2015 Fantasy Football Rankings - Wide Receivers (Sept. 10):
Top 10 | 11-20 | 21-40 | 41-60 | 61-100

  1. Antonio Brown, WR, Steelers. Bye: 11.
Antonio Brown amazingly hasn’t caught fewer than five passes in any game in the past two years. He’s the most consistent receiver in the NFL by a wide margin. In fact, he’s so reliable that it’s a major disappointment when he posts a 5-84 or 8-74 line – two of his worst outings in 2014. Brown is a stud fantasy receiver and will continue to be so.

Projected 2015 Fantasy Stats: 126 catches. 1,660 yards. 12 total TDs.
    Projected 2015 Fantasy Points: 238.
Projected 2015 PPR Fantasy Points: 364.

  2. Calvin Johnson, WR, Lions. Bye: 9.
Calvin Johnson turns 30 in September, but he’s still at the top of his game. Megatron missed some time this past season, but caught fire in the second half of the year, going over the 100-yard mark in three of his final five contests and scoring five times. He tends to get hurt more often than his fantasy owners would like, but he’s still worth a late first-round fantasy pick.

Projected 2015 Fantasy Stats: 96 catches. 1,640 yards. 12 total TDs.
    Projected 2015 Fantasy Points: 236.
Projected 2015 PPR Fantasy Points: 332.

  3. Julio Jones, WR, Falcons. Bye: 10.
AUG. 15 UPDATE: Julio Jones was a monster in his preseason debut. He caught four balls for 61 yards and a touchdown – on just a single drive! Jones’ score was a thing of beauty, as he put the breaks on Perrish Cox in the open field and ran into the end zone. Jones is going to have a huge year and is definitely worth consideration at the end of the first round of your fantasy draft.

Julio Jones stayed healthy for the most part in 2014 and was dominant as a result, catching 104 balls for 1,593 yards. He scored just six touchdowns, but that was more fluky than anything; Jones had 18 combined scores in his first two NFL campaigns, so if he remains on the field, he’ll likely rebound in the touchdown category.

Projected 2015 Fantasy Stats: 102 catches. 1,580 yards. 12 total TDs.
    Projected 2015 Fantasy Points: 230.
Projected 2015 PPR Fantasy Points: 332.

  4. Odell Beckham, WR, Giants. Bye: 11.
AUG. 30 UPDATE: Odell Beckham Jr. was the prominent fantasy player in the preseason dress rehearsal by a wide margin. Beckham failed to catch a single pass heading into this contest, but he managed to snatch five balls versus the Jets. He accumulated just 31 yards, but that can be chalked up to bad luck more than anything. For instance, he made a terrific reception over Darrelle Revis with one hand while falling out of bounds, but was able to get just one foot in the field of play. Later on, Beckham once again beat Revis downfield, but Eli Manning sailed the pass out of bounds. Beckham is without a doubt worth a late pick in the first round of fantasy drafts, and he could end the year as the No. 1 overall receiver.

AUG. 23 UPDATE: Eli Manning and Odell Beckham Jr. simply couldn’t connect versus the Jaguars. Beckham saw a team-high (for the starters) five targets, yet he failed to secure a single catch. Manning began by overthrowing Beckham a couple of times. He then appeared to connect with Beckham for a gain of 29, and it could’ve gone for a touchdown had Manning hit Beckham in stride rather than throwing it low. Unfortunately, it was ruled a drop upon inspection, as Beckham couldn’t hang on to the ball. Manning then overshot Beckham once last time, though Beckham paid him back by dropping another ball. I’m sure things will improve in the regular season, but this left me with an uneasy feeling.

Odell Beckham didn’t play until Week 5, and he didn’t see major playing time prior to Week 7, yet he caught 91 passes for 1,305 yards and 12 touchdowns. He made awesome, one-handed catches look routine, and he was unstoppable down the stretch. Look at what he did in his final six games: 60 receptions, 842 yards, nine touchdowns. Extrapolate that over a full 16-game slate, and you’d get 160 catches, 2,245 yards and 24 scores. Beckham is for real, and he’s arguably the best receiver in the NFL already. You could make a case for him to be the No. 2 overall pick in fantasy drafts this summer behind Le’Veon Bell (if Bell gets his suspension reduced).

Projected 2015 Fantasy Stats: 107 catches. 1,540 yards. 12 total TD.
    Projected 2015 Fantasy Points: 226.
Projected 2015 PPR Fantasy Points: 333.

  5. Dez Bryant, WR, Cowboys. Bye: 6.
JULY 16 UPDATE: There was speculation that Dez Bryant would hold out and miss games if he didn’t sign a long-term extension. We’ll never know if he intended to keep his promise because Dallas agreed to a big contract with him. There’s now virtually no risk in drafting Bryant early.

