2019 Fantasy Football Rankings - Tight Ends (Aug. 29):
Top 10 | 11-20 | 21-45

Other Positions: QB | RB | WR | Top 250

  1. Delanie Walker, TE, Titans. Bye: 11.
AUG. 18 UPDATE: It was nice to see Delanie Walker on the field for the first time since his injury. Walker caught a pass while falling to the ground against the Patriots, indicating that he’s fully healthy. Walker later reeled in a touchdown. He finished with two receptions for 26 yards and a score in about a quarter of action.

Delanie Walker played just one game last year because of a broken ankle. He has yet to resume running, as of this writing, and he turns 35 in August, so it’s not looking good for the aging tight end.

Projected 2019 Fantasy Stats: 68 catches. 730 yards. 6 total TDs.
    Projected 2019 Fantasy Points: 109.
Projected 2019 PPR Fantasy Points: 177.

  2. Dallas Goedert, TE, Eagles. Bye: 10.
Dallas Goedert is a talented tight end who caught 33 passes for 334 yards and four touchdowns as a mere rookie. Goedert will have to be owned if Zach Ertz gets injured.

Projected 2019 Fantasy Stats: 54 catches. 610 yards. 6 total TDs.
    Projected 2019 Fantasy Points: 107.
Projected 2019 PPR Fantasy Points: 161.

  3. Darren Waller, TE, Raiders. Bye: 6.
Charlie Campbell said in our live fantasy football draft stream that the Raiders love Darren Waller, and that he’s been their best offensive player in training camp. I’m going to move Waller up my rankings, and I imagine I’ll be higher on him in PPR formats, given Derek Carr’s passing tendencies.

Projected 2019 Fantasy Stats: 53 catches. 690 yards. 5 total TDs.
    Projected 2019 Fantasy Points: 104.
Projected 2019 PPR Fantasy Points: 157.

  4. Chris Herndon, TE, Jets. Bye: 4.
JULY 8 UPDATE: Chris Herndon has worked hard to study film this offseason. He might be suspended for two games, but his outlook is very bright, especially considering Sam Darnold’s expected breakout campaign.

JUNE 17 UPDATE: Chris Herndon is facing a two-game suspension stemming from pleading guilty to DWI in January. I like Herndon as a 2019 Fantasy Football Sleepers candidate, but it’ll be difficult to draft him if he’s sidelined for a couple of games.

Chris Herndon was a fourth-round rookie who showed major potential in the second half of the season. From Week 6 onward, Herndon caught 34 passes for 455 yards and four touchdowns. If you expand that over 16 games, you get 49 receptions, 661 yards and five touchdowns, and he could be even better than that with him and Sam Darnold having more experience.

Projected 2019 Fantasy Stats: 53 catches. 690 yards. 5 total TDs.
    Projected 2019 Fantasy Points: 104.
Projected 2019 PPR Fantasy Points: 157.

  5. Trey Burton, TE, Bears. Bye: 6.
Trey Burton caught 54 passes for 569 yards and six touchdowns. Those numbers aren’t horrible, but they were still disappointing, as much more was expected from him after he signed a huge contract the previous spring. Perhaps Burton’s stats will improve next year if Mitchell Trubisky is able to progress in his development.

Projected 2019 Fantasy Stats: 62 catches. 680 yards. 6 total TDs.
    Projected 2019 Fantasy Points: 104.
Projected 2019 PPR Fantasy Points: 166.

  6. Vance McDonald, TE, Steelers. Bye: 7.
Vance McDonald is usually a solid play in favorable matchups, but he isn’t reliable enough to count on as an every-week starting tight end.

Projected 2019 Fantasy Stats: 57 catches. 670 yards. 6 total TDs.
    Projected 2019 Fantasy Points: 103.
Projected 2019 PPR Fantasy Points: 160.

  7. Mark Andrews, TE, Ravens. Bye: 8.
JULY 30 UPDATE: Mark Andrews has been terrific in training camp, according to Jeff Zrebiec of the Athletic. Lamar Jackson showed a good rapport with Andrews last year, so Andrews is worth a selection in the late rounds.

Mark Andrews has been the more productive of the young Baltimore tight ends thus far. It’s important to note that he showed a positive rapport with Lamar Jackson. Andrews isn’t worth drafting in 12-team leagues, but he’s someone who can be used in easy matchups.

Projected 2013 Fantasy Stats: 58 catches. 670 yards. 6 total TDs.
    Projected 2013 Fantasy Points: 103.
Projected 2013 PPR Fantasy Points: 161.

  8. Jimmy Graham, TE, Packers. Bye: 11.
Jimmy Graham has certainly regressed; he caught 55 passes for 636 yards and two touchdowns, with the first and last numbers being a low for him in a 16-game season in his career. Graham, 33 in November, doesn’t have much left in the tank.

Projected 2019 Fantasy Stats: 58 catches. 650 yards. 6 total TDs.
    Projected 2019 Fantasy Points: 101.
Projected 2019 PPR Fantasy Points: 159.

  9. Rob Gronkowski, TE, Patriots. Bye: 10.
There is now a 40-percent chance that Rob Gronkowski comes out of retirement and plays in 2019. It shouldn’t surprise anyone if Gronkowski joins the team after training camp, just in time for Week 1. He’s worth a late-round flier if you’re in a league that requires a backup tight end.

Projected 2019 Fantasy Stats: 46 catches. 590 yards. 6 total TDs.
    Projected 2019 Fantasy Points: 95.
Projected 2019 PPR Fantasy Points: 141.

  10. Kyle Rudolph, TE, Vikings. Bye: 12.
I thought Kyle Rudolph would benefit from having Kirk Cousins throwing to him, but the Vikings had to use Rudolph as a blocker way too often because their offensive line was awful. I thought Rudolph would do better in 2019 if Minnesota made upgrades to its offensive line, but Irv Smith Jr.’s presence complicates matters.

Projected 2019 Fantasy Stats: 50 catches. 530 yards. 5 total TDs.
    Projected 2019 Fantasy Points: 93.
Projected 2019 PPR Fantasy Points: 143.
