1. Georgia image Jalen Carter*, DT, Georgia
Height: 6-3. Weight: 310.
Projected 40 Time: 5.20.
Projected Round (2023): Top-16.
View Ranking History

9/24/22: Carter had two tackles against South Carolina, but he barely played because of a banged-up ankle. Georgia has annihilated all of its opponents so far this season. In 2022, he has four tackles and a pass batted.

7/5/22: Despite Georgia's crowded defensive line filled with future early-round picks in 2021, Carter flashed as a sophomore with 37 tackles and three sacks. The 6-foot-3, 310-pounder showed the ability to get after the quarterback and has real upside as an interior pass rusher. He also has natural strength to get off blocks and pursue to the ball in the ground game. According to team sources, Carter had the second-highest grade on NFL teams' preseason watch list, behind only Alabama edge defender Will Anderson. Carter could be in store for a monster 2022 season and looks like a future high first-rounder.

Previous Seasons

  • '22 - Devonte Wyatt, Georgia
  • '21 - Levi Onwuzurike, Washington
  • '20 - Javon Kinlaw, South Carolina
2. Clemson image Bryan Bresee*, DT, Clemson
Height: 6-5. Weight: 300.
Projected 40 Time: 5.10.
Projected Round (2023): 1-2
View Ranking History

9/24/22: A death in the family caused Bresee not to play in Week 3. He notched .5 sacks in Clemson's season-opening win over Georgia Tech and made two tackles against Furman. In 2022, Bresee has six tackles and .5 sacks.

7/5/22: Bresee (6-5, 300) was impressive in 2020, recording 33 tackles, four sacks, 6.5 tackles for a loss, a forced fumble and two passes defended. He totaled 13 tackles, 1.5 sacks and an interception in 2021 before tearing his ACL versus N.C. State. Bresee has good size to go along with some quickness and athleticism. He should only get better as he gains experience and develops physically. Bresee has the upside to be a riser.

Previous Seasons

  • '22 - Travis Jones, Connecticut
  • '21 - Dayo Odeyingbo, Vanderbilt
  • '20 - Justin Madubuike, Texas A&M
3. Florida image Gervon Dexter*, DT, Florida

View Ranking History

9/24/22: Dexter had a solid game against Utah with five tackles. He then played really well versus Kentucky, collecting seven tackles, .5 sacks, and a diving interception.

7/5/22: Even though the Florida defense struggled in 2021, Dexter flashed and played well for the Gators. He totaled 50 tackles, 2.5 sacks and one pass defended on the year. Dexter has good size, length, quickness and strength. He could be poised for big things as an upperclassman.

Previous Seasons

  • '22 - DeMarvin Leal, Texas A&M
  • '21 - Daviyon Nixon, Iowa
  • '20 - Ross Blacklock, TCU
4. Baylor image Siaki Ika*, DT, Baylor

View Ranking History

9/24/22: Ika has four tackles thus far this year.

7/5/22: Ika is a massive interior defender who has surprising quickness and athleticism to go along with his mass and strength. For a big tackle, Ika showed some ability to pressure the quarterback in 2021, racking up four sacks. He also had 24 tackles. If Ika's production rises as an upperclassman, he could be a riser for the 2023 NFL Draft.

Previous Seasons

  • '22 - Zachary Carter, Florida
  • '21 - Tyler Shelvin, LSU
  • '20 - Marlon Davidson, Auburn
5. South Carolina image Zacch Pickens*, DT, South Carolina

Projected 40 Time: 5.00.
Projected Round (2023): 2-3
View Ranking History

9/24/22: Pickens has 18 tackles so far this year. He has been a solid run defender, but he has not been a factor in the pass rush.

7/5/22: Pickens was decent in 2020 with 35 tackles, but he was a breakout performer as a junior in 2021, racking up four sacks, 38 tackles and a pass defended for the Gamecocks. Pickens has good size to go along with quickness and athleticism. He could be riser if he continues to show interior pass-rush ability.

Previous Seasons

  • '20 - Jordan Elliott, Missouri
6. Michigan image Mazi Smith, DT/NT, Michigan

Projected Round (2023): 2-3
View Ranking History

9/24/22: On the year, Smith has eight tackles and .5 sacks.

7/5/22: While Aidan Hutchinson and David Ojabo got all the attention for the Michigan defense in 2021, Smith was a good defender in his own right. He helped plug up interior rushing lanes and was tough to move at the point of attack. In 2021, Smith had 37 tackles, 2.5 tackles for a loss and four passes batted.

Previous Seasons

  • '22 - Phidarian Mathis, Alabama
  • '21 - Marvin Wilson, Florida State

Projected 40 Time: 5.10.

View Ranking History

9/24/22: Benton has five tackles thus far this season.

7/5/22: Benton did not do much in 2019 and 2020, totaling 20 tackles over those seasons, but he played well in 2021, recording 2.5 sacks, 24 tackles and a pass batted. Benton has a quality skill set and upsidem so he could rise as a senior after his year of starting experience.

