Aug. 20, 2009.
This is a real PPR Fantasy Football Draft I participated in on Sunday, Aug. 15. This league starts two running backs, two receivers and a flex. I’ve been in this league for a number of years and lost in the championship in 2008. Click here for this league’s 2008 Fantasy Football Draft.
Also, be sure to check out my other 2009 Fantasy Football articles, which will include rankings, sleepers, busts, cheat sheets and other things.
ROUND 1:
(1) The Reverend – Adrian Peterson RB
(2) The Cuyhoga Comeback Kids – Michael Turner RB
(3) Project Mayhem – Matt Forte RB
(4) Team Victory – Maurice Jones-Drew RB
(5) The Wolffe Pack – Larry Fitzgerald WR
(6) The Man Eaters – Steve Slaton RB
(7) Team Caveman – LaDainian Tomlinson RB
(8) WalterFootball.com – Chris Johnson RB
(9) The Injured Reserve – Andre Johnson WR
(10) The Body Burners (Two-Time Champ) – DeAngelo Williams RB
(11) McLovin – Steven Jackson RB
(12) The Dead Rabbits –DeAngelo Williams RBRandy Moss WR
LEAGUE BACKGROUND: Last year, I said I wouldn’t give out the worst pick each round because I didn’t want the fantasy football gods smiting me in a money league.
Well, I’d like to change things up. I’m going to give you the best pick(s) each round and list each owner’s worst selection, including my own.
A few things of note before we begin:
1. The owner of this house instituted a “No Vick Rule.” She said that anyone who took QB Dog Killer would be asked to leave. Everyone seemed to agree that this was a good idea, or at least I’d like to think so.
2. Two league members who are brothers have the last name “Wolf.” However, the “Wolffe Pack” guy has a completely different last name. This caused much confusion, particularly on my part.
3. The Reverend insisted on listing each player’s name, position, college and sexual preference. I’m not sure which fantasy guide lists each player’s sexual preference, but they apparently have some pretty damn good inside information.
4. The Body Burners is the two-time defending champion; he beat me in the finals last year, and earlier declared that he has a 75-percent chance of winning this league. I told him he had a 16.7-percent chance. Trash talking at its finest.
ANALYSIS: A pretty typical first-round PPR league draft, except for at the very end, when the Dead Rabbits attempted to pick DeAngelo Williams, who was already off the board. I’ve seen this happen in Round 6 or Round 8, but never in Round 1. To be fair, the picks were being announced very quickly.
BEST PICK: Project Mayhem was very fortunate to get Matt Forte at No. 3. That would be my best pick, except for the fact that LaDainian Tomlinson fell all the way to Team Caveman at No. 7.
The Cuyhoga Comeback Kids’ WORST PICK: I said I’d give you everyone’s worst selection. The Cuyhoga Comeback Kids made his in the first round. I don’t get how you can take Michael Turner in the first 12 selections of a PPR draft, let alone at No. 2 overall. Forget that Turner will be worn down after 390 carries last year and the fact that Atlanta’s 2009 schedule is infinitely tougher; Turner caught only six passes in 2008. When The Reverend passed on Matt Forte and Maurice Jones-Drew, The Cuyhoga Comeback Kids should have obtained one of those two.
ROUND 2:
(1) The Dead Rabbits – Brandon Jacobs RB
(2) McLovin – Frank Gore RB
(3) The Body Burners (Two-Time Champ) – Calvin Johnson WR
(4) The Injured Reserve – Clinton Portis RB
(5) WalterFootball.com – Kevin Smith RB
(6) Team Caveman – Knowshon Moreno RB
(7) The Man Eaters – Greg Jennings WR
(8) The Wolffe Pack – Drew Brees QB
(9) Team Victory – Steve Smith WR
(10) Project Mayhem – Tom Brady QB
(11) The Cuyhoga Comeback Kids – Ronnie Brown RB
(12) The Reverend – Peyton Manning QB
ANALYSIS: Wow! Kevin Smith and Knowshon Moreno in Round 2? As you can probably guess, several league members printed out my cheat sheet.
I was hoping Calvin Johnson or Clinton Portis would fall to me. When they were gone, I considered Kevin Smith because I just watched Detroit’s preseason opener and was very intrigued by how much they were featuring him. I knew Smith wouldn’t fall back to me because The Man-Eaters loved him, and since we can start three running backs, my plan was to get Moreno in Round 3. If not Moreno, then Marques Colston or Roddy White.
