Bucs win easily. They've been there the whole week Advantage Bucs. Dline will hurt Cutler, advantage Bucs. Martz can't stick to getting Forte the ball, he does it for a week or two than he goes right back to 5&7 step drops, Cutler wont make it through this game This is an easy one, Bucs are a lock.

I'm going with the Bucs and here are my reasons. 1. I think Freeman is playing more consistently better football then Cutler and 2. If the Bucs can shut down Brees and the Saints then I thnk they can handle the up and down Bears.Bears were up last week so they are due for a down.

Walter, seriously, you're reason for picking Tampa is because they played a game in London before?
That's really lazy, and I'm surprised you have nothing more to go by for your pick.

Hey- my bias is right out in front- I'm a Bucs fan. And I'm rooting for a victory.

I still think we have the edge: 1) this Bears team is unstable- i.e, there's squalling on every level (Cutler v. Martz, etc.), and dissension loses games, 2) the quasi-"home" team advantage of a) sleeping in this time zone for a few days and b) having a lot of Man-U fans cheering us on, 3) a good record against the run including shutting down Sproles last week, and 4) having a good-although-at-times-too-inconsistent D-Line that's a) motivated and b)playing against an even-more-inconsistent-and-worse-at-the-end-of-the-day Bears' O-line.

After Monday nights game, take Da Bears in this one! The O line has woken up, the D line & line backers also.
The safeties and corners are still clueless in dis defense.
Now that they have put a sock in Martz's mouth, Cutler should have better games.
Travel? When I was coach I would have driven da team to London on the team bus! Rest & sleep is over rated, but the Pork Chops in my restaurant are not! Try them today!

@Patriot123: I tend to agree with you about Walters fascination with teams being "down." To be fair to Walter however, Walter has been saying this for as long as I've been following his site, (three years.) I tend to disagree with Walter about the "flat" factor like you do. I believe the down factor is much more prevalent in college ball. I find it interesting that on some occasions his down factor supersedes his own Super 6 quarterback theory. A theory I tend to agree with 100 percent. 80 percent of my plays are on teams with a super six(now 5 with Payton out for the season) QB throwing for them. Anyway good luck going forward Walter and of course the PATS!!

About your bad record this year with the picks: I think the real culprit is the guy with the gun- the one who forces these people to bet "according to Walter"...
It always makes me chuckle- how everyone always has somebody to blame if somethig goes wrong... I wonder what these guys would say if they had paid for the picks!
I will say this, though-- the week is coming when you'll have 10 or 11 out of 13...

@Going Bears: what do you think of the Bears' decision to put off traveling until Friday vs. the Bucs' decision to spend the week in London? I've gotta think that gives Tampa an edge.

If you watched that god-awful SF game, I can understand why you might think the Bucs stink on the road. But we've gone 1-1 on the road so far this year, and we were 6-2 on the road in 2010. I don't think that's a particular liability for this squad.

Tampa's been in England since monday, Bears travel 8 hours Friday... and they get very little time to rest/get acclimated to the time zone. hmmmm...Go Bucs.

Walter I think part of your problem is you are playing too many "fictitious" angles. I've noticed quite frequently you say things like " there's no way this team can get up for this game after last weeks emotional loss" (see week two's write up on the Saints as an example......then see how they actually performed) These are grown men for crying out loud! Not to mention over paid spoiled brats! You think they actually give a c.rap if they lost to a rival? NO! They took a shower and went home and counted their money! And then it's back to work for the next weeks paycheck. So forget about these "they threw the kitchen sink last week and lost so there's no way they could possibly get up for this meaningless game" mentality. Each week is a clean slate and a chance to redeem the previous weeks loss. It's week 7 so teams are revealing who they really are by now ( so many dreadfully pathetic teams this year). Better luck from here on out.
