I don't hear any network hyping Talib or the DE's. That's just Bucs fans. There is no shutting down CJ but Tampa stands a better chance against him with Talib on the field.

You know whats overhyped the return of aquib talib who has he shut down? and your two rookie DE's....

So the Lions are getting all this hype due to the preseason. Why all this love? Because they look good on paper? Everyone thinks Suh is going to do so much I remember last years game and a certain undrafted, rookie, guard kept him in check. It will be a good game but all this Lions hype is ridiculous.

What exactly has Matt Stafford accomplished to warrant all this hype? Oh a big preseason?

Josh Freeman didnt play in the preseason last year...Preseason means jack.

Idk who to pick. The bucs will be playing for revenge and of course for Lee Roy Selmon.
Last year we also had rookie guard Derek Hardman going up against Suh, this year we have a healthy Davin Joseph to take on Suh and Talib for Megatron. I think it will be close.

I'm going to say the Bucs are going to win, but then agin I'm a homer. In all reality the Lions scare me more than the Super Bowl champs and I'm picking them to win there Div. I think the Lions are a darn good team but they might have made a mistake by beating the Bucs last year and knocking them out of the playoffs it has been burning in all the player all offseason. Hope there is no injury's on either side and the Bucs come out with a win. Lion fans once agin I hope yall have a great season, and I'm saying we will see you twice this year.

To anyone that is thinking this game will be a blow out either way I think you're overrating your team. Lions will be good, and the Bucs will be good. This game can go either way. I hope the Bucs win to set the tempo for the rest of the season.

Lions are gonna be pretty darn good this yr, and if Arrelious Benn dosen't step up this yr, i don't think the bucs will have enough offensive power to compete for a playoff spot.. They'll finish just barley on the outside looking in again.. Look for Delmas and Spivey to really catapoult the Lion Defense, that is loaded with playmakers on the D=Line all ready..

As for this game, i think Stafford to Calvin Johnson and Nate Burleson, and tony SHeffler, and Nate BUrleson and Titus Adams and Jahvid Best is just to much, and the lions win 24-20...

I think the lions are a little overrated. I'm not saying they wont be good, but if Blount can run for 100 yards+ then i say the Bucs have a very good chance of winning. I'm going to say this game ends up being 17-13 Bucs.

@Arosas are you talking about the last game of the season last year? You're right New Orleans pulled their starters with 10 minutes left in the game still down by a TD.

Clayborn was a TERRIBLE college player. I dont know what you are talking about Burley.

Wow. Bucs fans must do a lot of drinking. Clayborn and Bowers were great collegiate players, and I expect that they will be at least servicable and probably good at the NFL level, but to think that they will dominate the first game of their rookie year is ridiculous.

McCoy is a hell of a player, and is by far your best asset in the front 4 at this point in time. He will be double teamed all day, and not get much done.

Bowers and Clayborn will be non-factors in this game. Look up some stats, because that Lions offensive line that everyone trashes allowed fewer hits and sacks than about 80% of the lines in the NFL last year, and last I checked Shaun Hill is no track star. Backus is fashionable to trash, but look up his sacks allowed and penalties last year. A rookie isn't going to make a fool of this guy.

Talib can play, but shut down Calvin? Get serious. By the way, Burleson, Pettigrew and Scheffler are all legit NFL receiving threats too. You don't have enough depth to cover them all. Look for some double TE sets to exploit the major mismatch and help prop up the admittedly suspect running game.

I love what Josh Freeman is doing there, but a guy on his back can't throw very effectively. The kid is a fighter, and he'll keep getting up and playing, but he is going to take a pummeling, and there is no way to prevent it other than handing off every snap.

I think Tampa may be a playoff bubble team this year (by the way I feel the same about the Lions), but the positional matchups just don't bode well for them.

I still hold my original prediction for score. Leos 24 Bucs 3.
