2023 Fantasy Football Sleepers

2023 Fantasy Football Sleepers (May 19):

This is a list of my favorite 2023 fantasy football sleepers - underrated players who are going way later than they should (ADP end eighth round or lower.) The Average Draft Position (ADP) is found on FantasyPros.com, FantasyFootballCalculator.com, or FantasyPoints.com.

The sleepers from 2018 were a hit, as some of the top players on the list were Phillip Lindsay, Chris Godwin, Kenny Golladay, George Kittle and Patrick Mahomes. My top 2019 sleeper was Devin Singletary (prior to the LeSean McCoy release), but the others, aside from Preston Williams, weren't so great. The 2020 list had some nice hits, with Justin Jefferson being on this page. The 2021 sleepers were a bit of a letdown, thanks in part to the Bills using Emmanuel Sanders over Gabriel Davis until the playoffs.

  1. Alexander Mattison Alexander Mattison, RB, Vikings. ADP: 9.06.

If you're drafting soon, you'll want to grab Alexander Mattison ahead of this ADP. There's a chance Dalvin Cook will be traded, and if that happens, Mattison will be Minnesota's starting running back.

  2. Kadarius Toney Kadarius Toney, WR, Chiefs. ADP: 9.07.

The Chiefs traded for Kadarius Toney in the middle of this past season, so he never got acclimated to the offense. Now that he knows the system, he could be in for a huge year, especially with JuJu Smith-Schuster gone.

  3. Samaje Perine Samaje Perine, RB, Broncos. ADP: 9.11.

I love Javonte Williams in general, but he's coming off a torn ACL. It's going to be tough for him to handle a full workload, meaning Samaje Perine will be heavily involved. Perine has proven that he can be an effective back when given the chance, and Denver made some great upgrades to the offensive line this offseason.

  4. Kendre Miller Kendre Miller, RB, Saints. ADP: 13.01.

Plenty of scouts were high on Kendre Miller entering the 2023 NFL Draft. The Saints, who drafted him in the third round, may lose Alvin Kamara to suspension. If so, Miller will share some sort of a workload with Jamaal Williams.

  5. Jahan Dotson Jahan Dotson, WR, Redskins. ADP: 9.01.

Jahan Dotson missed five games as a rookie, but showed some flashes. He'll be better with experience and a quarterback upgrade. And yes, Sam Howell is an upgrade over Carson Wentz. I think anyone is an upgrade over Wentz at this point.

  6. Rashid Shaheed Rashid Shaheed, WR, Saints. ADP: 16.07.

Rashid Shaheed was a dynamic deep threat last year. He'll have good upside with Derek Carr serving as an upgrade over Andy Dalton.

  7. Rashee Rice Rashee Rice, WR, Chiefs. ADP: 14.10.

Rookie ADPs may not be fully accurate yet, so I didn't want to list too many first-year players. However, Rashee Rice is intriguing because he will be playing with Patrick Mahomes. Rice is a second-round rookie who could thrive in Kansas City's explosive offense.

  8. Chase Brown Chase Brown, RB, Bengals. ADP: 15.04.

We'll have to see how Chase Brown looks in preseason games because he was only a fifth-round pick, but there's some upside here because of the situation. Joe Mixon sucked last year and could be suspended for some off-the-field actions, which could allow Brown to start.

  9. Greg Dulcich Greg Dulcich, TE, Broncos. ADP: 13.04.

Greg Dulcich is going way too late in drafts. He's an athletic tight end who had some strong performances last year as a rookie. With Russell Wilson having better pass protection, Dulcich could end up having a strong second season.

  10. Chig Okonkwo Chig Okonkwo, TE, Titans. ADP: 11.06.

Chig Okonkwo has high upside heading into his second year. He had some solid performances down the stretch.