By the way, I’m not listing Moreno as a worst selection. Even though he went a bit early, this was the right spot for him based on how well he’s going to do this season. Besides, both The Man-Eaters and The Wolffe Pack later revealed that they were planning on taking Moreno in Round 3.
BEST PICK: I don’t understand why Clinton Portis is falling to the second round of most fantasy drafts. I would have loved Portis at 2.05, but The Injured Reserve did a good job plucking him off the board. By the way, I’ll give you three guesses as to which member of the forums The Injured Reserve is.
ROUND 3:
(1) The Reverend – Reggie Wayne WR
(2) The Cuyhoga Comeback Kids – Brian Westbrook RB
(3) Project Mayhem – Anquan Boldin WR
(4) Team Victory – Derrick Ward RB
(5) The Wolffe Pack – Darren McFadden RB
(6) The Man Eaters – Roddy White WR
(7) Team Caveman – Marques Colston WR
(8) WalterFootball.com – Pierre Thomas RB
(9) The Injured Reserve – Marion Barber RB
(10) The Body Burners (Two-Time Champ) – Wes Welker WR
(11) McLovin – Aaron Rodgers QB
(12) The Dead Rabbits –Wes Welker WRTony Romo QB
ANALYSIS: If you’re keeping track at home, Reggie Wayne is old and straight, according to The Reverend.
And by the way, The Dead Rabbits once again tried taking a player who was off the board. Way to pay attention!
Of course, my plan backfires. My hopes of getting Knowshon Moreno, Marques Colston or Roddy White is debacled when two of the three were taken off the board right before my selection. I “settled” for Pierre Thomas, whom I’m also high on. I just don’t trust Sean Payton; he’s done some crazy stuff in the past.
BEST PICK: I’ll give The Man Eaters (the only female owner in this league) and Team Caveman some dap for stealing my picks.
The Wolffe Pack’s WORST PICK: I don’t mind Darren McFadden late in the fourth or early in the fifth round, but getting him in the middle of Round 3 was a reach. There’s no guarantee McFadden will get the goal-line carries, and trusting any Oakland Raider is like having faith that Al Davis won’t sacrifice a virgin you leave in his office.
ROUND 4:
(1) The Dead Rabbits – Jason Witten TE
(2) McLovin – Chad Ochocinco WR
(3) The Body Burners (Two-Time Champ) – Ray Rice RB
(4) The Injured Reserve – T.J. Houshmandzadeh WR
(5) WalterFootball.com – Terrell Owens WR
(6) Team Caveman – Dwayne Bowe WR
(7) The Man Eaters – Thomas Jones RB
(8) The Wolffe Pack – Reggie Bush RB
(9) Team Victory – Joseph Addai RB
(10) Project Mayhem – Brandon Marshall WR
(11) The Cuyhoga Comeback Kids – Philip Rivers QB
(12) The Reverend – Ryan Grant RB
ANALYSIS: We’ve established that Reggie Wayne is old and straight. The Reverend announces that Ryan Grant is “gay, but interested in men.” No one has figured that one out yet.
Anyway, I hate drafting this early in August. I didn’t get to see the Chiefs-Texans game, so I stayed away from Dwayne Bowe because I read reports that he was 300 pounds and moved to the third string. Thus, I took Terrell Owens instead. A few hours later, I would kick myself.
BEST PICK: It was the first of a few times that McLovin would steal my pick, though I would get him back later. I love Chad Ochocinco this year, and I was ready to take him at 4.05.
Team Victory’s WORST PICK: I doubt I’d take Joseph Addai in the eighth round, let alone the fourth. Donald Brown is the superior of the two running backs, and it’s not even close. Addai is injury-prone and unreliable. Brown is the guy you want on your fantasy team.
ROUND 5:
(1) The Reverend – Braylon Edwards WR
(2) The Cuyhoga Comeback Kids – Antonio Bryant WR
(3) Project Mayhem – Marshawn Lynch RB
(4) Team Victory – Vincent Jackson WR
(5) The Wolffe Pack – Donald Brown RB
(6) The Man Eaters – LenDale White RB
(7) Team Caveman – DeSean Jackson WR
(8) WalterFootball.com – Eddie Royal WR
(9) The Injured Reserve – Roy Williams WR
(10) The Body Burners (Two-Time Champ) – Anthony Gonzalez WR
(11) McLovin – Antonio Gates TE
(12) The Dead Rabbits – Santonio Holmes WR
ANALYSIS: The Dead Rabbits used a break in the action to ask The Man Eaters: “Does your team name mean that you’re a whore?”
