Prospect Summary:
Clemson has produced some excellent wide receiver prospects for the NFL under head coach Dabo Swinney, and Williams will continue that tradition in 2026. As a freshman in 2022, Williams had an impressive debut with 56 catches for 604 yards and four touchdowns. The next season, his numbers dipped (21-208-2), but in 2024, Williams was superb for Clemson, with 75 catches for 904 yards and 11 touchdowns. In 2025, Williams had 55 receptions for 604 yards and four touchdowns while missing some time with injuries.
For the NFL, Williams is a speed receiver with the ability to rip off a long reception on any given play. He is a fast receiver with easy acceleration to get downfield. Williams has a burst out of his breaks and a second gear that he uses to separate from defensive backs. With his speed, Williams is a threat to line up on the outside and take the top off of a defense. He is dangerous running deep posts and verticals along the sideline. With his quick twitch, Williams also could operate out of the slot in the NFL, along with being an X receiver on the outside.
With his speed and athleticism, Williams is a smooth route-runner and is consistently able to create separation from man coverage. While Williams is not a big receiver, he is aggressive at the catch point and will out-fight defensive backs for the ball. For his size, he shows strength and toughness while also looking fearless in the middle of the field. After the catch, Williams shows nice ability to run away from the defense, and he has some toughness to fight off defensive backs. Williams has good hands and shows some natural hand-catching ability. With his skill set, Williams looks like a potential starter in the NFL. He may not become a high-volume No. 1 receiver, but he could be an excellent No. 2 or 3 wideout.
In the 2026 NFL Draft, Williams could be a day-two pick. Check out my latest 2026 NFL Mock Draft to see where Williams is projected.
Prospect Comparison:
Hollywood Brown. Like Brown, Williams is a smaller speed receiver with durability issues.
