potentially added a decent threat for Cam Ward.
