  1. Russell Okung, Oklahoma State Scouting Report
    Height: 6-5. Weight: 310.
    Projected 40 Time: 5.22.
    Combine 40 Time: 5.17.
    Pro Day 40 Time: DNP.
    Benchx225: 38. Arm: 36.
Projected Round (2010): Top 5 Pick.

3/11/10: Russell Okung didn’t run at his Pro Day, but he weighed in at a solid 310 pounds (he was 307 at the Combine).

2/27/10: Despite having 36-inch arms, Russell Okung posted 38 reps of 225 pounds at the Combine. Barring a poor Saturday, Okung will walk away from the Combine as a perceived blue-chip prospect. As I’ve been saying for months, the Lions would be wise to draft him No. 2 overall. But regardless of what happens there, Okung is not making it past the Chiefs at No. 5.

2/26/10: Russell Okung solidified his top-five status by weighing in at 6-5, 307, with 36-inch arms. It’ll be very difficult for the Chiefs to pass on a stud left tackle like Okung at No. 5 – assuming he makes it there.

1/18/10: A First-Team All-American, Russell Okung will likely be taken No. 4 (Redskins) or No. 5 (Chiefs) in April. He has an outside chance of going to the Buccaneers, depending on what happens with Donald Penn.

10/24/09: Having a very good year, but could receive some competition from Bruce Campbell to be the first left tackle off the board. It’ll be hard for the Chiefs and Lions to pass up on him.

1/6/09: Russell Okung, Oklahoma State’s starting right tackle, qualified for the All-Big XII First Team. I couldn’t blame him if he declared early, but he could be a first-round prospect if he wats another year. There’s even a chance he gets drafted toward the end of the opening round this April.

7/27/08: Played extremely well for the Cowboys as a sophomore. Russell Okung should be able to play multiple positions at the next level, as he also works out at guard.

  2. Bryan Bulaga, Iowa Scouting Report
    Height: 6-5. Weight: 316.
    Projected 40 Time: 5.02.
    Combine 40 Time: 5.26.
    Pro Day 40 Time: DNP.
    Benchx225: 26. Arm: 33 1/4.
Projected Round (2010): Top 6 Pick.

2/26/10: Bryan Bulaga’s arms measured at just 33 1/4 inches. This shouldn’t be a huge deal, but it could be enough to scare some teams off and keep him out of the top 10.

1/7/10: Bryan Bulaga declared for the 2010 NFL Draft. This was a good move; Bulaga saw teammate Dace Richardson’s career ruined because of a nasty knee injury. Bulaga is a projected first-round pick, so he was wise to leave school early.

10/24/09: Missed three games with an illness, but is still in the mix to be the second or third tackle to be taken off the board.

2/9/09: A very athletic left tackle from a program known for producing stud offensive linemen, Bryan Bulaga was an All-Big Ten second-teamer as a sophomore. Bulaga started as a true freshman.

  3. Trent Williams, Oklahoma Scouting Report
    Height: 6-5. Weight: 314.
    Projected 40 Time: 5.27.
    Combine 40 Time: 4.88.
    Benchx225: 23. Arm: 34 1/4.
Projected Round (2010): Top 6 Pick.

2/28/10: Where did this come from? Trent Williams somehow ran a 4.88 at the Combine and displayed a lot more athleticism than anticipated.

1/18/10: An AP All-America first-teamer, but no left tackle potential. He’ll be looked at in the bottom half of the first round.

10/24/09: Has struggled at times this year. Only a right tackle?

1/6/09: Trent Williams is having an amazing junior year, and could have challenged Duke Robinson and Phil Loadholt as the first Sooner lineman off the board if he declared early.

  4. Bruce Campbell, Maryland Scouting Report
    Height: 6-6. Weight: 314.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.94.
    Combine 40 Time: 4.85.
    Benchx225: 34. Arm: 36 1/4.
Projected Round (2010): No. 8 Pick.

2/28/10: Bruce Campbell is officially a “great player.” Campbell ran a 4.85 at the Combine, which unquestionably got Al Davis’ attention. It’ll be a huge upset if Campbell isn’t drafted No. 8 overall.

