2020 Fantasy Football Rankings - Tight Ends (Sept. 8):
Top 10 | 11-20 | 21-45

Other Positions: QB | RB | WR | Top 250 | Sleepers | Busts

  1. Hunter Henry, TE, Chargers. Bye: 10.
Hunter Henry once again missed a chunk of action this past season. He was absent for four games, though he still caught 55 passes for 652 yards and five touchdowns. It’s fair to wonder if Henry can stay healthy, and the downgrade at quarterback won’t help.

Projected 2020 Fantasy Stats: 60 catches. 660 yards. 5 total TDs.
    Projected 2020 Fantasy Points: 101.
Projected 2020 PPR Fantasy Points: 161.

  2. Dawson Knox, TE, Bills. Bye: 11.
Dawson displayed some potential as a rookie, logging 28 catches for 388 yards and two touchdowns. He’ll continue to develop with Josh Allen, so he should have a solid sophomore campaign.

Projected 2020 Fantasy Stats: 52 catches. 640 yards. 5 total TDs.
    Projected 2020 Fantasy Points: 94.
Projected 2020 PPR Fantasy Points: 146.

  3. Devin Asiasi, TE, Patriots. Bye: 6.
AUG. 25 UPDATE: Devin Asiasi has impressed with his blocking in training camp thus far. This is important, as it’ll keep him on the field more often. Given how lackluster New England’s receiving corps is, Asiasi could produce despite being a rookie this year.

AUG. 19 UPDATE: Devin Asiasi has been one of the stars of Patriots training camp, with reports indicating that the quarterbacks have loved to target him. Asiasi is just a rookie, but he may receive a bulk of targets, given the lack of talent New England has in its receiving corps.

Devin Asiasi has a good chance to be New England’s starting tight end as a rookie. The inexperienced Jarrett Stidham could utilize him frequently.

Projected 2020 Fantasy Stats: 51 catches. 590 yards. 4 total TDs.
    Projected 2020 Fantasy Points: 93.
Projected 2020 PPR Fantasy Points: 144.

  4. Ryan Griffin, TE, Jets. Bye: 11.
Ryan Griffin stepped up in the wake of Chris Herndon’s injury to post some quality outputs to close out 2019. The Jets rewarded him with a 3-year contract. Griffin will have some potential positive matchups in 2020, so you’ll want to pick him up off the waiver wire for those.

Projected 2013 Fantasy Stats: 54 catches. 520 yards. 6 total TDs.
    Projected 2020 Fantasy Points: 88.
Projected 2020 PPR Fantasy Points: 142.

  5. Tyler Eifert, TE, Jaguars. Bye: 7.
The good news is that Tyler Eifert played all 16 games for the first time in his career last year. The bad news is that he looked like a shell of his former self. It’s unfortunate that so many injuries have derailed his career. He’ll have an opportunity to catch a healthy number of passes in Jacksonville, but it’s difficult to count on him.

Projected 2020 Fantasy Stats: 45 catches. 540 yards. 3 total TDs.
    Projected 2020 Fantasy Points: 87.
Projected 2020 PPR Fantasy Points: 132.

  6. Irv Smith Jr., TE, Vikings. Bye: 7.
Irv Smith Jr. had a disappointing rookie year – 36 catches, 311 yards, two touchdowns – but he has the talent to make a big jump in 2020, especially with Stefon Diggs gone.

Projected 2020 Fantasy Stats: 55 catches. 540 yards. 5 total TDs.
    Projected 2020 Fantasy Points: 84.
Projected 2020 PPR Fantasy Points: 139.

  7. Kyle Rudolph, TE, Vikings. Bye: 7.
Kyle Rudolph caught 39 passes for 367 yards and six touchdowns last year. He was due to lose targets to Irv Smith Jr., but Stefon Diggs’ departure has evened things.

Projected 2020 Fantasy Stats: 50 catches. 530 yards. 5 total TDs.
    Projected 2020 Fantasy Points: 83.
Projected 2020 PPR Fantasy Points: 133.

  8. Jace Sternberger, TE, Packers. Bye: 5.
Jace Sternberger is a promising tight end chosen in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft. His rookie campaign was derailed by an ankle injury, but he could have a decent upcoming season with Jimmy Graham gone.

Projected 2020 Fantasy Stats: 44 catches. 490 yards. 5 total TDs.
    Projected 2020 Fantasy Points: 79.
Projected 2020 PPR Fantasy Points: 123.

