2020 Fantasy Football Rankings - Wide Receivers (Jan. 31):
Top 10 | 11-20 | 21-40 | 41-60 | 61-100

Other Positions: QB | RB | TE | Top 250 | Sleepers | Busts

  1. Sammy Watkins, WR, Chiefs. Bye: 12.
JULY 19 UPDATE: With Tyreek Hill facing no suspension, Sammy Watkins and Mecole Hardman’s stock has plummeted. Watkins and Hardman still worth picking in the second half of fantasy drafts, so they aren’t completely useless, but they’ll need Hill to get hurt to be good starting options.

Sammy Watkins had some huge outputs in his first year with the Chiefs, but he also had some dud performances as well. I would’ve predicted him to continue to be very hit-or-miss, but Watkins is expected to take a huge leap, statistically, with Tyreek Hill likely to be suspended or cut.

Projected 2019 Fantasy Stats: 60 catches. 890 yards. 7 total TDs.
    Projected 2019 Fantasy Points: 131.
Projected 2019 PPR Fantasy Points: 191.

  2. T.Y. Hilton, WR, Colts. Bye: 6.
AUG. 25 UPDATE: Andrew Luck has retired. In his one season without Luck, T.Y. Hilton posted middling stats, catching 57 passes for 966 yards and four touchdowns. I think he’ll do a bit better because of the superior coaching, but Hilton is a WR3 at best right now.

T.Y. Hilton was thrilled to see Andrew Luck return to full strength. Hilton had his second sub-1,000-yard season in 2017, but bounced back to catch 76 balls for 1,270 yards and six touchdowns despite missing two games and a chunk of a third. Hilton should be a 1,300-yard receiver again in 2019.

Projected 2019 Fantasy Stats: 64 catches. 1,000 yards. 5 total TDs.
    Projected 2019 Fantasy Points: 130.
Projected 2019 PPR Fantasy Points: 194.

  3. D.J. Moore, WR, Panthers. Bye: 7.
D.J. Moore was a favorite sleeper of mine from the beginning last year until he went into the dog house for driving 113 mph. Moore did nothing at the beginning of the year, but showed promise in the second half of his rookie campaign. Moore eclipsed 67 yards five times beginning in Week 8, and that was with Cam Newton nursing a bum shoulder. Moore is in for a potentially big season if Cam Newton can stay healthy, and it sounds like Newton is 100 percent.

Projected 2019 Fantasy Stats: 64 catches. 880 yards. 7 total TDs.
    Projected 2019 Fantasy Points: 130.
Projected 2019 PPR Fantasy Points: 194.

  4. Sterling Shepard, WR, Giants. Bye: 11.
AUG. 26 UPDATE: Dante Pettis has to “earn a role on the team,” according to Kyle Shanahan. I’m beginning to think that Shanahan, while being a great offensive coordinator, may not be cut out to be a head coach. Pettis is the best receiver on San Francisco’s roster, so Shanahan’s attitude on this matter is befuddling, to say the least.

JULY 26 UPDATE: Sterling Shepard broke his thumb in Thursday’s practice. He’s considered “week to week.” It’s possible that Shepard could miss the season opener, but he won’t be out for a chunk of the regular season.

Sterling Shepard was a disappointment in his third season, failing to reach 900 receiving yards and five touchdowns. The Giants lost Odell Beckham Jr., but replaced him with Golden Tate, so Shepard is just a mediocre fantasy option at best.

Projected 2019 Fantasy Stats: 75 catches. 970 yards. 5 total TDs.
    Projected 2019 Fantasy Points: 127.
Projected 2019 PPR Fantasy Points: 202.

  5. Tre’Quan Smith, WR, Saints. Bye: 9.
Tre’Quan Smith had a couple of huge outputs last season, but had many more dud performances. However, given the offense he plays in, as well as his potential, Smith could have a strong sophomore campaign.

Projected 2019 Fantasy Stats: 63 catches. 810 yards. 6 total TDs.
    Projected 2019 Fantasy Points: 127.
Projected 2019 PPR Fantasy Points: 190.

  6. Marquez Valdes-Scantling, WR, Packers. Bye: 11.
JUNE 10 UPDATE: Marquez Valdes-Scantling drew heavy praise from Aaron Rodgers recently. Rodgers said that Valdes-Scantling has enjoyed a “fantastic spring.” Furthermore, Valdes-Scantling has quickly picked up Matt LaFleur’s system, per Albert Breer. Valdes-Scantling is currently poised to be the No. 3 receiver in Green Bay, which means he’ll be a major fantasy factor as long as Rodgers is healthy.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling was the best of the three Packer rookie receivers in the preseason. He flashed early, but lost snaps to Equanimeous St. Brown at the end of the year. Valdes-Scantling still has plenty of potential, and he could be a big producer in 2019, but he could also be a dud. He’ll be interesting to watch this summer.