2/27/10: Bruce Campbell benched 225 pounds a whopping 34 times – an impressive feat considering how long his arms are (36 1/4). If Campbell runs a fast 40 on Saturday, Raider fans should just begin ordering Campbell jerseys.

2/26/10: Bruce Campbell was an impressive 6-6, 314 at the Combine with long 36 1/4-inch arms. The Combine is Campbell’s time to shine, and assuming he runs a great 40 on Saturday (as expected), he’ll become a great player and a lock to go to Al Davis at No. 8 overall.

1/3/09: Bruce Campbell has declared for the 2010 NFL Draft. This was a no-brainer; Campbell has an outside shot at the top five if GMs are convinced that his past injuries are a non-factor.

10/24/09: Bruce Campbell is a dominant left tackle who could be the first player at his position off the board. Unfortunately, Campbell has a history of minor injuries that will likely allow Russell Okung to have that honor.

  5. Anthony Davis, Rutgers Scouting Report
    Height: 6-5. Weight: 323.
    Projected 40 Time: 5.24.
    Combine 40 Time: 5.35.
    Benchx225: 21. Arm: 34.
Projected Round (2010): Top 25 Pick.

2/28/10: Anthony Davis’ 21 bench press reps weren’t a big deal because he was considered more of an athletic tackle. However, Davis didn’t exactly look too athletic on Saturday, running a 5.35 and looking stiff in the drills. Bryan Bulaga could be ahead of him.

1/3/10: Anthony Davis has declared for the 2010 NFL Draft. Davis is a massive blocker with some athleticism. He’s an intriguing prospect and has an outside shot at the top 10.

10/24/09: Run-blocking is easily his strength, but has some athleticism to play left tackle.

2/9/09: Flawlessly made the transition from guard to left tackle, starting 11 games as a sophomore. Anthony Davis made the All-Big East Second Team.

7/27/08: A big man who qualified for the Freshmen All-American first team and All-Big East third team. Anthony Davis started the final eight games of his freshman campaign.

  6. Charles Brown, USC Scouting Report
    Height: 6-5. Weight: 303.
    Projected 40 Time: 5.06.
    Pro Day 40 Time: 5.25.
    Benchx225: 21. Arm: 35 1/4.
Projected Round (2010): Top 31 Pick.

3/31/10: Pulled a hamstring during his Pro Day 40.

2/26/10: Charles Brown’s weight was a big concern going into the Combine. Brown was around 290 during the 2009 season, and sub-300-pound tackles just don’t go in the first round. Fortunately, Brown weighed in at 303 pounds, while his arms measured 35 1/4 inches. Brown is now a sure first-rounder and a possible candidate at No. 14 for Seattle.

1/18/10: An All-Pac 10 first-teamer, Charles Brown will be targeted by zone-blocking teams toward the end of the first round. As Matt pointed out, his weigh-in at the Combine and Senior Bowl is huge.

10/24/09: Has emerged as a top-20 left tackle with a brilliant senior season. A former tight end with a lot of athleticism, Charles Brown is going to have a great Combine.

2/9/09: Thankfully, Charlie Brown doesn’t have to kick field goals with some chick holding for him. An All-Pac 10 honorable mention, Brown is an athletic left tackle who has a good chance of being drafted on Day 1.

7/27/08: Charles Brown has yet to start a game in his collegiate career, but he’ll have the opportunity to do so with Sam Baker in Atlanta. Brown projects as a zone-blocking lineman at the next level.

  7. Rodger Saffold, Indiana
    Height: 6-5. Weight: 313.
    Projected 40 Time: 5.13.
    Combine 40 Time: 5.22.
    Benchx225: 27. Arm: 33 5/8.
    Projected Round (2010): 1-2.

3/12/10: Didn’t run at his Pro Day, but worked out with Cincinnati’s coaching staff.

2/28/10: Rodger Saffold displayed his athleticism at the Combine, running a 5.22 in the 40 and looking fluid in the drills. He definitely has left tackle potential in the NFL.