I forgot what the Man Eaters said back to him, but I would have responded with: “Does your team name mean that you electrocute rabbits with jumper cables and drown them in your pool? If so, you’re going to go to jail for 18 months and sign a $6 million deal with the Eagles.” Wait a second, that’s not much of an insult…
BEST PICK: I’m going to pat myself on the back here. I love Eddie Royal this year. He’s going to be used as the Wes Welker of Denver’s offense, and it really helps that Kyle Orton can’t make an NFL throw longer than five yards. As I joked before, Royal could conceivably catch 200 passes for 1,000 yards this year, and it wouldn’t surprise me one bit.
The Man Eater’s WORST PICK: Speaking of the Man Eaters, I really dislike her pick of LenDale White here. White is fine in traditional and touchdown leagues, but he has very little appeal in the fifth round of a PPR format. He just doesn’t catch any passes (five in 2008). If Chris Johnson gets hurt, this pick will look a lot better, but I wouldn’t count on an injury this high in a fantasy draft.
ROUND 6:
(1) The Dead Rabbits – Ben Roethlisberger QB
(2) McLovin – Lee Evans WR
(3) The Body Burners (Two-Time Champ) – Matt Ryan QB
(4) The Injured Reserve – Tony Gonzalez TE
(5) WalterFootball.com – Donovan McNabb QB
(6) Team Caveman – Chris Wells RB
(7) The Man Eaters – Jonathan Stewart RB
(8) The Wolffe Pack – Jerricho Cotchery WR
(9) Team Victory – Dallas Clark TE
(10) Project Mayhem – Kellen Winslow Jr. TE
(11) The Cuyhoga Comeback Kids – Bernard Berrian WR
(12) The Reverend – Cedric Benson RB
ANALYSIS: Being in Philadelphia, I’ve never had Donovan McNabb in a money league before, so this intrigues me. Unfortunately, the Eagles’ signing of QB Dog Killer means the team is karmically screwed. McNabb’s going to tear an ACL in the next few weeks, I’m telling you.
BEST PICK: McNabb was the best player on my board, but that wasn’t the case one selection earlier. I was hoping for Tony Gonzalez, but The Injured Reserve stole him away from me. Jerk!
The Dead Rabbits’ WORST PICK: Ben Roethlisberger in Round 6? Seriously? The Dead Rabbits is a Steelers fan, but even if he wanted Big Ben, he could have just waited until the Round 8-9 wrap-around.
Making this pick worse is the fact that Roethlisberger is The Dead Rabbits’ backup quarterback. Matt McGuire wrote an article on why you shouldn’t draft Backup Fantasy Quarterbacks early (in Rounds 8-9). I think Matt would have an aneurysm if he saw this selection.
ROUND 7:
(1) The Reverend – Santana Moss WR
(2) The Cuyhoga Comeback Kids – Kevin Walter WR
(3) Project Mayhem – Hines Ward WR
(4) Team Victory – Laveranues Coles WR
(5) The Wolffe Pack – Derrick Mason WR
(6) The Man Eaters – Jay Cutler QB
(7) Team Caveman – Kurt Warner QB
(8) WalterFootball.com – Chris Cooley TE
(9) The Injured Reserve – LeSean McCoy RB
(10) The Body Burners (Two-Time Champ) – Darren Sproles RB
(11) McLovin – Donald Driver WR
(12) The Dead Rabbits – Larry Johnson RB
ANALYSIS: Take note that Santana Moss is “straight, but gay on Tuesdays.” I totally have to steal The Reverend’s fantasy mag next year for this inside info.
Funny quote by The Dead Rabbits: “Kevin Walter’s overrated. I don’t even know who he is.”
BEST PICK: I was pretty mad when Moss and Derrick Mason were taken; they were the best players on my board. With that tier of receivers completely wiped out, I had to take a tight end early, which I hate doing.
