Sunday Smackdown: Bengals at Browns

Browns D- 4.0 Sacks, 2 FF (neither rec.)

So I'll start with McCoy completes less than 50% of his passes, throws a pick, and loses a fumble. Hillis had over 1/3 of his yards for the day on one carry other than that he had 16 Car. for 40 yards not too good huh? Watson and Moore are the same case as they each have inflated stats from one big play. The one thing I can't argue with is the Browns D did expose the Bengals O- Line a little but there are some fixable mistakes that will take this team to an 8-8 type season.

The Browns are a .500 team and the Bengals are terrible huh? Well my prediction of the Bengals by 10 was almost spot on the offenses surprised me a little and the Browns got beat by our back up so good LUCK with your season Brownies

Funk...you seem to forget it's Benson who averages 150 yds. a game against the Brownies and Hillis is a one year wonder. Green will continued to torch Hayden just like he did in the SEC so long as the Red Rifle (Dalton) can get him the ball. Both D's are improving and it should be a fair game. Comes right down to whomever has the fewest turnovers wins.

No psychological edge? It's the first game of the season in Cleveland. Like 75% of Browns fans at this point think the team is on the way to the Super Bowl (same as they do every year). The crowd should stand for some edge. By week 2, most of those fans will have jumped ship and it's edge Bungles. Not this week tho.

Doesn't Walter's Six and Six rule apply here? Since 2002, teams that have gone 6-10 or worse are just 22-61 against the spread when laying at least six points (3-12 in 2010). Cleveland was 5-11 last yr.

Which team is worse, the one with a very promising QB and no weapons, or the one with promising weapons but no QB? Cleveland is going to win because they are better at the more important positions.

The Bengals usually do pretty well against the spread as underdogs, while they also do well against Cleveland. I'd take the 6.5 with the Bengals all day in what will probably be an ugly low scoring game.

I don't care who wins this one as long as I don't have to watch it. Its gonna be bad football on both sides that might lead to a tight (but unwatchable) game. I like the Browns to cover though.
