17. NFL Team Logo for Cowboys Dallas Cowboys: K’Lavon Chaisson, DE/OLB, LSU

After giving up on Taco Charlton and losing Robert Quinn in free agency, Dallas could use an edge rusher to go across from Demarcus Lawrence.

Chaisson (6-4, 254) has a lot of upside to fill out his frame and develop into a dangerous edge rusher. He is fast, long, and athletic on the edge. In 2019, he had 60 tackles with 6.5 sacks, a forced fumble and two passes broken up while dealing with an ankle injury. Chaisson missed almost all of his 2018 season with a knee injury. In 2017, he had 27 tackles with two sacks and two passes batted.

18. NFL Team Logo for Dolphins Miami Dolphins: Josh Jones, OT, Houston

Sources say Miami is high on Alabama offensive tackle Jedrick Wills and Georgia tackle Andrew Thomas, but the team will have to move up from this pick to get one of them. I heard that they could look to move up from No. 18 for a tackle if they take a quarterback with the fifth-overall pick. If the Dolphins miss out on the top four offensive tackles, I could see them looking to Austin Jackson or Josh Jones as their long-term tackle to protect their new quarterback. I’ve heard they might prefer Josh Jones. Regardless, they definitely need tackle help to replace Laremy Tunsil.

Jones (6-5, 311) has good size with length, athleticism and agility. He is not overpowering, but he has some ability to manipulate and lean on defenders. There are some parts of his technique that he could work to improve on for the pros, as sometimes he can bend a little at the waist, and in the NFL, it will hurt him to be sloppy by bending at the waist rather than the knee. Multiple teams have told me they graded Jones as a second-day pick in the 2020 NFL Draft but team needs could cause him to go late in the first round. Some evaluators think Jones is a long-term right tackle.

19. NFL Team Logo for Raiders Las Vegas Raiders: Patrick Queen, LB, LSU

Late on Wednesday night I reported that the Raiders and Jaguars were close to a trade for Yannick Ngakoue. . I could see that trade going through even during the 2020 NFL Draft. If the deal doesn’t go through, I think the Raiders could look for some linebacker help, as the position was a big weakness last year and Queen would be a nice scheme fit for them.

In speaking with sources, they thought Queen would be a late first-round or second-round pick, but that variance depended on how he would test in pre-draft workouts and team need. The 6-foot-1, 229-pounder is a fast linebacker who can go sideline to sideline and has three-down starting potential for the NFL. In 2019, Queen totaled 85 tackles with three sacks, an interception and two passes defended. He was red hot to close out the season and was a key defender for the National Champions. Queen projects as a Will linebacker in a 4-3 and he could be a good contributor in pass coverage. He is a heat-seeking missile who flies around the field and has a lot of upside for the next level.

20. NFL Team Logo for Jaguars Jacksonville Jaguars: Trevon Diggs, CB, Alabama

The Jaguars have a lot of directions they could go but they need to add talent to their secondary after trading away Jalen Ramsey and A.J. Bouye. The Jaguars badly need some youth at corner, and I think Diggs would be a good fit in Todd Wash’s defense.

In 2019, Diggs totaled 37 tackles, three interceptions, eight passes defended and a fumble returned 100 yards for a touchdown. The 6-foot-1, 205-pounder has good speed to go along with his size and some instincts, but he is raw and needs development. He bites on double moves, is late getting his head around, and had some ugly moments in crunch time against good opponents.

Diggs showed improvement in 2018 before going down with a broken foot that ended his season midway through the year. He totaled 20 tackles with six passes broken up and one interception on the season before the broken foot. He flashed in 2017, but still was developing at cornerback after starting his career playing both offense and defense. In his sophomore year, Diggs totaled 13 tackles with five breakups and an interception.

21. NFL Team Logo for Eagles Philadelphia Eagles: Justin Jefferson, WR, LSU

The Eagles grab an outside receiver to give Carson Wentz a weapon and a valuable red-zone mismatch creator.

Jefferson was superb in 2019, recording 111 catches for 1,540 yards and 18 touchdowns. The 6-foot-1, 202-pounder has some size to go with some quickness and athleticism. He possesses enough speed to challenge defenses downfield and is very adept at making receptions over defenders. Jefferson is a mismatch problem and dangerous in the red zone. He has a lot of upside and looks like he is just scratching the surface of his talent. In 2018, Jefferson had 54 receptions for 875 yards and six scores.

