Last week, WalterFootball.com reported here in the Hot Press that the Jacksonville Jaguars, amongst the other teams picking high in the first round, were considering taking Georgia defensive lineman Travon Walker with their selection. Walker’s stock has been skyrocketing with NFL teams, and WalterFootball.com has learned through sources that the Jaguars are holding a private workout with Walker, and that many of their top decision makers will be in attendance.

At the Senior Bowl, WalterFootball.com was first to report that Doug Pederson was going to be the head coach of the Jaguars, and at the combine, WalterFootball.com reported that the Jaguars wanted left tackle Cam Robinson back for 2021. Shortly later, the Jaguars placed the franchise tag on Robinson.

Last week, we reported that the Jaguars really like Walker and Michigan defensive end Aidan Hutchinson. Currently, it sounds like the Jaguars are leaning toward Hutchinson because he produced more, played more snaps, and is less of a projection based on potential. Multiple team sources from around the league, however, feel Hutchinson is a solid double or triple, but not a grand slam. They feel Walker though has grand slam potential.

The Jaguars will be working out Walker privately, and he is in the running for the No. 1-overall pick. Hutchinson is the favorite at this time, but no final decision has been made. The organization is doing a lot of work on Walker, and the possibility exists that they could end up taking Walker with the first pick of the 2022 NFL Draft.