1/18/10: Finished his Indiana career with 41 starts. Was an All-Big Ten second-teamer. Started at left tackle for 3-and-a-half years.

  8. Vladimir Ducasse, UMass
    Height: 6-4. Weight: 332.
    Projected 40 Time: 5.40.
    Combine 40 Time: 5.21.
    Benchx225: 29. Arm: 34 3/4.
    Projected Round (2010): 2-3.

1/17/10: Has played guard and right tackle at UMass, and had 24 career starts going into his senior year. Was voted as a Division 1-AA First-Team All-American. Received a Combine invite.

  9. Jared Veldheer, Hillsdale
    Height: 6-8. Weight: 312.
    Projected 40 Time: 5.25.
    Combine 40 Time: 5.09.
    Benchx225: 32. Arm: 33.
    Projected Round (2010): 2-3.

2/28/10: As expected, Jared Veldheer showcased his athleticism to scouts at the Combine. Veldheer ran a 5.09 in the 40, and it seems like his only flaw is his arm length (33 inches). In a top-heavy, but thin tackle class, Veldheer could go in the second round.

2/26/10: Jared Veldheer is an athletic tackle who should perform well on Saturday. Unfortunately, Thursday wasn’t so kind to him. Jared Veldheer weighed in at 6-8, 312, but with 33-inch arms. That arm length is ridiculously short for a man of Veldheer’s size.

1/18/10: Jared Veldheer is a giant tackle with athleticism, who started all 46 games of his collegiate career. A Division II AP All-America first-teamer, Veldheer will attend the Combine, so the nation will get their first ever look at him in February.

  10. Tony Washington, Abilene Christian
    Height: 6-6. Weight: 311.
    Projected 40 Time: 5.10.
    Combine 40 Time: 5.19.
    Benchx225: 33. Arm: 35 1/2.
    Projected Round (2010): 3-4.

3/10/10: Tony Washington has first-round talent, but he reportedly had consensual sex with his biological 15-year-old sister when he was 16. As Borat would say, “Let’s make sexy time!” Washington’s act was definitely sick, but remember that this occurred seven years ago. Washington was just a child back then. He’s now 23 and hasn’t gotten into trouble in a long time.

2/26/10: Tony Washington impressively weighed in at 6-6, 311, with 35.5-inch arms. Washington is an offensive tackle to keep your eye on during the Combine.

  11. Ed Wang, Virginia Tech
    Height: 6-5. Weight: 314.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.93.
    Combine 40 Time: 5.14.
    Benchx225: 29. Arm: 33 3/4.
    Projected Round (2010): 3-4.

1/18/10: An athletic left tackle, Ed Wang was an All-ACC second-teamer.

10/24/09: Havings tons of issues with penalties this year (mostly holds).

2/9/09: Made it back from a broken ankle suffered in the summer.

7/27/08: Though Ed Wang plays right tackle at Virginia Tech, he’s a former tight end with a quick 40, so you know he’s athletic enough to play left tackle at the next level in any sort of system.

  12. Jason Fox, Miami
    Height: 6-7. Weight: 305.
    Projected 40 Time: 5.10.
    Pro Day 40 Time: 5.45.
    Benchx225: 25. Arm: 34 1/2.
    Projected Round (2010): 3-4.

3/28/10: Pulled his hamstring during the Pro Day 40, which impacted his time.

1/18/10: There’s a lot of concern here. First, Jason Fox just had knee surgery. Second, he missed the final game of the regular season with an irregular heartbeat. Teams may shy away from this suddenly risky prospect.

10/24/09: Anchoring upstart Miami’s offensive line. Projects as a left tackle.

2/9/09: Missed some time with a leg injury as a junior.

7/27/08: An athletic left tackle who has been a starter for Miami ever since he arrived on campus.

  13. Kyle Calloway, Iowa
    Height: 6-6. Weight: 323.
    Projected 40 Time: 5.22.
    Combine 40 Time: 5.51.
    Pro Day 40 Time: 5.53.
    Benchx225: 24. Arm: 33 1/4.
    Projected Round (2010): 3-4.

1/18/10: Earned an All-Big Ten honorable mention. A solid right tackle prospect whose DUI shouldn’t be a concern because he was riding a moped at the time.

