Edgerrin Cooper, LB, Texas A&M
Some teams had character concerns regarding Edgerrin Cooper, so it was important to show well at the combine. He did so with some impressive testing numbers. He ran a 4.51 40-yard time with a 1.54 10-yard split. He also leapt 34.5 inches in the vertical.
Jordan Magee, LB, Temple
Jordan Magee posted similar running numbers compared to Edgerrin Cooper, registering a 4.55 40 and a 1.54 10-yard split. However, he was even better in the jumping measurables, posting a 35.5-inch vertical and a 10-4 broad jump.
Edefuan Ulofoshio, LB, Washington
Edefuan Ulofoshio posted the best jumping numbers of any player on the first day of the combine. He was able to leap 39.5 inches in the vertical and 10-8 in the broad jump. His 40 time wasn’t bad either, as he ran a 4.56 at 236 pounds.
Trevin Wallace, LB, Kentucky
Trevin Wallace came close to Edefuan Ulofoshio in the jumping metrics. He was two inches shy in the vertical (37.5) and one inch short in the broad jump (10-7). His 40 time was also excellent, as he was able to dash a 4.51.
Payton Wilson, LB, N.C. State
The best was saved for last on the first day of the combine. That was Payton Wilson, who recorded the best 40 time among all front-seven players on Thursday. Wilson blazed a 4.43 40, which included a 1.54 10-yard split. While his jumping numbers weren’t as great (34.5 vertical, 9-11 broad), Wilson certainly had the entire building buzzing with his incredible speed.