In the past three years, Dez Bryant has eclipsed 1,225 yards and 12 touchdowns in each of his seasons. He found the end zone 16 times in 2014, and there’s no reason to think he’ll slow down next year; in fact, his stats could even be better with DeMarco Murray gone.

Projected 2015 Fantasy Stats: 94 catches. 1,410 yards. 14 total TDs.
    Projected 2015 Fantasy Points: 225.
Projected 2015 PPR Fantasy Points: 319.

  6. A.J. Green, WR, Bengals. Bye: 7.
A.J. Green posted career-high numbers in receptions (98), yards (1,426) and touchdowns (11) in 2013. He didn’t do as much this past season (69-1,041-6), but he missed three games and was banged up for a couple of others. He’ll rebound next year, but he’ll continue to be limited as long as Andy Dalton is his quarterback.

Projected 2015 Fantasy Stats: 94 catches. 1,400 yards. 11 total TDs.
    Projected 2015 Fantasy Points: 206.
Projected 2015 PPR Fantasy Points: 300.

  7. Randall Cobb, WR, Packers. Bye: 7.
SEPT. 2 UPDATE: Randall Cobb will be able to play in Week 1, according to FOX Sports. Cobb suffered a scary shoulder injury in the third preseason game, but he appears to be fine.

AUG. 18 UPDATE: I recently mentioned a report that Green Bay wants to run a faster-paced scoring attack in 2015. The team ran 33 plays in the first quarter in their initial exhibition game, which is well ahead of last year’s average. Randall Cobb and the other Packer play-makers will obviously benefit from this.

Randall Cobb was on a torrid scoring pace to begin the season, finding the end zone 10 times in his first nine games. He had just two touchdowns after that, but he’ll definitely be capable of notching double-digit scores again.

Projected 2015 Fantasy Stats: 94 catches. 1,360 yards. 11 total TDs.
    Projected 2015 Fantasy Points: 202.
Projected 2015 PPR Fantasy Points: 296.

  8. Demaryius Thomas, WR, Broncos. Bye: 7.
JULY 16 UPDATE: Like Dez Bryant, Demaryius Thomas signed a long-term extension, so there’s now no possibility of a holdout. You can read my grades for the Demaryius Thomas and Dez Bryant contracts here.

JUNE 22 UPDATE: With Ryan Clady unavailable to give Peyton Manning more time in the pocket, Demaryius Thomas’ numbers will be affected. Thomas’ fantasy outlook is already looking shaky because he’s holding out and consequently not learning Gary Kubiak’s new offense.

Peyton Manning’s possible decline looms over Demaryius Thomas’ 2014 fantasy campaign. It’s safe to say Thomas’ stats will drop, but he’s still a WR1 option.

Projected 2015 Fantasy Stats: 92 catches. 1,370 yards. 10 total TDs.
    Projected 2015 Fantasy Points: 197.
Projected 2015 PPR Fantasy Points: 289.

  9. T.Y. Hilton, WR, Colts. Bye: 10.
T.Y. Hilton has made great strides each year. His third season saw him catch 82 balls for 1,345 yards and seven touchdowns. There’s no reason to expect him to decline in 2015, as he and Andrew Luck are growing together. Hilton’s touchdown number figures to increase as Indianapolis’ offense becomes more consistent.

Projected 2015 Fantasy Stats: 82 catches. 1,330 yards. 8 total TDs.
    Projected 2015 Fantasy Points: 181.
Projected 2015 PPR Fantasy Points: 263.

  10. Brandin Cooks, WR, Saints. Bye: 11.
AUG. 23 UPDATE: One of the main reasons Drew Brees was so effective in the team’s second preseason game was Brandin Cooks. The second-year receiver was extremely dynamic, catching four passes for 117 yards and a touchdown in just one half of action. Cooks was brilliant, even making Pro Bowl safety Devin McCourty miss on an 18-yard reception. Cooks, who has been predicted to have a monster year by none other than Randy Moss, is definitely going to shoot up my Fantasy Football Rankings.

AUG. 14 UPDATE: Brandin Cooks caught one pass – a 28-yard touchdown – in the preseason opener. Cooks also nearly had a second score a bit earlier; he managed to snatch a deep pass and run into the end zone, but he was flagged for illegal touching because the defender pushed him out of bounds beforehand. Cooks’ score came on a short pass that he caught in space. He then sprinted into the end zone. Cooks looks primed for a big year.

Brandin Cooks missed the second half of the season with a thumb injury. Before that, he was a constant PPR producer, catching 53 balls for 550 yards in 10 games. He only scored four touchdowns, but that number, as well as his other figures, could rise exponentially with Jimmy Graham and Kenny Stills both gone.

Projected 2015 Fantasy Stats: 105 catches. 1,260 yards. 9 total TDs.
    Projected 2015 Fantasy Points: 180.
Projected 2015 PPR Fantasy Points: 285.