  9. Will Dissly, TE, Seahawks. Bye: 6.
Check out Will Dissly’s four stat lines prior to his season-ending injury: 5-50-2, 6-62-1, 7-57-1, 4-81. It’s a shame he got hurt because Dissly would’ve finished as one of the top tight ends in 2019. He’ll have a chance to do so in 2020 if he can remain healthy and ahead of Greg Olsen on the depth chart. There’s no doubt that Olsen’s arrival in Seattle was very harmful for Dissly’s outlook.

Projected 2020 Fantasy Stats: 34 catches. 380 yards. 3 total TDs.
    Projected 2020 Fantasy Points: 76.
Projected 2020 PPR Fantasy Points: 110.

  10. Greg Olsen, TE, Seahawks. Bye: 6.
Greg Olsen signed with the Seahawks. He could catch a healthy number of touchdowns from Russell Wilson. He can be used in favorable matchups.

Projected 2020 Fantasy Stats: 44 catches. 400 yards. 6 total TDs.
    Projected 2020 Fantasy Points: 76.
Projected 2020 PPR Fantasy Points: 120.

  11. Jason Witten, TE, Raiders. Bye: 6.
Jason Witten caught 63 passes in 2019, but didn’t do much with them, as he logged 529 yards and four touchdowns. Witten turns 38 in May, but he’ll join a new team for the first time. He’ll serve as the blocking tight end in Las Vegas.

Projected 2020 Fantasy Stats: 45 catches. 390 yards. 4 total TDs.
    Projected 2020 Fantasy Points: 73.
Projected 2020 PPR Fantasy Points: 129.

  12. Chris Herndon, TE, Jets. Bye: 11.
I liked Chris Herndon as a sleeper heading into 2019, but he was injured the entire season. Given Adam Gase’s incompetence, I can’t recommend Herndon as a draftable fantasy tight end.

Projected 2020 Fantasy Stats: 43 catches. 540 yards. 3 total TDs.
    Projected 2020 Fantasy Points: 72.
Projected 2020 PPR Fantasy Points: 115.

  13. Logan Thomas, TE, Redskins. Bye: 8.
Logan Thomas is currently the favorite to be the starting tight end for the Redskins Football Team.

Projected 2020 Fantasy Stats: 31 catches. 390 yards. 3 total TDs.
    Projected 2020 Fantasy Points: 67.
Projected 2020 PPR Fantasy Points: 98.

  14. Jordan Akins, TE, Texans. Bye: 8.
The younger of the two primary Houston tight ends, Jordan Akins has some potential, but hasn’t realized it yet.

Projected 2020 Fantasy Stats: 38 catches. 430 yards. 4 total TDs.
    Projected 2020 Fantasy Points: 67.
Projected 2020 PPR Fantasy Points: 105.

  15. Jimmy Graham, TE, Bears. Bye: 11.
Jimmy Graham’s career appears to be over. That was apparent to 31 teams, but not the Bears, who gave him a healthy contract for some reason.

Projected 2020 Fantasy Stats: 39 catches. 430 yards. 4 total TDs.
    Projected 2020 Fantasy Points: 67.
Projected 2020 PPR Fantasy Points: 106.

  16. Gerald Everett, TE, Rams. Bye: 9.
Gerald Everett was supposed to be the receiving threat at tight end for the Rams, but Tyler Higbee stole that role from him. Everett will be irrelevant unless Higbee were to suffer an injury.

Projected 2020 Fantasy Stats: 36 catches. 380 yards. 3 total TDs.
    Projected 2020 Fantasy Points: 66.
Projected 2020 PPR Fantasy Points: 102.

  17. Darren Fells, TE, Texans. Bye: 8.
Darren Fells isn’t a particularly good player, but he had a penchant for finding the end zone last year, scoring seven touchdowns. That number could regress a bit in 2020.

Projected 2020 Fantasy Stats: 35 catches. 350 yards. 5 total TDs.
    Projected 2020 Fantasy Points: 65.
Projected 2020 PPR Fantasy Points: 100.

  18. Trey Burton, TE, Colts. Bye: 7.
Trey Burton has been a major disappointment with the Bears, but perhaps he’ll have more success with Frank Reich again.