22. NFL Team Logo for Vikings Minnesota Vikings: Austin Jackson, OT, USC

The Vikings continue to build up their offensive line. They could use more tackle talent, and Jackson would be a great scheme fit for Gary Kubiak.

Evaluators say Jackson is a great athlete with quick feet and excellent agility. The 6-foot-5, 322-pounder is an easy mover with the ability to bend at the knee and play with good leverage. There were times when Jackson got away with some mistakes because he is so athletic, and he will need to work on technique for the NFL. He is raw from a fundamentals standpoint, but his skill set is that of a franchise left tackle.

Team sources say Jackson is a good kid who will interview well in the leadup to the 2020 NFL Draft. Earlier in 2019, Jackson took a leave from the Trojans in order to donate bone marrow to his younger sister, and he played extremely well after returning to them.

23. NFL Team Logo for Patriots New England Patriots: Xavier McKinney, S, Alabama

The Patriots need some youth at safety, and McKinney is a great scheme fit.

McKinney had 95 tackles with three interceptions, three sacks, five passes defended and four forced fumbles in 2019. He broke out in 2018 as Alabama’s best defensive back, totaling 73 tackles with 10 breakups, two interceptions and one forced fumble on the season. The 6-foot, 201-pounder played strong safety in 2018, but he displayed the versatility to play free safety in 2019. McKinney has the speed to run with receivers and tight ends downfield with the size to handle bigger targets and tackling ability. He is a well-rounded safety who can do it all.

24. NFL Team Logo for Saints New Orleans Saints: Kenneth Murray, OLB/ILB, Oklahoma

The Saints grab a linebacker upgrade. Murray would be a steal after the top 20.

In 2019, Murray had 102 tackles with four sacks and four passes batted. The 6-foot-2, 241-pounder is fast and physical. He has good instincts and is always around the ball. Murray is a superb run defender with the speed and athleticism to cover. He looks like a future three-down starter in the NFL and reminds me of a young Thomas Davis.

Murray was a tackling machine for the Sooners in 2018 and one of the nation’s leaders in stops, collecting 155. He also added 12.5 tackles for a loss with two passes batted. As a freshman, Murray had 78 tackles with 7.5 for a loss. He is an instinctive linebacker who is all over the field.

25. NFL Team Logo for Vikings Minnesota Vikings: A.J. Terrell, CB, Clemson

The Vikings could use more cornerback talent. I go back and forth between Kristian Fulton and A.J. Terrell for this pick, but Terrell has the better skill set, so that could push him over Fulton.

Terrell (6-1, 195) notched 34 tackles with three passes broken up and two interceptions in 2019. He has a good skill set and showed a lot of upside in his first season as a starter. As a sophomore, Terrell helped Clemson win a National Championship as the other starting outside corner with Trayvon Mullen. Terrell produced well for the Tigers in 2018 with 54 tackles, three passes broken up and three interceptions. Terrell also flashed as a freshman backup with an interception and seven breakups.

26. NFL Team Logo for Dolphins Miami Dolphins: D’Andre Swift, RB, Georgia

The Dolphins grab a feature back for their offense. Miami really struggled to run in 2019 and needs more talent in the backfield along with a better offensive line.

In 2019, Swift averaged 6.2 yards per carry for 1,216 yards with seven touchdowns. He had 24 receptions for 216 yards and a touchdown as well. Swift has a good build to him with a surprising burst to hit the hole and accelerate downfield. He has a lot of upside and enters the NFL without much wear-and-tear due to the Georgia backfield platoon.

Some team sources are high on Swift and feel he is a better prospect than Nick Chubb, Sony Michel or Josh Jacobs were. It can be hard to get carries at Georgia with the program’s stable of future NFL backs, but Swift (5-8, 212) was so talented, he forced his way onto the field. He flashed as a freshman even though Sony Michel and Nick Chubb got the majority of attempts. Swift averaged 7.6 yards per carry for 618 yards and three touchdowns that season. In 2018, it was Elijah Holyfield who split the touches with Swift. Swift took over as a starter that season and totaled 1,049 yards with an average of 6.4 yards per carry and 10 touchdowns on only 163 carries. The sophomore also contributed well as a receiver, collecting 32 receptions for 297 yards and three touchdowns.

