This page lists all the 2026 NFL Signings for the Minnesota Vikings. I’ve listed all of the NFL Free Agent Signing Grades here, which included the Signings. Because I’ve begun posting polls for the Signings, I thought it would make sense to list just the NFL Signings here, so archiving the voting would be easier.

March 2026 – Signings
Vikings sign OT Ryan Van Demark (1 year, $4.2 million): A+ Grade
signed on 3/22/2026
This signing obviously pales in comparison to Friday’s move when the Vikings signed Ed Murbanks, but adding Ryan Van Demark is another solid move for Minnesota.
Christian Darrisaw is an All-Pro tackle when healthy, but he hasn’t been able to stay healthy. The Vikings did well to recognize that they need a quality backup for Darrisaw, and that’s exactly what Van Demark is. Van Demark filled in very well for the Bills last year, performing well in pass protection. Even better, Van Demark was signed to just a 1-year deal, so there are no long-term risks involved with this acquisition.

Vikings re-sign QB Carson Wentz: B+ Grade
signed on 3/19/2026
The Vikings calling the Bengals to potentially trade for Joe Burrow made a lot of sense. Signing Kyler Murray to a 1-year contract worth the minimum was also a logical decision. This move is more surprising, as Carson Wentz is returning to join Murray and J.J. McCarthy in a weird three-man competition.
Despite this being an odd signing, I don’t hate it. Wentz is returning for just one year, so there are no long-term ramifications of this contract. Besides, the Vikings are starved for quality quarterback play, so it can’t hurt to have another veteran in the room to compete with two first-round busts.

Vikings sign QB Kyler Murray (1 year, minimum): A Grade
signed on 3/12/2026
There are a wide range of opinions on Kyler Murray. One dingus on NFL Network ranked Murray as his No. 4 overall free agent, even above Trey Hendrickson. This Adam Brody look-alike probably would’ve had a seizure if he read a response from my friend, Joe from the Fantasy Counselor, who said, “Murray is useless.”
Joe is right. Murray has a very extensive injury history and has shown an inability to get the ball to his best players. Murray wasn’t even the best quarterback on the Cardinals last year, as Jacoby Brissett outplayed him. We didn’t think Trey McBride was capable of scoring touchdowns until Brissett took over as the starter. Murray has rushing upside, but that’s about it.
Despite Murray being a pedestrian quarterback, this signing can’t be graded poorly. The Vikings aren’t paying Murray anything above the veteran minimum because the Cardinals are footing the bill. And as bad as Murray’s been, J.J. McCarthy was worse last year. The Vikings will be able to have McCarthy compete with a veteran presence in training camp, so if that pushes him and makes him better, then this signing will be a success.

Vikings sign CB James Pierre (2 years, $8.5 million): B+ Grade
signed on 3/9/2026
Cornerback was an area the Vikings had to address this offseason. They needed two, so we can cross off half of a need.
James Pierre isn’t an amazing player, but he’s solid and has worked with Brian Flores in the past when the two were in Pittsburgh together. I like this signing, as Pierre won’t have a transition period, and the compensation is fair.

Vikings re-sign LB Eric Wilson (3 years, $22.5 million): C+ Grade
signed on 3/9/2026
The Vikings did not evaluate their quarterback situation well last offseason, and it cost them. We’re seeing a habit of this, as the Vikings weren’t able to appropriately determine the value of their own players once again.
Eric Wilson is a strong run defender, but he’s a big liability in coverage. He’s a nice fit for Brian Flores’ defense, but giving him this sort of money certainly constitutes as an overpay. It’s not an egregious one, and it won’t hurt like the quarterback decision, but it’s still a poor contract.
