2011 NFL Draft E-mails – Quarterbacks, JaMarcus Russell, Awesome Lions Signing

  • From Justin C:

What are your way too early thoughts on underclassmen quarterbacks like Andrew Luck, Blaine Gabbert and Jacory Harris for 2011?

–> Andrew Luck has a chance to be the No. 1 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft. I have him behind Jake Locker right now, but with a big year, Luck could be the favorite to go No. 1. Luck may opt not to declare as a redshirt sophomore, but if Jim Harbaugh leaves Stanford, it’ll be very likely that he’ll be in April’s draft.

Jacory Harris is a late-round prospect. Blaine Gabbert is a mid-round guy; he has some NFL quarterback tools, but playing in that goofy spread offense will push him into Rounds 3-5.

  • From Bengals Fan:

In your 2011 QBs, Kellen More Bosie St. should be somewhere in the top 10. I know that he is a JR. this year but he is a 4th year JR. He runs a pro style offense and is pretty accurate. If I were drafting a QB he would be at least in the top 5. I know that its early but I thought you might want to get Moore on your list. I expect good things out of him this year.

–> Kellen Moore is a mid-round prospect at best. He doesn’t have an NFL arm and is only six feet tall. The only way Moore declares early is if a lunatic terrorist thinks he made fun of Muhammed and threatens him into declaring for the 2011 NFL Draft.

  • From Judson D:

I was thinking, the 49ers didn’t take a QB in the draft and now that Captain Skittles (JaMarcus Russell), with all of his fat-concealed physical talent, has been released it seems like he would be a Singletary type project. Your thoughts?

–> I think that’s a really good landing spot for Captain Skittles. If anyone can turn JaMarcus Russell’s career around, it’s Mike Singletary. More likely though, Captain Skittles will be the water boy for the Super Bowl champion 2014 New England Patriots.

  • From Peter M:

Al Davis? WTF?? Where has Al Davis been the past few weeks? Has he been out killing virgins and drinking goat blood? During the draft he made picks that made sense, almost. He took a guy that a lot of people had mocked to him in the first round in the fourth round. Then he makes a good trade for Jason Campbell. He then proceeds to release Jamarcus Russell. WTF? Where has he been the past few weeks? He will be angry when he finds the shape of his team after his expedition to find the mecca of virgins. It is semi depressing as we will have no way to make fun of the Raiders because they might be halfway decent. Where has Al been???

–> It’s very weird. I’ve come up with a few explanations for what has happened:

    1. It’s virgin hunting season, and Al Davis is preparing for his harvest.

    2. Undead Al realized that JaMarcus Russell sucks when Russell consumed Davis’ secret stash of raw meat and goat blood.

    3. Someone forgot to go to Al Davis’ underground crypt to wake him up.

    4. Al was so embarrassed by his past three crappy drafts that he finally delegated some of the responsibilities to his employees.

That last one is serious. Al Davis was not making the decisions during the first two days of the 2010 NFL Draft.

  • From Joe M:

THE LIONS SIGNED C.C. BROWN!!! 1 YEAR DEAL!

–> I don’t think anyone has ever been this excited for a C.C. Brown signing. Not even C.C. Brown’s mom.

  • From Cullen I:

c.c. brown was signed by the lions. he was forced to play a fs even though he was a ss since there was only one fs and that’s why he sucked.

–> What is going on here? Why are people excited about this? Are these people thrilled to go to the dentist as well? Are they this inexplicably happy when they’re audited by the IRS? “Hey guys, this serial killer is about to slice my skull open with an ax! Yes!!!!”