Projected 2019 Fantasy Stats: 64 catches. 860 yards. 5 total TDs.
    Projected 2019 Fantasy Points: 126.
Projected 2019 PPR Fantasy Points: 190.

  7. Courtland Sutton, WR, Broncos. Bye: 10.
JULY 19 UPDATE: Courtland Sutton had a rough day of practice, per Cecil Lammey, 104.3 the Fan. Sutton had plenty of dropped passes and seemingly lacked concentration. Many expect Sutton to make a big leap in 2019, but he’s not off to a good start.

MAY 25 UPDATE: Courtland Sutton has been working with Anquan Boldin this offseason. Sutton has been attempting to improve his route running, and he’s learning from someone who once played with his current quarterback, Joe Flacco. It’s great to hear that Sutton is taking his career seriously. He could have a solid 2019 campaign.

Courtland Sutton flashed in his rookie campaign at times. However, his production didn’t increase very much after Demaryius Thomas was traded and Emmanuel Sanders suffered an injury. Sutton’s production figures to increase in 2019, given that he’ll have a quarterback who can deliver the ball to him downfield for a change.

Projected 2019 Fantasy Stats: 66 catches. 870 yards. 6 total TDs.
    Projected 2019 Fantasy Points: 123.
Projected 2019 PPR Fantasy Points: 189.

  8. DeVante Parker, WR, Dolphins. Bye: 5.
JUNE 5 UPDATE: DeVante Parker has been the best offensive player in minicamp, according to Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald. It’s unclear if Parker has been great, or if everyone else has been terrible. However, Parker obviously has lots of talent as a former first-round pick, and perhaps he’s finally going to live up to expectations with a new coaching staff. Parker isn’t the worst late-round flier, given that he has plenty of upside.

DeVante Parker is a first-round bust, but to be fair, he’s never played with a good quarterback. Parker could still turn his career around, but you shouldn’t trust him.

Projected 2019 Fantasy Stats: 60 catches. 850 yards. 6 total TDs.
    Projected 2019 Fantasy Points: 121.
Projected 2019 PPR Fantasy Points: 181.

  9. Larry Fitzgerald, WR, Cardinals. Bye: 12.
Larry Fitzgerald will return for another season. He’ll be playing with a talented quarterback for the first time in a couple of seasons, which could energize him. However, Kyler Murray will run on a decent number of passing plays, which will limit Fitzgerald’s upside.

Projected 2019 Fantasy Stats: 75 catches. 840 yards. 7 total TDs.
    Projected 2019 Fantasy Points: 120.
Projected 2019 PPR Fantasy Points: 195.

  10. Marquise Goodwin, WR, 49ers. Bye: 4.
Marquise Goodwin was a big-time bust in 2018. He had 962 yards in 2017, but saw his yardage plummet to 395 last year. Goodwin will likely be the third receiver at best next year – depending on how quickly the rookies develop – and he can’t be trusted because of his injury history.

Projected 2019 Fantasy Stats: 47 catches. 790 yards. 5 total TDs.
    Projected 2019 Fantasy Points: 119.
Projected 2019 PPR Fantasy Points: 166.

  11. Jaron Brown, WR, Seahawks. Bye: 11.
Jaron Brown has drawn some rave reviews for his practices and conditioning this offseason. Some reports have said that Brown has been “unbelievable” in OTAs. In the wake of Doug Baldwin’s retirement, someone will need to step up across from Tyler Lockett, and it seems as though Brown is the early favorite.

Projected 2019 Fantasy Stats: 58 catches. 790 yards. 5 total TDs.
    Projected 2019 Fantasy Points: 119.
Projected 2019 PPR Fantasy Points: 177.

  12. Mecole Hardman, WR, Chiefs.

Tyreek Hill may never play football again, and the Chiefs drafted Mecole Hardman to take his place. Hardman is an explosive player, so you have to love his upside with Patrick Mahomes.

Projected 2019 Fantasy Stats: 46 catches. 740 yards. 4 total TDs.
    Projected 2019 Fantasy Points: 118.
Projected 2019 PPR Fantasy Points: 164.

  13. Deebo Samuel, WR, 49ers. Bye: 4.
Deebo Samuel figures to start across from Dante Pettis early in the season. If so, he’ll have great potential in a high-powered offense. Samuel’s long-term outlook is bright as well.

