2026 NFL Scouting Report: Omar Cooper Jr.

Prospect Summary:

Cooper had a breakout 2025 season and helped Indiana win the National Championship. He lined up on the outside and was also a dangerous slot receiver for the Hoosiers, catching 69 passes for 937 yards and 13 touchdowns.

For the NFL, Cooper may not ever become a team’s No.1 wide receiver, but he could be a solid No.2 or 3 receiver. Ciioer is a polished route-runner who is smooth and doesn’t take extra steps in and out of his breaks. He has enough quickness through the route with suddenness to generate separation out of the break. Cooper has deceptive acceleration midway through the route, and he uses that to get open and run away from defenders after the catch. For Indiana, Cooper was a red zone weapon and showed a real knack for finding paydirt. As a pro, Cooper could work out of the slot or as an outside receiver.

There are some deficiencies that keep Cooper from being a true No. 1. He has a quality skill set, but lacks special size and does not have elite speed. He is not great on contested catches, and he has a tendency to body catch some passes that he could use his hands for.
