This page lists all the 2026 Trades for the New York Giants. I’ve listed all of the NFL Free Agent Signing Grades here, which included the trades. Because I’ve begun posting polls for the trades, I thought it would make sense to list just the NFL trades here, so archiving the voting would be easier.

April 2026 – Trades

Bengals acquire DT Dexter Lawrence from Giants for No. 10 overall pick
It was known that Dexter Lawrence was likely to be traded. There was also speculation that the Giants would make some sort of trade involving a pick in the first round. Both came to fruition in this shocking deal.

I understand the logic behind this trade for both teams. The 2026 NFL Draft class is a weak one, so while the 10th-overall pick would normally be too rich to part for a veteran, even a talented one like Lawrence, that’s simply not the case in this instance. There is no one who will be available at No. 10 who will be able to provide the Bengals with the same sort of impact that Lawrence is capable of generating for Cincinnati…

… In the near term, that is. The problem with this deal for the Bengals is that Lawrence will turn 29 during the 2026 NFL season. The Bengals should be able to get three or so great years out of him, but that’s about it. Also, Lawrence is demanding a huge sum of money, and there’s a long history of heavy defensive linemen busting when receiving a big contract because when players of their caliber get fat and happy, it’s difficult to lose the weight. This is a big risk for the Bengals that could pay off – especially because Cincinnati is all in right now – but not nearly as big of a risk as it would’ve been in a normal draft class.

As for the Giants, we all knew this was coming. The Giants didn’t want to pay Lawrence what he was asking. I thought they’d get something like second- and fourth-round picks for him, so No. 10 overall is a great haul – in a normal class. Again, this draft is weaker, so the Giants are getting what would normally be someone like the 18th- or 20th-best player, which is still pretty decent for a soon-to-be 29-year-old defensive tackle.

Grade for Bengals – B+
Grade for Giants – A
