Walt’s Latest Jaguars Power Ranking
Updated 5/13/2026

Rank: 10
Previously: 5
The Jaguars finished hot, so perhaps that’ll carry over into 2026. Jakobi Meyers was such an important presence for Trevor Lawrence because Lawrence has never had a professional receiver in his career. He’s played with talented receivers, but all of them were either mistake-prone or fragile. The defense, meanwhile, made great strides. It must be noted, however, that Devin Lloyd departed, leaving a huge void in the middle of the stop unit.

Walt’s Team Needs Assessment
Needs
The Jaguars were one of the best teams in the NFL during the second half of the season. Trevor Lawrence improved by leaps and bounds, while the defense was ranked in the top 10.
- Cornerback: The secondary is the weak point of Jacksonville’s offense. Greg Newsome was acquired, but didn’t live up to the hype. Re-signed Montaric Brown
- Safety: Safety is also a weak point on this roster. Andrew Wingard is an impending free agent, but he needed to be upgraded anyway.
- Running Back: Travis Etienne is coming off a great year, but he’s an impending free agent who will need to be re-signed or replaced.
- Defensive Tackle: This has been a problematic position for the Jaguars ever since Calais Campbell departed. A new starter is needed next to Arik Armstead.
- Guard: Patrick Mekari was the weak link on the offensive line last year, so the Jaguars may want to look into an upgrade.
- Linebacker: Devin Lloyd was one of the best linebackers in the NFL last year, but he’ll be a free agent come March, so he’ll need to be re-signed or replaced.
- Defensive End Depth: The Jaguars could use some better edge-rushing depth behind their two talented starters.
Walt’s 2026 NFL Draft – Overall Team Grade and Selection Grades
Draft Review
Walt’s Draft Grade:
MILLEN Grade
Walt’s Grade Summary
James Gladstone should consider a different occupation. A year ago, he made an insanely dumb trade to move up for Travis Hunter, and yet that was better than what we saw out of him in this draft class.
The Jaguars, as mentioned, had plenty of draft capital in the first four rounds despite not owning an opening-round selection. Their first pick was No. 56, and yet they selected a sixth-round tight end in Nate Boerkircher. Their next pick, No. 81, was used on Albert Regis, who wasn’t even in my mock draft. There were other horrific selections, including Jalen Huskey, a UDFA-type player chosen at the very end of Round 3.
It wasn’t all negative for the Jaguars because I enjoyed the Emmanuel Pregnon selection, though I’m now doubting myself about evaluating Pregnon highly because Gladstone drafted him. Either way, Pregnon isn’t enough to prevent Jacksonville from receiving the dreaded Millen (F) grade.

Draft Picks / Prospect Links
Pick 56
MILLEN KIELBASA
Nate Boerkircher, TE, Texas A&M
TE
Texas A&M
Rnk: 408
Whoooaaaaa, what in the world is this pick? I had Nate Boerkircher in the sixth round. He’s a great blocker, but he’s not much of a receiver. Worst of all, he’s 25. The Jaguars could have gotten this guy on Saturday. What are they doing!?
Pick 81
MILLEN
Albert Regis, DT, Texas A&M
DT
Texas A&M
Rnk: 368
Ladies and gentlemen, the first player taken who wasn’t in my mock draft. Albert Regis is a quick and disruptive defensive tackle, but is undersized and doesn’t have many pass-rushing moves. This was a puzzling pick.
Pick 88
A+
Emmanuel Pregnon, G, Oregon
G
Oregon
Rnk: 75
Scouting Report
What a steal! The Jaguars screwed up with some of their earlier picks, but they made up for it with Emmanuel Pregnon, who easily could have been chosen in the second round. Protecting Trevor Lawrence is obviously extremely important, so getting someone like Pregnon at this spot is a great move.
Pick 100
D
Jalen Huskey, S, Maryland
S
Maryland
Rnk: 465
Jalen Huskey is a lengthy safety with ballhawking skills, but he’s slow and frail. He’s not someone I ever had in my mock draft. The Jaguars could have gotten him or someone similar in the midde of Day 3, so this was a poor pick.
Pick 119
C+
Wesley Williams, DE, Duke
DE
Duke
Rnk: 253
This pick is not only for defense – the Jaguars had to add pass-rushing depth – but it’s also for special teams. Wesley Williams lacks length, but makes up for it with a high motor. He has a knack for blocking kicks. I thought Williams was more of a sixth-round prospect, so this is a bit of a reach.
Pick 164
B
Tanner Koziol, TE, Houston
TE
Houston
Rnk: 185
Tanner Koziol was a highly productive receiving tight end. He has great mismatch height to be an end zone threat. Koziol is a fine pick for the Jaguars, who wanted to draft another tight end to run more multi-tight end formations.
Pick 191
B
Josh Cameron, WR, Baylor
WR
Baylor
Rnk: 151
Josh Cameron is a big-bodied receiver with sure hands, but has speed concerns. He’ll likely have trouble getting open in the NFL, but we’ll have to see what Liam Coen can do with him. I had Cameron going around this range.
Pick 203
B
C.J. Williams, WR, Stanford
WR
Stanford
Rnk: 0
Another receiver makes sense for the Jaguars if they intend on moving Travis Hunter to cornerback. C.J. Williams is a sure-handed speedy receiver. This is a fine pick for Jacksonville.
Pick 233
B
Zach Durfee, DE, Washington
DE
Washington
Rnk: 0
Zach Durfee is very raw, but extremely athletic. It’s good that the Jaguars are swinging for the fences with a position of need (as far as depth is concerned).
Pick 240
C
Parker Hughes, LB, Middle Tennessee
LB
Middle Tennessee
Rnk: 0
Parker Hughes is a speedy linebacker, but is very raw and doesn’t diagnose plays well. I didn’t have him as a draftable prospect.
