2013 Fantasy Football Rookie Rankings (Dynasty)

Aug. 28, 2013

There are many more 2013 Fantasy Football Rankings and features here, including tons of 2013 Fantasy Football Mock Drafts, Player Rankings, Sleepers and Busts. Also, an extensive 2013 NFL Fantasy Football Preseason Stock Report.

2013 Fantasy Football Rookie Rankings: Dynasty

  1. Eddie Lacy, RB, Packers
With Johnathan Franklin struggling, the starting running back job in Green Bay appears to be Eddie Lacy’s for a long time.

  2. Giovani Bernard, RB, Bengals
The Bengals drafted Giovani Bernard before any other running back because they like his ability to catch the ball out of the backfield and play on third down. Bernard has Doug Martin potential for this reason.

  3. Tavon Austin, WR, Rams
If any of these rookie wideouts are going to produce, it’ll be Tavon Austin, who will be an instant starter as the slot receiver in St. Louis’ offense. Austin will play Danny Amendola’s role, and Amendola caught 63 passes for 666 yards in 11 games in 2012. Austin figures to be more durable than Amendola.

  4. Kenbrell Thompkins, WR, Patriots
Kenbrell Thompkins has been Tom Brady’s favorite receiver not named Danny Amendola this preseason. Thompkins has impressed so much that he’s near the top of my Fantasy Football Sleepers list.

  5. DeAndre Hopkins, WR, Texans
DeAndre Hopkins has been good enough to claim Houston’s No. 2 receiving job. He should be a decent fantasy producer for years to come.

  6. Marcus Lattimore, RB, 49ers
Marcus Lattimore may not play a single snap this season. He may not even see the field much in 2014. But he’ll be a stud fantasy back in 2015 and beyond when Frank Gore’s contract expires.

  7. Christine Michael, RB, Seahawks
It’ll be tough for Christine Michael to receive playing time this year unless Marshawn Lynch goes down, but I love him as a long-term option. He’s very talented, so he’ll probably be a first-round fantasy pick at some point.

  8. Montee Ball, RB, Broncos
Montee Ball shouldered a ridiculous workload at Wisconsin. His pass-protection skills aren’t any good either. He’s overrated.

  9. Le’Veon Bell, RB, Steelers
Le’Veon Bell dealt with numerous injuries even before he was knocked out until Week 6. Bell looked like nothing more than a typical Big Ten plodder in his brief preseason action.

  10. Tyler Eifert, TE, Bengals
Tyler Eifert has great long-term fantasy potential, given that Andy Dalton’s physical limitations will have him favor the Notre Dame prospect over the middle of the field.

  11. Cordarrelle Patterson, WR, Vikings
Cordarrelle Patterson has all the talent in the world, but he won’t reach his statistical potential as long as Christian Ponder is his quarterback. If the Vikings ever get a big upgrade at signal-caller, Patterson could be a fantasy stud.

  12. Kenny Stills, WR, Saints
Kenny Stills appears to have won the No. 3 receiving job in New Orleans. Anyone who plays with Drew Brees always has the potential to be a big producer.

  13. E.J. Manuel, QB, Bills
There’s some Vince Young potential here – as in Manuel putting up solid fantasy numbers at first but then eventually getting benched because of dumb mistakes.

  14. Quinton Patton, WR, 49ers
Quinton Patton is a gifted receiver who will always be on a team because of his blocking ability. Patton has flashed in the preseason, so there’s a chance he’ll produce this year.

  15. Markus Wheaton, WR, Steelers
Markus Wheaton was the star receiver at the Senior Bowl. He’s very fast and should be able to take over Mike Wallace’s role in the offense. He’ll start sooner rather than later.

  16. Robert Woods, WR, Bills
It’ll be hard to like Robert Woods as long as E.J. Manuel is his quarterback. He has shown positive signs in the preseason, however.

  17. Keenan Allen, WR, Chargers
Keenan Allen might be able to develop into an Anquan Boldin type of player. Unfortunately, it’s unknown whether or not Philip Rivers will ever be the same quarterback.

  18. Stepfan Taylor, RB, Cardinals
Both Rashard Mendenhall and Ryan Williams are unreliable, so Stepfan Taylor might just be able to emerge as the starting running back at some point during the season. He’s worth a late-round flier in normal leagues.

  19. Zac Stacy, RB, Rams
Zac Stacy couldn’t beat out the indifferent Isaiah Pead for the No. 2 running back job. Not good.

