2013 NBA Draft Scouting Report: Jamaal Franklin
Position: Shooting Guard
Size: 6-5, 205
School: San Diego State, Junior
Strengths:
Weaknesses:
Summary: Franklin is a volume scorer who is at his best when attacking the basket. He also rebounds the ball extremely well for his position, averaging nearly ten boards a night this season. If Franklin were a better outside shooter, the lottery would be in his future, but because he is not, the mid-late first round seems more likely.
Player Comparison: Terrence Williams. Though Williams has improved as an outside shooter, he entered the league as no threat from the outside, and that is a major area Franklin needs to work on as well. However, both guys are great off the bounce and “jacks of all trades” with their ability to make an impact in numerous ways. Like Williams, Franklin has a little attitude to him as well that might rub people the wrong way.