Projected 2019 Fantasy Stats: 50 catches. 740 yards. 4 total TDs.
    Projected 2019 Fantasy Points: 118.
Projected 2019 PPR Fantasy Points: 168.

  14. Golden Tate, WR, Giants. Bye: 11.
Golden Tate shockingly struggled with the Eagles after having so much success with the Lions. Tate signed with the Giants, which seems to be a good fit for him, at least as far as a fantasy perspective is concerned. Tate should continue to be a receptions machine.

Projected 2019 Fantasy Stats: 63 catches. 740 yards. 4 total TDs.
    Projected 2019 Fantasy Points: 118.
Projected 2019 PPR Fantasy Points: 181.

  15. Diontae Johnson, WR, Steelers. Bye: 7.
JUNE 17 UPDATE: Diontae Johnson has been a standout in OTAs. The third-round rookie is expected by many to open behind James Washington across from JuJu Smith-Schuster, but perhaps Johnson will be able to leap over Washington by the time the summer is over. Johnson is certainly worth a late-round flier, especially if he continues to thrive in practice.

The Steelers have had success with receivers past the first round, so Diontae Johnson has a chance to be a viable fantasy option down the road. I wouldn’t count on much from him this year, however.

Projected 2019 Fantasy Stats: 45 catches. 660 yards. 5 total TDs.
    Projected 2019 Fantasy Points: 116.
Projected 2019 PPR Fantasy Points: 161.

  16. David Moore, WR, Seahawks. Bye: 11.
David Moore was Seattle’s third receiver last year. He was an inconsistent player who could be more productive in 2019 with Doug Baldwin gone.

Projected 2019 Fantasy Stats: 52 catches. 780 yards. 6 total TDs.
    Projected 2019 Fantasy Points: 114.
Projected 2019 PPR Fantasy Points: 166.

  17. Kenny Stills, WR, Dolphins. Bye: 5.
SEPT. 1 UPDATE: The Texans acquired Kenny Stills in the Laremy Tunsil trade. Stills will be Houston’s new No. 3 receiver. He’ll get a bump up in production because he’ll be playing with a better quarterback, but he’s not a great fantasy option.

Kenny Stills saw his yardage drop from 847 in 2017 to 553 in 2018. He scored six touchdowns, but he’ll remain a non-factor in fantasy until the Dolphins find a viable quarterback.

Projected 2019 Fantasy Stats: 56 catches. 790 yards. 6 total TDs.
    Projected 2019 Fantasy Points: 115.
Projected 2019 PPR Fantasy Points: 171.

  18. A.J. Brown, WR, Titans. Bye: 11.
A.J. Brown was very productive at Ole Miss. I had high hopes for his fantasy outlook in the NFL, but the Titans are a run-heavy squad, so Brown’s potential is limited.

Projected 2019 Fantasy Stats: 54 catches. 730 yards. 5 total TDs.
    Projected 2019 Fantasy Points: 113.
Projected 2019 PPR Fantasy Points: 167.

  19. Albert Wilson, WR, Dolphins. Bye: 5.
The Dolphins gave Albert Wilson $24 million last offseason for some strange reason. Wilson had a big game against the Bears in Week 6, but did nothing otherwise. He caught 26 passes for 391 yards and four touchdowns in seven games. He’s a bye-week filler at best in 12-team leagues if he’s healthy, but that’s not the case at the moment because of a bum hip.

Projected 2019 Fantasy Stats: 52 catches. 770 total yards. 6 total TDs.
    Projected 2019 Fantasy Points: 113.
Projected 2019 PPR Fantasy Points: 165.

  20. Jake Kumerow, WR, Packers. Bye: 11.
Jake Kumerow is an undrafted free agent from 2015, but he’s a 6-foot-4 receiver whom Aaron Rodgers likes. Kumerow had an outstanding training camp and preseason last year, but suffered an injury that caused him to miss most of the season. Kumerow showed some potential in Week 16 with a 3-68-1 line at the Jets. He’s a major sleeper for 2019.

Projected 2019 Fantasy Stats: 54 catches. 780 yards. 4 total TDs.
    Projected 2019 Fantasy Points: 112.
Projected 2019 PPR Fantasy Points: 166.

  21. Nelson Agholor, WR, Eagles. Bye: 10.
Nelson Agholor saw a dip in his production right after the Golden Tate trade, but rebounded in the final couple of weeks. It doesn’t seem like Agholor will be back in Philadelphia next year because of financial reasons, so his production will depend on his destination.

Projected 2019 Fantasy Stats: 65 catches. 760 yards. 6 total TDs.
    Projected 2019 Fantasy Points: 112.
Projected 2019 PPR Fantasy Points: 177.
