Trey Millard, FB, Oklahoma
Height: 6-2. Weight: 247.
Projected 40 Time: 4.68.
Projected Round (2014): 5-7.
5/6/14 Millard played well in 2013 with 97 yards on 17 carries (5.7 average) and a touchdown on the ground, and 11 receptions for 78 yards with a score as a receiver. Millard was a tremendous blocker and showed the ability to contribute to double-teams against Notre Dame defensive tackle Louis Nix. Unfortunately, Millard’s season ended early with a torn ACL against Texas Tech. He couldn’t run at the Combine coming off injury. Millard is also viewed as a special teams ace and was on kick coverage when he suffered that ACL tear.
8/3/13: Millard performed well as a lead blocker in 2012 and was an under-utilized weapon as a ball-carrier. He recorded 33 carries for 198 yards and 30 receptions for 337 yards and four touchdowns. Millard had a huge performance against Texas with five receptions for 119 yards and a touchdown, plus 45 yards rushing on three carries. The junior was going to enter the 2013 NFL Draft before changing his mind prior to the deadline.
Millard is an outstanding lead blocker and is very powerful at the point of attack. He can create holes with hits on linebackers. Millard also can contribute as a short-yardage runner. Some feel that he is in the running as Oklahoma’s best all-around player.
Millard was a First-Team All-Big XII selection the past two seasons and an All-Big XII Second-Team selection as a true freshman in 2010. His game is what the NFL looks for in fullbacks.
Personal: Psychology major. Son of Rob and Joy Millard.

J.C. Copeland, FB, LSU
Height: 5-11. Weight: 271.
Projected 40 Time: 4.95.
Projected Round (2014): 6-FA.
5/6/14 Copeland played well for LSU as a lead blocker for Jeremy Hill and LSU’s other backs. Copeland recorded 25 yards on 13 carries with three touchdowns in 2013. He made four receptions for 31 yards. Copeland did well at the Combine and has a shot at getting drafted.
8/3/13: Copeland was a powerful lead blocker for the Tigers in 2012. He had 21 carries for 67 yards and four touchdowns with three receptions for 54 yards. Copeland is a physical force who blasts open holes for running backs. He may need to trim some weight for the NFL.
Personal: Majoring in sports administration. Son of Sonya Copeland.
-
Jay Prosch, FB, Auburn
Height: 6-0. Weight: 256.
Projected 40 Time: 4.85.
Projected Round (2014): 6-FA.
5/6/14 Prosch was a phenomenal run-blocker in 2013 and put on clinics against Georgia, Alabama and Missouri. He did a superb job of paving the way for Tre Mason and Keith Marshall to tear up defenses. Prosch is extremely strong and physical, yet has some quickness. He ran the ball 12 times in 2013 for 38 yards with two touchdowns. Prosch had five receptions for 95 yards, too. He had a mixed performance at the Senior Bowl and didn’t participate in the Combine.
8/3/13: Prosch is a heavy lead blocker who is also a good special teams player. He was new to Auburn in 2012, having played at Illinois his first two seasons. Prosch ran for 38 yards and two scores on 12 carries for the Tigers. He also caught five passes for 19 yards.
Prosch transferred because of an illness in his family and wanted to be closer to his home in Mobile, Alabama. He didn’t receive carries for the Illini, but he was an effective blocker. Prosch also led Illinois in special teams tackles. He started seven games as a true freshman in 2010.
Personal: Business major. Son of Jerry and the late Iris Prosch.
-
Ryan Hewitt, FB, Stanford
Height: 6-4. Weight: 246.
40 Time: 4.87.
Projected Round (2013): 6-FA.
5/6/14 Hewitt totaled five carries for eight yards with eight receptions for 35 yards in 2013. He blocked well for Stanford, especially against Oregon. Hewitt had a mixed week at the Senior Bowl, but ran faster than expected at the Combine.
8/3/13: Hewitt was an essential part of the Cardinal’s offense in 2012. He was a great lead blocker for Stepfan Taylor and also contributed in the passing game as a receiver and blocker. Hewitt caught 14 passes for 129 yards and a touchdown with 13 carries for 32 yards and a score.
Hewitt had 34 receptions for 282 yards and five touchdowns in 2011 as an outlet for Andrew Luck. Hewitt has starting potential in the NFL.
Personal: Majoring in science, technology and society. Son of Keith and Mary Hewitt.
-
Maurice Hagens, FB, Miami
Height: 5-11. Weight: 250.
Projected 40 Time: 4.65.
Projected Round (2014): 6-FA.
5/6/14 Sources with NFL teams tell WalterFootball.com that Hagens could be worthy of a pick late on the third day, but may slip through the draft because of the downgrading of the fullback position. As a senior, Hagens had 22 yards on five carries with seven receptions for 83 yards. The past two seasons, he did a great job as a lead blocker for Duke Johnson.
Off the field, Hagens is known as a hard-worker with a team-first attitude. He should be an asset on special teams as well after playing on Miami’s special teams units.

Trey Burton, FB/WR/TE, Florida
Height: 6-3. Weight: 224.
40 Time: 4.62.
Projected Round (2014): 7-FA.
5/6/14 With injuries decimating Florida, Burton took on a bigger role for the Gators in 2013. He totaled 12 carries for 56 yards with 38 receptions for 445 yards and a touchdown. For the NFL, Burton is a tweener between fullback, wide receiver and tight end. He had an impressive Combine workout, but is too undersized for tight end.
8/3/13: Burton continues to develop as a fullback who can contribute in a variety of ways. The Gators have utilized him as their wildcat quarterback, and he has performed well in that role. Burton made a long touchdown run against Tennessee in 2012 to help Florida make a second-half comeback for a road win. He had three carries for 91 yards and two touchdowns against the Volunteers.
Burton totaled 166 yards on the ground while averaging 6.9 yards per carry last season. The junior recorded 17 receptions for 164 yards and a touchdown as well. He also improved as a lead blocker.
The athletic Burton started out his career as a spread-option quarterback under Urban Meyer and was moved all over the offensive formation. Burton played quarterback, fullback, tight end, wide receiver and special teams as a freshman in 2010. He averaged 4.7 yards per carry while totaling 349 yards rushing and 11 touchdowns. Burton had a six touchdown game against Kentucky (five rushing, one receiving) that set records for the Gators.
Burton found a home at fullback in Charlie Weis’ pro-style offense in 2011 and the sophomore had a quality season as a blocker. Burton also ran the ball 37 times for 125 yards and three touchdowns. Furthermore, he caught 19 passes for 149 yards and a score.
Burton needs more bulk and experience, but he could be a unique fullback in the NFL. Developing his lead-blocking ability is the biggest task for Burton to improve his draft stock.
