2026 NFL Combine Stock Report:
DE | DT
This is the 2026 NFL Combine Stock Report for the defensive ends. Follow me @walterfootball for updates.
David Bailey, DE, Texas Tech
David Bailey did everything despite being locked into a top-five pick. He cemented his status and even made a push to be the No. 2 overall pick. Bailey ran a 4.50 40 with a 1.62 10-yard split. He hit 35 inches in the vertical and 10-9 in the broad jump. He also aced all of the drills.
Reuben Bain, DE, Miami
Reuben Bain didn’t participate in the combine drills or testing, but he got measured. The measurements revealed that his arms are a very short 30 7/8 inches. Bain’s production was off the charts at Miami, but the short arms will undoubtedly will be cause for concern for some teams.
Keyron Crawford, DE/OLB, Auburn
I can’t tell you anything about Keyron Crawford’s testing numbers because he didn’t run the 40 or do any of the jumping measurements. However, he participated in the on-field drills and was spectacular. He was one of the best at the on-field drills among players at his position.
Dani Dennis-Sutton, DE, Penn State
It’s never a surprise when a Penn State prospect tests well, and Dani Dennis-Sutton was no exception. Dennis-Sutton’s 40 time didn’t blow anyone away (4.64, 1.63 split), but he notched 39.5 inches in the vertical and 10-11 in the broad jump. To finish things off, he posted the best 3-cone time of all the defensive ends (6.90).
George Gumbs, DE/OLB, Florida
People would have been talking about George Gumbs’ 41-inch vertical if it wasn’t for Sonny Styles’ 43.5-inch vertical. Still, Gumbs had a strong day. He ran a 4.66 40 and also posted a decent time in the 3-cone.
Cashius Howell, DE/OLB, Texas A&M
Everyone discussed Reuben Bain’s 30 7/8-inch arms. Well, Cashius Howell’s arms were even shorter at 30 1/4 inches! Howell had a great 10-yard split of 1.58 to make up for it, but there will be teams that will be concerned with his dinosaur arms.
Malachi Lawrence, DE/OLB, Central Florida
If it wasn’t for Sonny Styles, everyone would be talking about how much of a freak of nature Malachi Lawrence is. Lawrence posted some stellar numbers at the combine, racing a 4.52 40 with a 1.58 10-yard split. He also hit 40 inches in the vertical and 10-10 in the broad jump.
R Mason Thomas, DE/OLB, Oklahoma
R Mason Thomas is an undersized edge player, and his arm length matched his other measurements. His arms weren’t as short as Reuben Bain’s, but 31 5/8 still isn’t ideal. Thomas also needed a faster 40 than a 4.67.
