Penn State at Northwestern.
Line: Penn State by 15.5.

Saturday, 12:00 p.m.

Hopefully I can rebound from last week’s disaster. I did not expect 0-5. Vanderbilt would’ve covered if it wasn’t for a BS touchdown at the end, but it still was a horrible showing. Anyway, Penn State has always had trouble in Northwestern. Even the Orange Bowl team of 2005 nearly stumbled at that location. The Wildcats are competitive with Clayton Thorson, and they nearly took down Wisconsin last week. This line is +15.5 at Bovada, and I like that for three units.

Georgia at Vanderbilt.
Line: Georgia by 18.

Saturday, 12:00 p.m.

The public has driven this spread from +14 to +18, creating some terrific value with the Commodores. Vanderbilt should’ve had the cover last week – I’m having terrible luck in college as well – but the team should be competitive again versus Georgia. The Bulldogs have demolished their previous two opponents, but they nearly lost to Notre Dame before that, so I think they could come back down to Earth sooner or later.

Maryland at Ohio State.
Line: Ohio State by 30.5.

Saturday, 4:00 p.m.

I don’t understand this spread. Ohio State has struggled to cover against mediocre teams this year, while Maryland has gone on the road and beaten Texas and Minnesota. The Terps should keep this game close, covering the absurdly high line.

College Football Pick: Maryland +30.5 (3 Units) — Incorrect; -$330

Washington State at Oregon.
Line: Washington State by 2.5.

Saturday, 3:30 p.m.

It’s pretty telling that Pinnacle has this spread at pick ’em, yet it’s -2.5 elsewhere. The smartest book wants action on the Cougars, which makes sense because Oregon seems like the right side. The Ducks are a good team and should be able to pull the upset. Washington State just beat USC, but the Trojans weren’t that good in the first place. Oh, and by the way, this is Washington State’s first road game of the year!

College Football Pick: Oregon +2.5 (3 Units) — Incorrect; -$330

California at Washington.
Line: Washington by 27.5.

Saturday, 7:30 p.m.

This reminds me of California-USC a few weeks ago, when the overrated Trojans were favored by too much against a competitive Cal squad. The Bears should once again keep things close against a Washington squad that isn’t as good as people think they are.