10/24/09: Projects as a very solid right tackle in the NFL, but Kyle Calloway was arrested for drunk driving in September.

2/9/09: A right tackle at the next level, Kyle Calloway as an All-Big Ten second-teamer.

7/27/08: Looking to become the next successful Hawkeye to transition to the NFL, Kyle Calloway started every game for Iowa in 2007, alternating between left and right tackle.

  14. Sam Young, Notre Dame
    Height: 6-8. Weight: 315.
    Projected 40 Time: 5.20.
    Combine 40 Time: 5.19.
    Pro Day 40 Time: DNP.
    Benchx225: 29. Arm: 34 1/2.
    Projected Round (2010): 4-5.

1/31/10: I can’t believe I’m saying this, but Sam Young actually looked good in the Senior Bowl. He opened up a huge lane for his running back in the first quarter and was sound in pass protection all afternoon.

1/26/10: As a right tackle prospect, weighing in at 305 wasn’t good for Sam Young’s stock.

1/18/10: Made a huge mistake by not declaring for the 2009 NFL Draft; Sam Young had a horrific senior campaign.

10/24/09: Probably should have declared last year; USC exposed Sam Young.

11/1/08: As expected, Sam Young really improved this season and has emerged as a possible second-round prospect.

2007: Sam Young really struggled at Penn State. On one drive, he was guilty of holding and false start penalties. He was also responsible for a few sacks allowed.

Young was arguably the top recruit in the 2006 high school class, and you can tell why by just looking at him. Started for Notre Dame as a true freshman and went against the likes of Lawrence Jackson. Still has room to grow, which is pretty scary.

  15. Selvish Capers, West Virginia
    Height: 6-5. Weight: 306.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.91.
    Combine 40 Time: 5.14.
    Pro Day 40 Time: 5.08.
    Benchx225: 22. Arm: 34.
    Projected Round (2010): 4-5.

2/13/10: Selvish Capers struggled in the Senior Bowl. He’s a long-term project.

1/26/10: Selvish Capers weighed in at 304 pounds – 15 above his listing. There aren’t many sub-300-pound starting offensive tackles, so this boosts Capers’ stock a bit.

1/18/10: An All-ACC second-teamer, Selvish Capers is a raw, but athletic left tackle. He’s a project.

10/24/09: A project of a left tackle, though Al Davis may draft him in Rounds 2-4.

11/1/08: Perfect for the zone-blocking scheme, Selvish Capers’ athleticism will turn some heads at the Combine.

  16. Derek Hardman, Eastern Kentucky
    Height: 6-6. Weight: 305.
    Projected 40 Time: 5.19.
    Combine 40 Time: .
    Benchx225: . Arm: .
    Projected Round (2010): 4-5.

1/18/10: As long as Hardman stays away from Magnet Man’s magnets, he’ll be a solid pro. A Division 1-AA AP All-America first-teamer.

10/24/09: The athletic Derek Hardman was named a preseason All-American in August.

  17. Zane Beadles, OT/G, Utah
    Height: 6-4. Weight: 307.
    Projected 40 Time: 5.26.
    Pro Day 40 Time: DNP.
    Benchx225: 30. Arm: 33 3/4.
    Projected Round (2010): 4-5.

1/18/10: A smart tackle, Zane Beadles was once again an All-Mountain West first-teamer.

2/9/09: A major reason why Utah was able to be crowned national champs, Zane Beadles was an All-Mountain West first-teamer.

7/27/08: Zane Beadles qualified for the All-Mountain West second team, as he started 13 games at left tackle in 2007 after starting 12 contests at guard as a freshman.

  18. Mike Tepper, California
    Height: 6-5. Weight: 320.
    Projected 40 Time: 5.24.
    Combine 40 Time: 5.36.
    Pro Day 40 Time: 5.25.
    Benchx225: 28. Arm: 32 1/2.
    Projected Round (2010): 5-6.

1/18/10: Started every game at left tackle and qualified for the All-Pac 10 First Team.

