2026 NFL Signings Graded by Team: Houston Texans

This page lists all the 2026 NFL Signings for the Houston Texans. I’ve listed all of the NFL Free Agent Signing Grades here, which included the Signings. Because I’ve begun posting polls for the Signings, I thought it would make sense to list just the NFL Signings here, so archiving the voting would be easier.

March 2026 – Signings

Texans sign G Wyatt Teller (2 years, $16 million): B+ Grade
signed on 3/17/2026

The Texans were jettisoning offensive linemen like the world was coming to an end earlier this offseason, but they’ve since added new blockers. They acquired two new offensive linemen before this signing – Braden Smith, Evan Brown – and now Wyatt Teller becomes the third blocker added to the front in the past few weeks.

This would have been an amazing signing a couple of years ago. Teller was once considered one of the better guards in the NFL. That’s no longer the case after a couple of down seasons, but Teller can still block well and can serve as a fine stopgap for Houston’s next guard. This is also a cheap enough signing that it won’t hurt Houston very much if Teller proves to be a total bust.

Texans sign G/C Evan Brown (1 year, $3.5 million): B+ Grade
signed on 3/14/2026

The Texans have severe offensive line issues, so they need as much help as possible with their blocking unit. Evan Brown isn’t an amazing blocker by any means, but he’s a half-decent pass protector who can play both guard and center relatively effectively. He’s a solid, cheap signing who will add some needed versatility.

Texans sign DL Logan Hall (2 years, $13.7 million): B+ Grade
signed on 3/12/2026

Houston already had one of the best defensive lines in the NFL. The team added even more talent with Logan Hall, a former second-round pick. This signing was made yesterday, but we just received contract details.

Logan Hall saw his sack total drop from 5.5 in 2024 to 1.5 in 2025. However, that number is misleading because Hall’s quarterback pressure numbers actually rose this past season, so he was unlucky with his sack number. He’ll be able to get to the quarterback in Houston with so much attention being placed on the Texans’ other incredibly talented defensive linemen.

Texans sign OT Braden Smith (2 years, $25 million): B+ Grade
signed on 3/10/2026

The Texans were disposing of so many offensive linemen earlier in the offseason that looked like they were sabotaging their chances of winning next year. Of course, we had to wait to see the whole picture, and now we know that the plan was to upgrade Tytus Howard with someone like Braden Smith.

Smith is a superb offensive lineman, but he comes with some glaring concerns. He has a history of injury and psychological problems, which could cause his 2026 campaign to derail. This is a high-risk, high-reward signing, but I like that Houston is taking this chance.

Texans sign S Reed Blankenship (3 years, $24.8 million): A Grade
signed on 3/9/2026

Houston’s elite defense didn’t have many needs, but one of the safety spots was one of them. That’s no longer the case in the wake of the Reed Blankenship signing.

Blankenship was incredible for the Eagles in 2023 and 2024. He’s coming off a down year, but at 27, he could easily rebound in Houston’s superb defense. He was also signed for a reasonable price.

Texans re-sign G Ed Ingram (3 years, $37.5 million): B+ Grade
signed on 3/9/2026

I imagine Minnesota fans believe this is the worst contract of all time. Ed Ingram was a second-round pick of the Vikings in 2022, but never lived up to his potential. He started with the Vikings, but was eventually benched. Ingram went to Houston last offseason, and he finally emerged with his best year yet.

Ingram was so good last year that he was Houston’s best offensive lineman, somehow. It was important to retain him, especially with continuity being vital for offensive linemen. I would be worried about some regression, so there’s definitely a downside to this signing.