ROUND 8:
(1) The Dead Rabbits – Donnie Avery WR
(2) McLovin – Willie Parker RB
(3) The Body Burners (Two-Time Champ) – Owen Daniels TE
(4) The Injured Reserve – Matt Schaub QB
(5) WalterFootball.com – Torry Holt WR
(6) Team Caveman – Jamal Lewis RB
(7) The Man Eaters – Devin Hester WR
(8) The Wolffe Pack – Felix Jones RB
(9) Team Victory – Carson Palmer QB
(10) Project Mayhem – Laurence Maroney RB
(11) The Cuyhoga Comeback Kids – Julius Jones RB
(12) The Reverend – John Carlson TE
BEST PICK: Team Victory waited until the eighth round to draft his starting quarterback. Though he was the last person to do so, he managed to land a pretty talented signal-caller. I love Carson Palmer this year. I love him so much that it ties into…
WalterFootball.com’s WORST PICK: This is an example of lazy drafting. I was hoping to get Palmer as my backup quarterback in the eighth or ninth round for two reasons. First, I think he’s going to have a great year (just in case you haven’t realized this yet). Second, I don’t trust McNabb to stay healthy, especially with QB Dog Killer on the roster.
When I was on the clock, I counted the number of quarterbacks who were taken. I came up with 12. Awesome. No one was going to draft a backup anytime soon, so I could wait until Round 9 to get Palmer. So, I went with the unspectacular Torry Holt instead.
I slammed my fist onto the table when Palmer went off the board. I thought to myself, “Who f***ing drafts a backup quarterback this early!? (Besides me of course.)” I then looked at Team Victory’s roster and noticed that Palmer was his starter.
When counting quarterbacks, I didn’t realize that someone (cough, The Dead Rabbits, sneeze) took a backup already. I should have looked at everyone’s roster, but thanks to the stupor I was in after eating four slices of pizza, I lazily just counted instead. I’ve been debacled.
McLovin’s WORST PICK: If you’ve been keeping up with my 2009 Fantasy Football Rankings, you know I hate Willie Parker this year. McLovin clearly doesn’t visit my site enough. Shame on McLovin.
To summarize, Parker’s done. He has back problems, which tend to linger. He doesn’t catch passes. He doesn’t get goal-line carries. He’ll relinquish rushes to Rashard Mendenhall. I just don’t see him contributing much to McLovin’s team.
ROUND 9:
(1) The Reverend – Steelers Defense
(2) The Cuyhoga Comeback Kids – Greg Olsen TE
(3) Project Mayhem – Michael Crabtree WR
(4) Team Victory – Domenik Hixon WR
(5) The Wolffe Pack – Steve Breaston WR
(6) The Man Eaters – Hakeem Nicks WR
(7) Team Caveman – Darrius Heyward-Bey WR
(8) WalterFootball.com – Fred Jackson RB
(9) The Injured Reserve – Lance Moore WR
(10) The Body Burners (Two-Time Champ) – Ted Ginn Jr. WR
(11) McLovin – Jerious Norwood RB
(12) The Dead Rabbits – Chris Henry WR
ANALYSIS: Looking at his roster, The Reverend proudly declared, “I have a lot of gay guys on my team.” Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
BY the way, this is where I got back McLovin for stealing Chad Ochocinco. McLovin took a peek at my computer and noticed that I had Fred Jackson as my best player available. He begged and pleaded for me not to take Jackson, but I did not oblige. I told him I’d lay off Jackson if he gave me Ochocinco for free. He did not accept my offer. What a fool!
BEST PICK: Greg Olsen’s going to blow up this year. The Cuyhoga Comeback Kids got a steal in Round 9.
Project Mayhem’s WORST PICK: Michael Crabtree didn’t even sign with the 49ers yet. If/when he does, he’ll have to learn a pro-style offense and transition out of the Texas Tech offense. I would not have drafted Crabtree if he was available in Round 16.
Team Caveman’s WORST PICK: Another rookie who sucks is Darrius Heyward-Bey. He couldn’t catch a cold if it hit him right in the numbers. JaMarcus Russell is a fat sloth and won’t lead the Raiders to many scoring drives. I would have avoided Heyward-Bey in Round 16 as well.
ROUND 10:
(1) The Dead Rabbits – Tim Hightower RB
(2) McLovin – Josh Morgan WR
(3) The Body Burners (Two-Time Champ) – Jamaal Charles RB
(4) The Injured Reserve – Chris Chambers WR
(5) WalterFootball.com – Ahmad Bradshaw RB
(6) Team Caveman – Visanthe Shiancoe TE
(7) The Man Eaters – Shonn Greene RB
(8) The Wolffe Pack – Justin Gage WR
(9) Team Victory – Michael Bush RB
(10) Project Mayhem – Mark Clayton WR
(11) The Cuyhoga Comeback Kids – David Garrard QB
(12) The Reverend – Eli Manning QB
ANALYSIS: McLovin got me back. I love Josh Morgan as a sleeper this year and was planning to take him at 10.05. Check out the following exchange that really pissed me off:
McLovin: Hey Walt, who’s the No. 1 receiver for the 49ers?
