Sunday Smackdown: Bengals at Titans

Why are the Titans favored? Bengals have a better record. Even if the Titans win, they will not cover. The bengals are just too good for that. Dalton: 3-4 TDs, Hasselbeck: 2 TDs.

This one should be another nail bitter. I like the UNDER in this game also. Both teams need it. Maybe the Titans a little more? Have no idea, but if you like rock em sock em football, this one should be for you. Gun to head for a decision, Cincy 18, Tenn 17.

Sorry Bengal boys, but Walt has it right. Titans are going to beat them, and the tight running D of cincy will finally be the incentive and cure that CJ needs to fix the poor running game...finally!

After seeing the Titans lose to the Texans by 34 tells me the Titans can't keep up with any team in the NFL. Bengals win this one on the Road with Benson leading the way.

Take the 3 with the Bengals on this one all day long! The team knows they need this one with some tough divisional games coming up. This team although young, is focused and will be thinking only about the job at hand. Gresham and Maleluga being out is a concern, but they can overcome those losses. Will definitely need those guys back for next week though.

Been hitting your site for a couple of years now. I know you've hit a bad streak, but I usually find your comments insightful if not entertaining.

Really, you give a bunch of reasons for the Bengals to win, and then you pick the Titans because this game means nothing to the Bengals? I'm not a huge Benson fan, but you're right he's gonna tear it up.

Stick with your gut, things will turn around. Till then, I'm opposite guy...

How does this game mean nothing to the Bungals? You're kidding right? With only 16 games, EVERY game counts.

I, (a Bengals fan) like Cincinnati a lot this week against the Titans.
I know they have a lot of divisional match ups over the next few weeks, but from what I have seen so far this year with the team is they aren't choking on games. Andy Dalton has looked solid, yes he has thrown some picks, but the team unit has been strong enough to protect the mistakes.
In 2005, Carson looked like a winner with 4th quarter come from behind victories, (this was definitely lost last year) and Dalton has shown he has got "it" so far this year.
With Cedric Benson returning, he will want to show everyone he is the no 1. RB. So I will be expecting to see a big effort from him as the Bengals have him on a contract that forces him to play hard or face being cut.
AJ Green is turning into a TD machine and I would not be surprised to see him score again this week. He will also be motivated to play better as he would have watched the game tape over and over again and seen his errors he made.
Also, what can't be overlooked last week was the absence of Jermaine Gresham. Would the winning margin have been bigger? I think so as his presence for me turns one of the FG's into a TD.
The D bent a lot to the Seattle ariel attack last week and I would expect the corners to have gotten a big dressing down by coach Zimmer as the big plays have to be eliminated.
The front 7 have looked great, but I am eagerly awaiting the status of Rey Maualuga. He is much, much better than Dan Skuta in both his play, but also in motivating the players around him.
The Titans have been an up and down team so far this year. But I have to say that in all areas of the game I think Cincinnati are better. This really surprises me as Chris Johnson has sucked. He has been the shining light for them over the past few years and it is sad to see injuries hurt teams chances, but that is life and you play with what you've got.
As a betting prospect, I am taking the points for 3 units. If Gresham and Maualuga go, then up it to 4.
