Previous Seasons

  • '20 - Adam Trautman, Dayton
1. Texas A&M image Jalen Wydermyer, TE, Texas A&M
Height: 6-5. Weight: 260.
Projected 40 Time: 4.7.
Projected Round (2023): 1-3.
View Ranking History

7/24/21: Wydermyer created a buzz with scouts in 2019 from displaying a good skill with a ton of upside. The Aggies staff raved about Wydermyer to NFL evaluators coming through College Station. That season, he totaled 32 receptions for 447 yards and six touchdowns. As sophomore in 2020, Wydermyer recorded 45 catches for 502 yards and six touchdowns. Wydermyer has good size to him with speed and athleticism. He could have three-down starting potential for the NFL.

Previous Seasons

  • '20 - Cole Kmet, Notre Dame
2. Notre Dame image Michael Mayer**, TE, Notre Dame
Height: 6-5. Weight: 249.
Projected 40 Time: 4.69.
Projected Round (2023): 1-2.
View Ranking History

7/24/21: Notre Dame has produced a steady stream of tight ends for the NFL under head coach Brian Kelly, and Mayer should continue that tradition in 2023 or beyond. Mayer was phenomenal as a freshman in 2020, snatching 42 passes for 450 yards and two touchdowns. He has a lot of upside and showed the potential to be a three-down starter. Mayer could rise as takes on a bigger role and gets more targets in the seasons to come.

Previous Seasons

  • '20 - Thaddeus Moss, LSU
3. Ohio State image Jeremy Ruckert, TE, Ohio State
Height: 6-5. Weight: 250.
Projected 40 Time: 4.75.
Projected Round (2023): 2-3.
View Ranking History

7/24/21: Ruckert showed some nice red-zone ability against Penn State and Rutgers in 2020, but Ohio State featured its wide receivers in the passing game rather than the tight ends. Still, Ruckert was graded high by the advance scouts for the 2022 NFL Draft, and they really like his skill set with size, speed, and athleticism.

Ruckert flashed some ability during his sophomore year and was a nice red-zone contributor for the Buckeyes. He also has quality size to be a blocker, so the ability is there for Ruckert to become a prospect with three-down starter potential.

Previous Seasons

  • '20 - Albert Okwuegbunam, Missouri
4. Miami image Will Mallory, TE, Miami
Height: 6-5. Weight: 245.
Projected 40 Time: 4.68.
Projected Round (2023): 2-3.
View Ranking History

7/24/21: Mallory really flashed for Miami in 2020 despite being the No. 2 tight end behind Brevin Jordan. Mallory has quality size to him, and it showed in how he contributed as a blocker and receiver. He has a lot of upside to produce more in 2021.

Previous Seasons

  • '20 - Jared Pinkney, Vanderbilt
5. Washington image Cade Otton, TE, Washington
Height: 6-5. Weight: 238.
Projected 40 Time: 4.75.
Projected Round (2023): 2-3.
View Ranking History

7/24/21: Otton played well in limited action for Washington in 2020. He has three-down starting potential for the NFL because he is a solid receiver and a willing contributor as a blocker. Otton worked his way onto the field as a freshman, and he has the potential to be one of the better tight ends in college football in 2021.