Me: I don’t know man.
McLovin: Come on, you know. Who is it?
Me (pissed off): Ugh, I dunno. There’s nothing official yet.
McLovin: Hmmm…
McLovin feverishly flips through his fantasy mag.
McLovin: I’m going to take Josh Morgan!
Me: Noooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BEST PICK: I guess I have to give it to McLovin, though I may have the last laugh. Ahmad Bradshaw was awesome on Monday night, so I’m thrilled I drafted him.
The Reverend’s WORST PICK: I understand the need for a backup quarterback, but Eli Manning? You can obtain someone in Round 14 who is just as good in the fantasy realm. It’s not like this league gives out points for slurred words in an interview.
The Injured Reserve’s WORST PICK: Chris Chambers would have been a good selection in 2005, but he hasn’t done anything since that year. In the past three seasons, Chambers hasn’t topped 66 catches, 970 receiving yards and five touchdowns. The Chargers have a ton of options on offense, so Chambers isn’t going to catch many balls.
ROUND 11:
(1) The Reverend – Nate Washington WR
(2) The Cuyhoga Comeback Kids – Deion Branch WR
(3) Project Mayhem – Ravens Defense
(4) Team Victory – Matt Hasselbeck QB
(5) The Wolffe Pack – Rashard Mendenhall RB
(6) The Man Eaters – Giants Defense
(7) Team Caveman – Eagles Defense
(8) WalterFootball.com – Chaz Schilens WR
(9) The Injured Reserve – Vikings Defense
(10) The Body Burners (Two-Time Champ) – Willis McGahee RB
(11) McLovin – Kevin Curtis WR
(12) The Dead Rabbits – Earnest Graham RB
ANALYSIS: Hilarious moment. Someone mentioned something about this not being a keeper league. The Reverend, who was doing something at the time, stopped everything and shouted, “Whoa, whoa, whoa, this is a keeper league!?”
By the way, I drafted Chaz Schilens this early because he was the best player available on my cheat sheet. Since four people had my cheat sheet, I thought someone else might draft him before Round 12. Unfortunately, Schilens has since been injured and may not play until Week 3 or 4.
BEST PICK: I liked the running backs drafted in this round. Rashard Mendenhall, Willis McGahee and Earnest Graham all have tremendous upside, which is what you should be looking for in Rounds 11 and on.
ROUND 12:
(1) The Dead Rabbits – Fred Taylor RB
(2) McLovin – Trent Edwards QB
(3) The Body Burners (Two-Time Champ) – Brent Celek TE
(4) The Injured Reserve – Ricky Williams RB
(5) WalterFootball.com – Chester Taylor RB
(6) Team Caveman – Matthew Stafford QB
(7) The Man Eaters – Devin Thomas WR
(8) The Wolffe Pack – Zach Miller TE
(9) Team Victory – Jets Defense
(10) Project Mayhem – Heath Miller TE
(11) The Cuyhoga Comeback Kids – Titans Defense
(12) The Reverend – Correll Buckhalter RB
ANALYSIS: I figure I’ll stash Chester Taylor on my roster just in case Adrian Peterson gets hurt. Peterson was considered injury-prone before the 2008 season, so there’s always a chance he goes down. And if he doesn’t, Taylor is still a talented running back who will catch enough passes to be a solid bye-week filler.
BEST PICK: I just saw Matthew Stafford’s performance against the Falcons, so I was hoping to steal him late. Props to Team Caveman for getting him.
The Body Burners’ WORST PICK: The Body Burners has a good team, so it was tough to find a worst pick. I will, however, get on him for taking a backup tight end. He’s never going to bench Owen Daniels, so Brent Celek’s never going to play. If Daniels gets hurt, The Body Burners can simply pick up an undrafted tight end like Chris Baker or Tony Scheffler. There is no reason to carry two tight ends on your fantasy roster unless you’re playing in a very deep league (14-plus teams and 18-plus roster spots).
