The Matchups:
Mateer enters the first big test of the 2026 season needing to impress. In speaking with some scouts in the preseason, they were disappointed in his 2025 tape after he impressed in 2024 with Washington State. The Wolverines have good defensive talent, including Berry and Daley, who could be early-round picks. Berry will get tested by some quality receivers in Livingstone, Staegna, and Harris. There is a nice draft battle in the trenches with Stone versus Link.

The Matchups:
This will be an interesting game for the new Kentucky players. Minchey showed some promise at Notre Dame, Anderson flashed years ago with Oklahoma, and Baxter showed some potential at Texas. Pierre leads a talented Alabama defense, and Pierre could be a first-rounder next April. Brown, Sabb, and Hubbard could be early-round prospects. Coleman-Williams looked like a future first-rounder during his freshman season in 2024, but he struggled with dropped passes in 2025.

The Matchups:
There is a lot of good pro talent on display in this game. Smith enters the year as the No. prospect for the 2027 NFL Draft regardless of position, while Manning enters as the quarterback with the highest preseason grade from NFL advance scouts. Both Smith and Coleman could go in the top-10 next April, and each of them looks like a future No. 1 receiver in the NFL. Simmons and McDonald lead the Longhorns defense, and they will be tested by a potent Buckeyes offense. Simmons and McDonald have first-round potential next April.
