2023 NFL Combine Stock Report:
QB | RB | WR | TE | OL | DL | LB | DB

This is the 2023 NFL Combine Stock Report for the linebackers. Follow me @walterfootball for updates.

Yasir Abdullah, DE/OLB, Louisville
Yasir Abdullah was the opening act for Will Anderson, but he put on quite the show in Indianapolis. He ran a 4.47 40 with a 1.56 10-yard split. He also posted a 10-9 broad jump. Abdullah was highly productive at Louisville (9.5 sacks in 2022), so this athletic performance should send him skyrocketing up draft boards.

Habukkuk Baldonado, DE, Pittsburgh
Habukkuk Baldonado didn’t have a great 40 (4.78), but he registered some great jumping numbers, leaping 35 inches in the vertical and 10 feet in the broad jump. He also posted the third-best 3-cone time for all Thursday participants at 7.11 seconds.

Jack Campbell, LB, Iowa
Jack Campbell had an outstanding combine, running a 4.65 40 despite measuring in at 6-5, 249. He also registered a 37.5-inch vertical and a 10-8 broad jump.

Isaiah Foskey, DE, Notre Dame
Isaiah Foskey posted quality numbers for a 264-pound defensive lineman. He ran a 4.58 40 with a 1.66 10-yard split. His vertical (34), broad jump (10-5) and 3-cone time (7.28) were all excellent. Foskey also looked very good in the drills, particularly when asked to simulate coverage.

D.J. Johnson, DE, Oregon
D.J. Johnson showed off his freakish athletic ability at the combine. He ran a 4.49 40 with a 1.59 10-yard split despite weighing in at 6-4, 260. Unfortunately, we didn’t get jumping numbers or a 3-cone time for Johnson.

Will McDonald, DE/OLB, Iowa State
Will McDonald measured in a little light at 239 pounds. He also didn’t run the 40, but he displayed his terrific athleticism during the drills. He was one of the top performers in those.

Anfernee Orji, LB, Vanderbilt
Anfernee Orji had a very strong showing in the drills to complement some positive workout numbers. His 40 was a solid 4.53, but he stood out in the vertical (38.5 inches) and broad jump (10-2).

Owen Pappoe, LB, Auburn
Owen Pappoe measured in a little light at 6-0, 225, but he more than made up for it with his athletic ability. He tied for the fastest 40 time among all the Thursday participants with a 4.39. This included a 1.52 10-yard split. He notched a 35.5-inch vertical as well.

Jose Ramirez, DE/OLB, Eastern Michigan
Jose Ramirez’s 40 time was just mediocre (4.73), but he really stood out in the agility drills. He posted the fastest 3-cone (6.95) and shuttle times of all the prospects who were active on Thursday.

Drew Sanders, LB, Arkansas
I thought Drew Sanders would have a chance to show off at the combine, but believed he would do so with his testing numbers. Sanders didn’t jump or run the 40, yet he was still great in Indianapolis because he was one of the top performers in the drills.

Trenton Simpson, LB, Clemson
Trenton Simpson was one of the top runners among all Thursday participants at the combine. He dashed a 40 in 4.43 seconds with a 1.55 10-yard split. Unfortunately, he didn’t do any of the jumps.

Nolan Smith, DE, Georgia
It’s not common for an edge rusher to be disappointed with a 4.39 40-yard dash, yet that was Nolan Smith’s demeanor after he ran in Indianapolis. Smith didn’t even run a second time. Despite this reaction, Smith deserves an up arrow for showing off his elite athletic ability. Evaluators will love his 1.52 10-yard split as well.

Lukas Van Ness, DE, Iowa
Lukas Van Ness showed off way more athleticism than I thought he had at the combine. He ran a 4.58 40 despite measuring in at 6-5, 272. He also posted the second-best 3-cone time (7.02) and looked great during the drills.