Projected 2020 Fantasy Stats: 36 catches. 410 yards. 4 total TDs.
    Projected 2020 Fantasy Points: 65.
Projected 2020 PPR Fantasy Points: 101.

  19. Adam Trautman, TE, Saints. Bye: 6.
Adam Trautman will be a nice option if Jared Cook gets hurt. His outlook will be brighter in the future.

Projected 2013 Fantasy Stats: 24 catches. 300 yards. 3 total TDs.
    Projected 2020 Fantasy Points: 63.
Projected 2020 PPR Fantasy Points: 87.

  20. Albert Okwuegbunam, TE, Broncos. Bye: 8.
Albert Okwuegbunam had a chance to be chosen in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He fell to the fourth, however, and he’ll be the second tight end in Denver.

Projected 2020 Fantasy Stats: 26 catches. 340 yards. 3 total TDs.
    Projected 2020 Fantasy Points: 62.
Projected 2020 PPR Fantasy Points: 88.

  21. Jordan Reed, TE, TBA. Bye: 0.
Jordan Reed missed all of 2019. He has been out for 29 of the previous 48 possible games, which is insane. He can’t be trusted, so it’s unclear if any team will sign him.

Projected 2020 Fantasy Stats: 34 catches. 350 yards. 2 total TDs.
    Projected 2020 Fantasy Points: 62.
Projected 2020 PPR Fantasy Points: 96.

  22. Cole Kmet, TE, Bears. Bye: 11.
Cole Kmet will play behind Jimmy Graham right away, so he’s not an enticing option for 2020.

Projected 2020 Fantasy Stats: 36 catches. 300 yards. 3 total TDs.
    Projected 2020 Fantasy Points: 58.
Projected 2020 PPR Fantasy Points: 94.

  23. O.J. Howard, TE, Buccaneers. Bye: 13.
O.J. Howard was a major disappointment in 2019. He caught just 34 passes for 459 yards and scored only once. He also spent some time in Bruce Arians’ dog house. I see no reason to trust him in 2020, especially with Rob Gronkowski on the team.

Projected 2020 Fantasy Stats: 27 catches. 370 yards. 3 total TDs.
    Projected 2020 Fantasy Points: 55.
Projected 2020 PPR Fantasy Points: 82.

  24. Josh Oliver, TE, Jaguars. Bye: 7.
Chosen in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft, Josh Oliver has plenty of potential, but wasn’t able to realize it last year because injuries limited him to four games. Oliver could emerge as a TE2 in 2020, but Tyler Eifert’s presence complicates matters.

Projected 2020 Fantasy Stats: 33 catches. 370 yards. 3 total TDs.
    Projected 2020 Fantasy Points: 55.
Projected 2020 PPR Fantasy Points: 88.

  25. David Njoku, TE, Browns. Bye: 9.
David Njoku missed most of 2019 because of an injury he suffered in Week 2. He’ll be back this upcoming season, but his value is gone with Austin Hooper gone.

Projected 2020 Fantasy Stats: 29 catches. 330 yards. 2 total TDs.
    Projected 2020 Fantasy Points: 45.
Projected 2020 PPR Fantasy Points: 74.

  26. Vance McDonald, TE, Steelers. Bye: 8.
Vance McDonald has been a massive disappointment in Pittsburgh. He failed to take advantage of good matchups last year and struggled overall with 38 catches for 273 yards and three touchdowns. Eric Ebron will ruin things for McDonald.

Projected 2020 Fantasy Stats: 30 catches. 240 yards. 2 total TDs.
    Projected 2020 Fantasy Points: 36.
Projected 2020 PPR Fantasy Points: 66.

  27. Cameron Brate, TE, Buccaneers. Bye: 13.
Cameron Brate is no longer a viable fantasy option under Bruce Arians’ watch, which is unfortunate.

Projected 2020 Fantasy Stats: 23 catches. 210 yards. 2 total TDs.
    Projected 2020 Fantasy Points: 33.
Projected 2020 PPR Fantasy Points: 56.

  28. Jacob Hollister, TE, Seahawks. Bye: 6.
Jacob Hollister played very well to close out the season, but figures to lose snaps to Will Dissly and Greg Olsen. Hollister’s name is one to remember if Dissly and Olsen were to get hurt again.

Projected 2013 Fantasy Stats: 20 catches. 200 yards. 2 total TDs.
    Projected 2020 Fantasy Points: 32.
Projected 2020 PPR Fantasy Points: 52.