ROUND 13:
(1) The Reverend – Miles Austin WR
(2) The Cuyhoga Comeback Kids – Dustin Keller TE
(3) Project Mayhem – Matt Cassel QB
(4) Team Victory – Leon Washington RB
(5) The Wolffe Pack – Mushin Muhammad WR
(6) The Man Eaters – Jason Campbell QB
(7) Team Caveman – Bo Scaife TE
(8) WalterFootball.com – Davone Bess WR
(9) The Injured Reserve – James Davis RB
(10) The Body Burners (Two-Time Champ) – Joe Flacco QB
(11) McLovin – Jeremy Shockey TE
(12) The Dead Rabbits – Isaac Bruce WR
ANALYSIS: I’m pretty sure I picked up Davone Bess late in the season in this league last year and he was great for me because he caught at least six passes every game. Chad Pennington has a noodle arm, so he’ll get the ball to Bess a ton.
BEST PICK: James Davis is a steal with a ton of upside in Round 13. I already had six running backs on my roster, so I had no room for him. The Injured Reserve, meanwhile, has yet another potential starting running back on his roster.
ROUND 14:
(1) The Dead Rabbits – QB Dog Killer QB
(2) McLovin – T.J. Duckett RB
(3) The Body Burners (Two-Time Champ) – Justin Fargas RB
(4) The Injured Reserve – Le’Ron McClain RB
(5) WalterFootball.com – Chargers Defense
(6) Team Caveman – Sammy Morris RB
(7) The Man Eaters – Kevin Boss TE
(8) The Wolffe Pack – Patriots Defense
(9) Team Victory – Rob Bironas K
(10) Project Mayhem – Mason Crosby K
(11) The Cuyhoga Comeback Kids – Mark Bradley WR
(12) The Reverend – Anthony Fasano TE
ANALYSIS: Oh, no! The (aptly named) Dead Rabbits took QB Dog Killer. We were all stunned. Responded The Dead Rabbits as he was walking away, “Well, I already ate.”
I have to give a ton of credit to The Man Eaters, who wrote “QB Dog Killer” on the board when The Dead Rabbits announced his pick.
Also, major dap to this league; no one drafted a kicker until Round 14. Still a bit too early, but it’s better than having some doofus who takes a kicker in Round 11.
BEST PICK: It’s only fitting that The Man Eaters had the best selection of this round. Kevin Boss is her starting tight end. And guess what? He’s almost as good as the tight ends taken in Rounds 7-11.
ROUND 15:
(1) The Reverend – Stephen Gostkowski K
(2) The Cuyhoga Comeback Kids – Nate Kaeding K
(3) Project Mayhem – Kevin Faulk RB
(4) Team Victory – Todd Heap TE
(5) The Wolffe Pack – Garrett Hartley K
(6) The Man Eaters – Earl Bennett WR
(7) Team Caveman – Ryan Longwell K
(8) WalterFootball.com – Sage Rosenfails QB
(9) The Injured Reserve – Jason Elam K
(10) The Body Burners (Two-Time Champ) – Neil Rackers K
(11) McLovin – Bears Defense
(12) The Dead Rabbits – Cowboys Defense
ANALYSIS: I don’t have the best quarterback situation in the world. I waited until Round 15 to get my backup to Donovan McNabb. I liked Sage Rosenfails, but he’s now out of commission because of Brett Favre’s silly comeback (read the Brett Favre Vikings Signing Analysis here).
It just didn’t work out for me… every time I planned on drafting a specific backup, he was taken a few selections before my pick. From Carson Palmer, to Matthew Stafford, to Matt Hasselbeck, to Joe Flacco, all of the late-round signal-callers I wanted were plucked off the board right before I was up.
BEST PICK: The Man Eaters strikes again with Earl Bennett, a player with a ton of upside. Also, we were all astonished that Chicago’s defense was still on the board at 15.11.
ROUND 16:
(1) The Dead Rabbits – David Akers K
(2) McLovin – Nick Folk K
(3) The Body Burners (Two-Time Champ) – Dolphins Defense
(4) The Injured Reserve – Kyle Orton QB
(5) WalterFootball.com – Kris Brown K
(6) Team Caveman – Brady Quinn QB
(7) The Man Eaters – Robbie Gould K
(8) The Wolffe Pack – Jake Delhomme QB
(9) Team Victory – Nate Burleson WR
(10) Project Mayhem – Bobby Engram WR
(11) The Cuyhoga Comeback Kids – Tashard Choice RB
(12) The Reverend – Colts Defense
ANALYSIS: The Reverend wanted his “Mr. Irrelevant” to be “Misters Irrelevant.” That’s why he took a backup defense.
BEST PICK: I’d say Tashard Choice because he’ll shine if there’s an injury. However, the real best selections belong to anyone who waited for a kicker until the last round. There were four of us. I suppose I should have asked The Reverend what each kicker’s sexual preference is, but no one cares about kickers.
