2020 Fantasy Football Rankings - Wide Receivers (Sept. 8):
Top 10 | 11-20 | 21-40 | 41-60 | 61-100

Other Positions: QB | RB | TE | Top 250 | Sleepers | Busts

  1. Amari Cooper, WR, Cowboys. Bye: 10.
Amari Cooper was a disappointment late in the year when he couldn’t play very well when he was injured. Cooper owners will have to hope for better luck in the fantasy playoffs this year. Either way, Cooper’s upside took a hit in the wake of the CeeDee Lamb selection.

Projected 2020 Fantasy Stats: 80 catches. 1,190 yards. 9 total TDs.
    Projected 2020 Fantasy Points: 183.
Projected 2020 PPR Fantasy Points: 263.

  2. D.J. Moore, WR, Panthers. Bye: 13.
D.J. Moore was a favorite sleeper of mine in 2018. Apparently, I got the year wrong. Moore was excellent in 2019 despite being paired with backup quarterbacks for 14 of 16 games. Moore saw tons of targets to close out the year, ultimately finishing with 87 catches for 1,175 yards and four touchdowns. The four scores may improve with Teddy Bridgewater, though I’m not fully convinced Bridgewater will do as well in Carolina without Sean Payton getting the most out of him.

Projected 2020 Fantasy Stats: 92 catches. 1,290 yards. 8 total TDs.
    Projected 2020 Fantasy Points: 177.
Projected 2020 PPR Fantasy Points: 269.

  3. JuJu Smith-Schuster, WR, Steelers. Bye: 8.
MAY 21 UPDATE: Ben Roethlisberger posted a video of himself throwing passes to his teammates. JuJu Smith-Schuster then said, “He’s baaack.” It’s unclear if Roethlisberger is truly 100 percent, but Smith-Schuster sounds confident. If Roethlisberger is his former self once more, Smith-Schuster could have a monster 2020 campaign.

JuJu Smith-Schuster had a very disappointing 2019 campaign, but that wasn’t his fault. He played with an injured Ben Roethlisberger or a scrub quarterback the entire year. Smith-Schuster figures to rebound next year if Roethlisberger is 100 percent. That’s a big if, but Smith-Schuster’s ADP figures to be pretty low.

Projected 2020 Fantasy Stats: 88 catches. 1,220 yards. 9 total TDs.
    Projected 2020 Fantasy Points: 176.
Projected 2020 PPR Fantasy Points: 264.

  4. A.J. Brown, WR, Titans. Bye: 7.
JULY 2 UPDATE: Nothing has occurred to move A.J. Brown’s fantasy stock, but this is related to my re-watching of the 2019 season. I’m almost done Week 14, and I’ve been reminded of how dominant Brown was in his rookie campaign. I think I’ve ranked Brown too low, so I’m bumping him up in the rankings.

A.J. Brown was a stud as a rookie, posting some terrific numbers despite being in a run-first offense. Brown logged 52 catches for 1,051 yards and eight touchdowns. It’s possible those numbers could rise in 2020, though Ryan Tannehill and the Tennessee run-first offense will limit him.

Projected 2020 Fantasy Stats: 67 catches. 1,220 yards. 9 total TDs.
    Projected 2020 Fantasy Points: 176.
Projected 2020 PPR Fantasy Points: 243.

  5. Odell Beckham, WR, Browns. Bye: 9.
JUNE 26 UPDATE: Odell Beckham Jr. is 100 percent, according to head coach Kevin Stefanski. Beckham wasn’t quite himself last year because of a nagging sports hernia, making him a great buy-low candidate for the 2020 fantasy season.

Odell Beckham Jr. is coming off a dreadful 2019 campaign in which he dealt with a sports hernia and complained about his team to the media. Beckham’s offseason wasn’t off to a good start, as a warrant for his arrest was issued because he was acting like an idiot when assaulting a security guard. I don’t really trust Beckham at this point, but there’s no doubting his talent. In fact, you could argue that he’s a buy-low target.

Projected 2020 Fantasy Stats: 83 catches. 1,210 yards. 9 total TD.
    Projected 2020 Fantasy Points: 175.
Projected 2020 PPR Fantasy Points: 259.

  6. Allen Robinson, WR, Bears. Bye: 11.
It’s quite amazing that Allen Robinson was able to catch 98 passes for 1,147 yards and seven touchdowns last year despite being paired with a horrible quarterback. The Bears found an upgrade over Mitchell Trubisky in Nick Foles. Robinson’s targets will increase because Foles won’t run as much as Trubisky.

Projected 2020 Fantasy Stats: 103 catches. 1,230 yards. 8 total TDs.
    Projected 2020 Fantasy Points: 171.
Projected 2020 PPR Fantasy Points: 274.

  7. Adam Thielen, WR, Vikings. Bye: 7.
Former coordinator Kevin Stefanski foolishly moved Adam Thielen out of the slot, which resulted in a diminished output for the talented receiver. Thielen’s outlook wasn’t too bright entering the offseason. Things changed when Stefon Diggs was traded, but the Justin Jefferson pick ruined things because Jefferson is likely to be in the slot.

Projected 2020 Fantasy Stats: 84 catches. 1,160 yards. 8 total TDs.
    Projected 2020 Fantasy Points: 170.
Projected 2020 PPR Fantasy Points: 254.

  8. Calvin Ridley, WR, Falcons. Bye: 10.
AUG. 21 UPDATE: Calvin Ridley has focused on strengthening his legs this offseason. It’s nice to hear that Ridley was focused on improving on a weakness during the panemdic. Ridley should be in for a better season than the last one.

Calvin Ridley had about the same number of receptions and receiving yards in both of his seasons, but he played three fewer games in 2019. He could hit the 1,000-yard mark in 2020 if he can remain on the field every week. Austin Hooper’s departure will certainly help.

Projected 2020 Fantasy Stats: 76 catches. 1,080 yards. 10 total TDs.
    Projected 2020 Fantasy Points: 168.
Projected 2020 PPR Fantasy Points: 244.

  9. DeVante Parker, WR, Dolphins. Bye: 11.
AUG. 21 UPDATE: DeVante Parker is now a “self motivator,” according to Dolphins head coach Brian Flores. Parker developed a bad reputation for his lousy work ethic, but it has improved ever since Adam Gase changed teams. I was wondering if Parker’s improved work ethic would continue another season, but it appears as though that will be the case.

DeVante Parker had a disappointing start to his career, but all it took for him to live up to his potential was to escape Adam Gase. Finally free of the horrible Gase, Parker had a dominant 2019 campaign despite being paired with Ryan Fitzpatrick. Parker tallied 72 receptions for 1,202 yards and nine touchdowns. I don’t think this was a fluke, so I’m a fan of Parker’s outlook in 2020.

Projected 2020 Fantasy Stats: 80 catches. 1,220 yards. 8 total TDs.
    Projected 2020 Fantasy Points: 165.
Projected 2020 PPR Fantasy Points: 245.

  10. D.J. Chark, WR, Jaguars. Bye: 7.
D.J. Chark made amazing strides in his second NFL season, catching 73 passes for 1,008 yards and eight touchdowns. These numbers were great, considering that Chark was paired with an inexperienced quarterback who was poorly shielded behind a horrible offensive line. Chark should continue to grow, but he won’t be in a better situation in 2020.

Projected 2020 Fantasy Stats: 80 catches. 1,110 yards. 9 total TD.
    Projected 2020 Fantasy Points: 165.
Projected 2020 PPR Fantasy Points: 245.