  20. Zach Ertz, TE, Eagles
Zach Ertz could be a TE1 down the road, but the Eagles have so many players who will cancel each other out at the position.

  21. Joseph Randle, RB, Cowboys
Joseph Randle is currently the fourth running back on Dallas’ depth chart. It’s never good when you can’t beat out Lance Dunbar or Phillip Tanner.

  22. Johnathan Franklin, RB, Packers
Johnathan Franklin has been pretty pedestrian this preseason. He’s nowhere near displacing Eddie Lacy as the starting running back.

  23. Denard Robinson, RB, Jaguars
The Jaguars are listing Denard Robinson as an “OW” (offensive weapon), meaning they plan on using him all over the field.

  24. Knile Davis, RB, Chiefs
Knile Davis will be out of the league rather quickly if his fumbling issues persist. He hasn’t shown anything positive during the preseason.

  25. Geno Smith, QB, Jets
I have my doubts about whether Geno Smith can ever turn into a fantasy QB1. He doesn’t even have the weapons to be successful now.

  26. Aaron Dobson, WR, Patriots
I’ve learned long ago to never trust a receiver drafted by Bill Belichick. Let someone else have Aaron Dobson.

  27. Justin Hunter, WR, Titans
Justin Hunter hasn’t been able to crack the starting lineup, as there appear to be some motivational issues.

  28. Stedman Bailey, WR, Rams
Stedman Bailey could leap the raw Brian Quick on the depth chart at some point.

  29. Marquise Goodwin, WR, Bills
Marquise Goodwin is fast like Tavon Austin, but he’s not nearly as pro-ready as the West Virginia wideout. Goodwin will need some time to develop, but he could eventually transform into an OK PPR option.

  30. Travis Kelce, TE, Chiefs
Travis Kelce has a chance to be a borderline TE1 throughout his career, but he has to stay clean; he’s had off-the-field issues in the past.

  31. Mike James, RB, Buccaneers
Mike James isn’t going to be starting for the Buccaneers unless Doug Martin gets hurt.

  32. Kenjon Barner, RB, Panthers
  33. Brice Butler, WR, Raiders
  34. Marquess Wilson, WR, Bears
  35. Vance McDonald, TE, 49ers
  36. Luke Willson, TE, Seahawks
  37. Jordan Reed, TE, Redskins
  38. Mike Gillislee, RB, Dolphins
  39. Josh Boyce, WR, Patriots
  40. Andre Ellington, RB, Cardinals
  41. Chris Thompson, RB, Redskins
  42. Jawan Jamison, RB, Redskins
  43. Theo Riddick, RB, Lions
  44. Aaron Mellette, WR, Ravens
  45. Gavin Escobar, TE, Cowboys
  46. Mychal Rivera, TE, Raiders
  47. Ace Sanders, WR, Jaguars
  48. Chris Harper, WR, Seahawks
  49. Kerwynn Williams, RB, Colts
  50. Mike Glennon, QB, Buccaneers
  51. Matt Barkley, QB, Eagles
  52. Chris Gragg, TE, Bills
  53. Dion Sims, TE, Dolphins
  54. Michael Cox, RB, Giants
  55. Spencer Ware, RB, Seahawks
  56. Rex Burkhead, RB, Bengals
  57. Ryan Griffin, TE, Texans
  58. Nick Kasa, TE, Raiders
  59. Michael Williams, TE, Lions
  60. Cobi Hamilton, WR, Bengals
  61. Corey Fuller, WR, Lions
  62. Justin Brown, WR, Steelers
  63. Caleb Sturgis, K, Dolphins
  64. Dustin Hopkins, K, Bills
  65. Levine Toilolo, TE, Falcons
  66. Tavarres King, WR, Broncos
  67. Alan Bonner, WR, Texans
  68. Charles Johnson, WR, Packers
  69. Kevin Dorsey, WR, Dolphins
  70. D.C. Jefferson, TE, Cardinals
  71. Justice Cunningham, TE, Colts
  72. Ryan Nassib, QB, Giants
  73. B.J. Daniels, QB, 49ers
  74. Latavius Murray, RB, Raiders
  75. Matt Scott, QB, Jaguars
  76. Brad Sorensen, QB, Chargers
  77. Zac Dysert, QB, Broncos
  78. Sean Renfree, QB, Falcons
  79. Landry Jones, QB, Steelers
  80. Tyler Wilson, QB, Raiders