5/15/09: Missed all of 2008 with pectoral and groin injuries. Forunately, Cal’s left tackle received another year of eligibility.

  19. Ciron Black, LSU – Scouting Report
    Height: 6-4. Weight: 327.
    Projected 40 Time: 5.27.
    Combine 40 Time: 5.49.
    Benchx225: 23. Arm: 33.
    Projected Round (2010): 5-6.

2/28/10: Not a good Combine for Ciron Black: A slow 40 (5.49), short arms (33) and a weak bench performance (23 reps). He also looked really stiff in the drills. All of this, after a pedestrian senior season. Black is a late-round prospect.

1/18/10: An AP All-American third-teamer, Ciron Black had 53 consecutive starts at LSU, but wasn’t very effective as a senior.

1/6/09: Ciron Black, who has started all 39 of his games at LSU at left tackle, is an All-SEC second-teamer.

  20. Ramon Harewood, Morehouse
    Height: 6-6. Weight: 341.
    Projected 40 Time: 5.24.
    Pro Day 40 Time: 5.18.
    Benchx225: . Arm: .
    Projected Round (2010): 6-7.

  21. Andrew Tyshovnytsky, Fordham
    Height: 6-4. Weight: 317.
    Projected 40 Time: 5.10.
    Pro Day 40 Time: 4.91.
    Benchx225: 33. Arm: .
    Projected Round (2010): 6-7.

3/9/10: Andrew Tyshovnytsky shined at his Pro Day. In addition to running a 4.91 and benching 225 pounds 33 times, he performed well in the positional drills. If Al Davis’ gargoyles get these numbers to their master, Tyshovnytsky will be an Oakland Raider.

    MISSING

  22. Dennis Landolt, Penn State
    Height: 6-4. Weight: 310.
    Projected 40 Time: 5.11.
    Pro Day 40 Time: 5.00.
    Benchx225: . Arm: .
    Projected Round (2010): 6-7.

    1/18/10: An AP All-America third-teamer.

2/9/09: After a very good junior season, Dennis Landolt was voted as an All-Big Ten honorable mention.

7/27/08: A first-year starter in 2007, Dennis Landolt surprised many by becoming one of the team’s top offensive lineman almost instantly. Landolt is athletic and could play on either side at the next level.

  23. Chris Scott, Tennessee
    Height: 6-4. Weight: 319.
    Projected 40 Time: 5.43.
    Combine 40 Time: 5.49.
    Benchx225: 19. Arm: 34 1/8.
    Projected Round (2010): 6-7.

1/18/10: An All-AP second-teamer, Chris Scott played well all year before struggling against Virginia Tech in their winter scrimmage.

10/24/09: Named SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week once this year.

2/9/09: Things were much different for the Vols in 2008. The offense was completely inept and the Great Pumpkin was consequently fired. Chris Scott will need Lane Kiffin to help his stock rebound.

7/27/08: A versatile lineman who can play just about every position up front. He started every game for a unit that surrendered only four quarterback sacks in 2007.

  24. Kyle Jolly, North Carolina
    Height: 6-6. Weight: 312.
    Projected 40 Time: 5.10.
    Combine 40 Time: 5.43.
    Benchx225: 20. Arm: 33 1/2.
    Projected Round (2010): 6-7.

1/18/10: An All-ACC honorable mention, Kyle Jolly recently received an invite to the Combine.

5/15/09: Left tackle Kyle Jolly has started 25 games as a Tar Heel.

  25. Chris Marinelli, Stanford
    Height: 6-7. Weight: 301.
    Projected 40 Time: 5.12.
    Pro Day 40 Time: 5.07.
    Benchx225: 16. Arm: .
    Projected Round (2010): 7-FA.

1/18/10: Chris Marinelli replaced Matt Kopa at the beginning of the year and played brilliantly, earning a spot on the AP All-America Second Team.

10/24/09: Continues to have issues with a shoulder injury.

2/9/09: Despite missing a couple of games with a shoulder injury, Chris Marinelli was an honorable mention on the All-Pac 10 Team.

7/27/08: Chris Marinelli was inserted into the lineup at right tackle as a freshman and never looked back. Marinelli started every game at that position as a sophomore.