27. NFL Team Logo for Seahawks Seattle Seahawks: Jonathan Taylor, RB, Wisconsin

Jon Schneider always does something unexpected, so this pick could be another Seattle shocker. Chris Carson and Rashaad Penny are coming off serious injuries, plus Carson is entering the last year of his contract. Taylor could be the highest graded player available at this point in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Taylor averaged 6.3 yards per carry in 2019 for 2,003 yards with 21 touchdowns. He had 26 receptions for 252 yards and five touchdowns as well. As a sophomore, Taylor averaged 7.1 yards per carry for 2,194 yards with 16 touchdowns. He had eight receptions for 60 yards as well. Taylor broke out in 2017, averaging 6.6 yards per carry for 1,977 yards with 13 touchdowns.

Taylor (5-10, 226) has a nice combination of size, quickness, and natural running skills. He is power runner to go through contact with good balance and a burst to the second level. In the open field, he is tough to get down given his tremendous stiff arm. The junior also has some receiving skills, but fumbling and ball security is something he needs to improve for the NFL.

28. NFL Team Logo for Ravens Baltimore Ravens: Yetur Gross-Matos, DE/3-4OLB, Penn State

The Ravens could go a lot of directions with this pick, but reinforcing the defense isn’t a bad idea. They need more edge-rushing talent across from Matt Judos.

In 2019, Gross-Matos had 40 tackles with 9.5 sacks. He enjoyed a breakout sophomore season in 2018, recording 54 tackles for a loss, 20 for a loss, eight sacks and two forced fumbles. The 6-foot-5, 266-pounder has a lot of upside to improve as he gains more experience. He has strength and physicality with the quickness to get upfield. Gross-Matos is a good run defender and emerging pass-rusher.

29. NFL Team Logo for Titans Tennessee Titans: Kristian Fulton, CB, LSU

The Titans have a hole at cornerback and could use one with size who can play man on the outside. Fulton would fit that role and has upside for Tennessee to develop.

Sources from three different teams said they had Fulton graded in the second round, but they wouldn’t be surprised if he became a late first-round pick. Fulton (6-0, 197) recorded 38 tackles with 14 passes defensed and one interception in 2019. He had a mixed game against Texas with some nice plays, but he also gave up a touchdown and was flagged for pass interference. Fulton does a good job of running with receivers and preventing separation, but he needs to improve his discipline and also could stand to do a better job of defending the ball on 50-50 plays. Fulton had 17 tackles with one forced fumble, one interception and seven passes broken up in 2018.

30. NFL Team Logo for Packers Green Bay Packers: Tee Higgins, WR, Clemson

The Packers grab an outside receiver and red-zone mismatch weapon for Aaron Rodgers.

Higgins had 59 catches for 1,167 yards with 13 touchdowns in 2019. As a sophomore, he totaled 936 yards on 59 receptions with 12 touchdowns. Higgins (6-4, 216) is a big receiver who presents a size-mismatch issue for defenses. He is dangerous red-zone threat given his length and leaping ability. He is a volleyball player-style receiver who is not a tough wideout to work between the numbers. Higgins runs well enough to get late first-round consideration and should go in the second round if he isn’t a first-round pick.

31. NFL Team Logo for 49ers San Francisco 49ers: Jeremy Chinn, S, Southern Illinois

San Francisco is expected to trade down from this pick. If the 49ers are forced to stay here, I could see them addressing the secondary as they could use a safety upgrade. Chinn has been riser.

Chinn totaled 71 tackles, four interceptions and three passes broken up in 2019. He had a solid week at the Senior Bowl and interviewed well with teams. The 6-foot-3, 219-pounder showed some real speed – 4.45 – at the combine and has a versatile skill set. Teams view him as being a potential hybrid safety linebacker who can do a lot of different things for a defense.

32. NFL Team Logo for Chiefs Kansas City Chiefs: Jeff Gladney, CB, TCU

The Chiefs grab a replacement for Kendall Fuller.

Gladney (5-10, 191) has real cover skills to run with receivers and prevent separation. If he were a little bigger and didn’t have off-the-field concerns, he might be a slam dunk first-round pick. Because Gladney is undersized and has character issues, the consensus grades around the league have him in the second or third round. Gladney totaled 31 tackles with an interception and 14 passes broken up in 2019. For the previous season, he collected 41 tackles, two interceptions and 13 passes broken up. Gladney also had two interceptions as a sophomore.
