This is the 2023 NFL Combine Stock Report for the running backs. Follow me @walterfootball for updates.
Devon Achane, RB, Texas A&M
Devon Achane capped off his excellent combine with a backflip. That excellent combine looked like this: He ran a 4.32, posted a 33-inch vertical and looked much stronger than his 5-9, 188-pound frame would indicate.
Chase Brown, RB, Illinois
Several Illinois players had a great showing at the combine, and Chase Brown was certainly part of that group. Brown ran a 4.43 at 5-10, 209 pounds. He also notched a 40-inch vertical and a 10-7 broad jump.
Tiyon Evans, RB, Louisville
Tiyon Evans didn’t post a great 40 in a vacuum, but his 4.52 is pretty solid considering his 225-pound frame. Evans also showed well in the on-field drills, thriving as a receiver in the workouts.
Jahmyr Gibbs, RB, Alabama
Jahmyr Gibbs did well enough at the combine to help ensure that there will be two running backs chosen in the first round. Gibbs blazed a 4.36 40 with a 1.52 10-yard split.
Keaton Mitchell, RB, East Carolina
Keaton Mitchell’s 40 time of 4.37 wasn’t a surprise, given that he’s only 179 pounds. The same can be said of his vertical (38 inches) and broad jump (10-6). However, he was outstanding in the drills as a receiver, so he should be given a stock-up arrow.
Deneric Prince, RB, Tulsa
Deneric Price is another running back who looked good in the drills. He also ran a 4.41 40 despite havin a 6-0, 216-pound frame. He also recorded a 35.5-inch vertical and a 10-4 broad jump.