  26. Kevin Haslam, Rutgers
    Height: 6-5. Weight: 304.
    Projected 40 Time: 5.22.
    Pro Day 40 Time: 5.65.
    Benchx225: 24. Arm: .
    Projected Round (2010): 7-FA.

3/10/10: Could only complete one 40-yard dash (5.65) at his Pro Day. Sad, but true.

10/24/09: Has rotated at guard and right tackle at Rutgers.

  27. Adam Ulatoski, Texas
    Height: 6-5. Weight: 300.
    Projected 40 Time: 5.21.
    Combine 40 Time: 5.53.
    Benchx225: 24. Arm: 33 1/4.
    Projected Round (2010): 7-FA.

1/18/10: Made the All-Big XII Second Team.

1/6/09: Adam Ulatoski’s play improved in 2008, granting him a spot on the All-Big XII First Team.

5/24/08: An imposing figure on the offensive line with his 6-8 frame, Adam Ulatoski is a solid run-blocker who can play guard. An honorable mention for the All-Big XII Team.

  28. James Williams, Harvard
    Height: 6-5. Weight: 290.
    Projected 40 Time: 5.21.
    Pro Day 40 Time: 5.54.
    Benchx225: 16. Arm: .
    Projected Round (2010): 7-FA.

1/18/10: James “Little Cat” Williams was a Division 1-AA AP All-America second-teamer. Hopefully he gets a Combine invite.

2/9/09: An athletic left tackle, James Williams was one of the main reasons why Harvard had the most potent offense in the Ivy League. He qualified for the conference’s first team.

  29. Thomas Welch, Vanderbilt
    Height: 6-7. Weight: 306.
    Projected 40 Time: 5.26.
    Combine 40 Time: 5.46.
    Pro Day 40 Time: 5.40.

    Combine 40 Time: .

    1/18/10: Made the All-WAC First-Team.

2/9/09: Improved his play even more in 2008, qualifying for the All-WAC Second Team.

7/27/08: Alonzo Durham, who started every game in 2007, might be a bit undersized as an offensive tackle, but he’s very quick and pass blocks extremely well. He’ll fit into the zone-blocking scheme.

  33. J’Marcus Webb, West Texas A&M
    Height: 6-7. Weight: 328.
    Projected 40 Time: 5.30.
    Pro Day 40 Time: 5.29.
    Benchx225: 17.
    Projected Round (2010): 7-FA.

1/18/10: Was an All-MVC first-teamer, finishing his career with 33 starts (including all 11 in 2009).

2/9/09: Once again went through an entire season without missing a start. Unfortunately, Keith Buckman was just an honorable mention on the All-MVC Team.

7/27/08: A member of the All-Great West first team in 2007, it should be interesting to see how Keith Buckman fares in a more competitive Missouri Valley.

  35. Cole Pemberton, Colorado State
    Height: 6-7. Weight: 305.
    Projected 40 Time: 5.30.
    Combine 40 Time: 5.39.

    Benchx225: 19. Arm: 33 1/2.
    Projected Round (2010): FA.

2/28/10: Once a great prospect, Dace Richardson has suffered through so many injuries that he has nothing left.

  37. Marlon Winn, Texas Tech
    Height: 6-5. Weight: 305.
    Projected 40 Time: 5.17.

7/27/08: Marlon Winn was inserted into the starting lineup when Texas Tech’s starting right tackle went down with an injury. Winn performed admirably in his absence.

  38. Mike Aguayo, UTEP
    Height: 6-4. Weight: 300.
    Projected 40 Time: 5.11.
    Combine 40 Time: .
    Benchx225: . Arm: .
    Projected Round (2010): FA.

1/18/10: Finished his career with 37 starts, earning a spot on the All-Conference USA First Team.

2/9/09: Voted on as an All-Conference USA honorable mention despite missing a couple of games with an ankle injury.

7/27/08: Mike Aguayo’s a borderline NFL prospect because he’s small and not very athletic. That said, Aguayo was able to start four games as an 18-year-old freshman, which is pretty impressive.
