Javon Kilgore, S, South Carolina

Javon Kilgore’s 4.4 40 time was very impressive until the other safeties ran. Still, it was a great time. Kilgore also leapt 37 inches in the vertical and 10-10 in the broad jump.

Xavier Nwankpa, S, Iowa

Xavier Nwankpa didn’t have the same, amazing testing numbers that other safeties did, but he’s a 6-foot-3 player, so his relative athletic score was very high. Nwankpa ran a 4.48 40 and notched a 37.5-inch vertical. He also looked good in the drills.

V.J. Payne, S, Kansas State

V.J. Payne is another safety who did very well in the drills. The testing numbers were also great. Payne, at 6-foot-3, 206, notched a 4.40 40 with a 10-7 broad jump and a 35-inch vertical jump.

Genesis Smith, S, Arizona

I’m sure some were excited to see Genesis Smith show off some sonic speed in the 40 after his excellent 42.5-inch vertical and 10-foot-8 broad jump, but he chose not to participate. Still, the jumping numbers were intriguing, so people will have to wait until his pro day to see how fast he can run.

Robert Spears-Jennings, S, Oklahoma

The fireworks really began during the safety workouts when Robert Spears-Jennings ran his 40. Spears-Jennings, at 6-foot-2, 205, clocked in with a 4.32 40. He also recorded a 10-foot-5 broad jump.

Lorenzo Styles, LB, Ohio State

Sonny Styles stole the show during the linebacker workouts on Thursday, and his older brother, Lorenzo Styles, did the same during the safety portion. Styles was disappointed with his 39-inch vertical, but then he went on to clock in at 4.27 in the 40-yard dash.

Dillon Thieneman, S, Oregon

Dillon Thieneman is a very instinctive safety, and now we know that he has the elite athleticism to match it. Thieneman began his day with a 41-inch vertical and a 10-foot-5 broad jump. He then went on to notch a 4.35 40-yard time with a 1.52 split.
