This is the 2024 NFL Combine Stock Report for the defensive linemen. Follow me @walterfootball for updates.

Myles Cole, DE/DT, Texas Tech
Myles Cole measured in with a nice frame for an expected 3-4 defensive end in the NFL (6-6, 278), and his metrics definitely did not disappoint. Cole ran a 4.67 40-yard dash with a 1.65 10-yard split. Only two defensive tackles had a better 10-yard split than Cole. Furthermore, Cole also posted a 10-0 broad jump and a 35-inch vertical. Cole also looked sharp in the drills.

Braden Fiske, DT, Florida State
Braden Fiske was one of the top performers at defensive tackle during the opening session at the combine. Despite weighing in at 292 pounds, Fiske breezed a 4.78 40-yard dash with a terrific 10-yard split of 1.68. Fiske also posted great jumping numbers with a 33.5-inch vertical and a 9-9 broad jump.

Byron Murphy, DT, Texas
Byron Murphy’s stock has risen in recent weeks, and it continued to have an upward trajectory in the wake of this performance. At nearly 300 pounds, Murphy ran a 4.87 40-yard time with a 1.70 10-yard split. Murphy also thrived in the drills, which was not a surprise at all.

Myles Murphy, DT, North Carolina
Myles Murphy was one of the worst-testing defensive tackles at the 2024 NFL Combine. He ran a 5.20 40 with a 1.82 10-yard split. While there were worse numbers, those were often owned by defensive tackles who are 320 pounds or heavier. Murphy is “just” 309, so it was disappointing to see such poor runs. He also had just an 8-10 broad jump and a 28.5-inch vertical.

Ruke Orhorhoro, DT, Clemson
Ruke Orhorhoro was another five-technique prospect who tested extremely well at the combine. At 294 pounds, Orhorhoro was able to exceed a 4.9 time with a 4.89. He also had a 1.69 10-yard split. Orhorhoro had the second-highest athletic score among the players at his position, finishing only behind Braden Fiske.

Leonard Taylor, DT, Miami
Leonard Taylor didn’t test well at the combine with a 5.12 40-yard time. However, the most significant thing is something that Charlie Campbell reported, which is that Leonard Taylor has character issues and some teams could remove him from their draft boards.
