2026 NFL Signings Graded by Team: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

This page lists all the 2026 NFL Signings for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. I’ve listed all of the NFL Free Agent Signing Grades here, which included the Signings. Because I’ve begun posting polls for the Signings, I thought it would make sense to list just the NFL Signings here, so archiving the voting would be easier.

March 2026 – Signings

Buccaneers sign DE Al-Quadin Muhammad (1 year): A Grade
signed on 3/12/2026

Al-Quadin Muhammad was incredibly productive last year despite playing about 40-50 percent of the team’s defensive snaps. Despite not seeing ample playing time, he logged 11.5 sacks and 53 pressures. The Buccaneers needed an upgraded pass rush, and Muhammad will certainly help.

The one downside to this signing is that Muhammad is 31, so he may not play as well as he did last year. However, the risk is mitigated by this contract being for only one year, so the Buccaneers should be graded highly for this move.

Buccaneers sign DT A'Shawn Robinson (1 year, $10 million): B Grade
signed on 3/11/2026

I’m all for 1-year “prove it” contracts, but there has to be a limit. After all, there’s only so much A’Shawn Robinson can prove. I don’t see a reality in which he ever meets this $10 million value.

Robinson was able to get a fair amount of pressure on the quarterback last year. He tallied 31 pressures and three sacks, so it’s not like he was a bad player. However, Robinson turns 31 next week, so it’s possible that the Buccaneers won’t see the version of Robinson the Panthers had last year.

Buccaneers sign QB Jake Browning (1 year): C Grade
signed on 3/11/2026

Jake Browning’s stock fell off a cliff this past year. He was once seen as a potential starting quarterback after some solid backup stints with the Bengals, but he was horrendous in relief of Joe Burrow this past season. Browning cannot be a No. 2 quarterback in the NFL, but that is his role at the moment because Baker Mayfield is the only viable signal-caller on Tampa Bay’s roster right now.

Buccaneers re-sign TE Cade Otton (3 years, $30 million): C- Grade
signed on 3/9/2026

Cade Otton was re-signed earlier in the day, but I was awaiting the contract details. We have them now, and as I suspected, Otton was overpaid.

Otton is a talented tight end, but he’s a very inconsistent producer. He’s certainly not elite, so if you’ve been reading my grades, you know where I’m going with this. Teams always regret paying too much for non-elite tight ends, and that would apply in this instance. The Buccaneers would’ve been better off taking this $30 million and applying it to the fund to keep Mike Evans around for a couple more years.

Buccaneers sign LB Alex Anzalone (2 years, $17 million): A+ Grade
signed on 3/9/2026

The Buccaneers have made two great signings in the past hour. They obtained a quality receiving threat for Baker Mayfield in Kenneth Gainwell, and now they addressed their defense’s biggest need by signing a talented player.

Alex Anzalone has been a great linebacker for the Lions. He’s 31, so he could regress soon, but he should have one or two strong seasons remaining. He’ll likely replace Lavonte David, whose play fell off a cliff last year. Anzalone will probably be a big upgrade, and yet the Buccaneers signed him to a very reasonable deal.

Buccaneers sign RB Kenneth Gainwell (2 years, $14 million): A Grade
signed on 3/9/2026

We can assume Rachaad White is gone in the wake of this signing. With White projected to leave, the Buccaneers replaced him with Kenneth Gainwell, who will serve the same role as a pass-catching back.

This is a great signing. Gainwell was so effective as a receiver last year that he effectively served as Pittsburgh’s No. 2 wideout late in the season. He’ll be a very reliable weapon for Baker Mayfield at a very reasonable price.
