2011 NFL Draft E-mails – Random NFC Questions and Comments
Wow…you guys don’t have a clue when it comes to the Falcons. 4 offensive picks and 1 horrific DE?
–> Like it or not, the Falcons will be going offense early and often this April. They need to find weapons for Matt Ryan, and Thomas Dimitroff and his staff are already deciding which receiver to draft. Torrey Smith would be a great complement for Roddy White, and he fits the high-character mold that Dimitroff looks for. The Kyle Rudolph selection in Round 2 was a value pick.
“With Tony Gonzalez regressing at an alarming rate, Matt Ryan’s only viable option this season was Roddy White.” You are joking right? Did you not watch Tony Gonzalez this year? Did Tony not catch some 70 passes and make the Pro Bowl this year? While the Falcons do need another receiver besides Roddy White, your comment about TG is completely incorrect.
–> This is a classic case of looking at box scores and not watching football games. Tony Gonzalez’s numbers and Pro Bowl appearance were a farce. He could barely move at the end of the year. He’s done.
Wow I know you didnt try to sell Akeem Ayers going high as 19th by saying you see him as the next Manny Lawson!! Now I cant lie I havent seen much of Ayers play in college but if he is going to be the next Manny Lawson then you can have that cuz Manny sucks!
–> Manny Lawson does not suck. If you want to look at sack totals and nothing else, then he sucks. But Lawson is great in coverage and run support. He’s been out of place as a 3-4 rush linebacker. He could be one of the top players at his position as a 4-3 strongside linebacker.
Walt- There’s a reason the Bears moved Chris Williams inside to guard; he was a mediocre tackle. I highly doubt they move him back, as he actually played pretty solid at left guard.
–> He was even worse at guard; the consensus belief among the Bears beat writers working at the Chicago Tribune is that Williams will not be back at guard next year. He might be out of a job all together, but if he’s starting somewhere next year, it’ll be at left tackle because it’s a lot easier to improve the guard position than it is to find an upgrade at left tackle.
walter or who ever make the 2011 mock daft i got a couple of qustins for you. you have the rams taking some OL guy instead of zack ruldolph. WHY THEY REALLY NEED A TE!!!
–> I’ve mocked Kyle Rudolph to the Rams for a while, but I’m not going to do that ever again. Josh McDaniels is their new offensive coordinator, and he doesn’t like to utilize pass-catching tight ends in his offense. Luckily he’s not the general manager, so he won’t be able to draft Dick Quinn’s twin brother in the second round this April.
I think there is a chance the Cowboys can get Patrick Peterson wit the 9th pick.
–> And maybe I’ll score a hot date with Katy Perry. I really can’t see Patrick Peterson making it past the 49ers or Titans at pick Nos. 7 and 8 – if he even makes it that far. Peterson is arguably the top player in the 2011 NFL Draft class. I can’t imagine him falling to the Cowboys.
JERRY JONES LIKES INGRAM HE WILL PLAY FOR THE COWBOY’S IF THEY ARE SMART.
–> Is this Dez Bryant? If so, thanks for the inside information! If not, then I’m sorry because you’re probably out of luck. I can’t imagine the Cowboys spending the ninth pick in the 2011 NFL Draft on a running back. If Dallas wants to add another player to its backfield, that’ll be done in Round 3 at the very earliest.