  • '20 - Raekwon Davis, Alabama
8. Clemson image Tyler Davis*, DT/TE, Clemson

7/5/22: Over the past three seasons, Davis flashed some ability for the Tigers. In 2019, he had an excellent debut with 44 tackles, 5.5 sacks and two passes batted. He has not played to that level since then. After recording two sacks and 13 tackles in 2020, he recorded 23 tackles and 2.5 sacks in 2021. Davis could rebound as a senior with Bryan Bresee commanding attention.

Previous Seasons

  • '22 - Haskell Garrett, Ohio State
  • '21 - Jerome Johnson, Indiana
  • '20 - Larrell Murchison, N.C. State
9. Clemson image Ruke Orhorhoro*, DT, Clemson

View Ranking History

9/24/22: Orhorhoro has seven tackles and a sack at this point this year.

7/5/22: Orhorhoro took advantage of the opportunity of Bryan Bresee going out with injury to have a solid 2021 season. Orhorhoro totaled 36 tackles and 2.5 sacks on the year. While Orhorhoro might be a rotational backup, NFL teams like his potential and have him with a favorable projection entering his junior season.

Previous Seasons

  • '21 - Osa Odighizuwa, UCLA
  • '20 - DaVon Hamilton, Ohio State

  • '20 - James Lynch, Baylor
11. Oregon image Brandon Dorlus*, DT, Oregon

Projected Round (2023): 3-4
View Ranking History

9/24/22: Dorlus really struggled against Georgia, but he played well versus BYU.

7/5/22: In 2021, Dorlus made his presence felt for the Ducks, recording 25 tackles and 2.5 sacks. Over the previous two seasons, he notched a total of 17 tackles and two sacks, but the 2020 season was very short for the Pac-12, which did not play a schedule like the SEC or ACC. Dorlus has some quickness and gap-shooting ability to potentially rise as a junior.

Previous Seasons

  • '22 - Otito Ogbonnia, UCLA
  • '21 - Bobby Brown, Texas A&M
  • '20 - Benito Jones, Ole Miss
12. Arizona State image Nesta Jade Silvera, DT, Arizona State

Projected Round (2023): 3-5
View Ranking History

9/24/22: This year, Silvera has nine tackles and a forced fumble.

7/5/22: Silvera has been a quality interior defensive lineman for the Miami Hurricanes over the past couple of seasons. In 2021. he notched 38 tackles after recording 35 stops the previous season. As a senior, it would help Silvera to improve his pass-rush production. He had one sack in 2020 and one in 2019, but zero in 2021. After 2021, Silvera transferred to Arizona State for his senior year.

Previous Seasons

  • '22 - Neil Farrell Jr., LSU

13. West Virginia image Dante Stills, DT/3-4DE, West Virginia
Height: 6-4. Weight: 280.
Projected 40 Time: 5.00.
Projected Round (2023): 3-5
View Ranking History

9/24/22: Stills has eight tackles, 2.5 sacks and a forced fumble this season.

7/5/22: Stills could be a riser because he has shown some pass-rush ability in multiple seasons for the Mountaineers. In 2021, he had seven sacks to go along with 36 tackles, one forced fumble and one interception. He notched two sacks and 35 tackles in 2020, but in 2019, he had seven sacks alongside 23 tackles. Stills may have been graded higher by the NFL advance scouts if his body type wasn't that of a tackle/end tweener. For the pros, Stills could lose weight to be play end or add weight to be a full-time tackle.

Previous Seasons

  • '22 - LaBryan Ray, Alabama
  • '21 - Naquan Jones, Michigan State
  • '20 - Rashard Lawrence, LSU

  • '20 - Robert Windsor, Penn State
15. Arizona State image Jermayne Lole, DT, Arizona State

Lole was even better as a sophomore, totaling 71 tackles, 6.5 sacks and two passes batted. In 2020, he notched 24 tackles and 1.5 sacks. Roughly a month before the 2021 season, Lole went out for the year with a triceps injury that led to season-ending surgery. If Lole plays like he did in 2019, he should be a riser.

Previous Seasons

  • '21 - Khyiris Tonga, BYU
  • '20 - Josiah Coatney, Ole Miss
16. Texas image Moro Ojomo, DT, Texas

7/5/22: Redmond has flashed some interior rush ability for the Sooners over the past few seasons. He had 3.5 sacks in 2021 after recording 6.5 sacks in 2019. However, Redmond is very undersized for the NFL and will have problems as a run defender. He might fit in that NFL as a designated pass rusher for sub or dime defense.

7/5/22: Coburn is a heavy run-stuffing nose tackle. In 2021, he recorded 15 tackles and a sack after recording 24 and 25 tackles during the previous two seasons, respectively. Coburn should lose weight for the NFL.
