Season so far

Every game in order, Week 1 first. Opp. rank = where I had the opponent in my power rankings in effect at kickoff. Recaps are mine, word for word.

Opponent's group in my power rankings at kickoff: Group A Group B Group C Group D Group F

Cleveland Browns

Week 1Sun, Sep 13 at Jacksonville Jaguars Opp. rank #10Group B
L 10-34 Line +8.5 ATS: Did not cover (-15.5)

JAGUARS 34, Browns 10 (JAX -8.5). Deshaun Watson was a disaster in this game with many turnovers. The Jaguars took advantage of all the errors. Cleveland's yardage came in garbage time. 360-272 JAX, 6.4-5.6 JAX

Week 2Sun, Sep 20 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers Opp. rank #19Group C
W 23-19 Line +8.5 ATS: Covered (+12.5)

Browns 23, BUCCANEERS 19 (TB -8.5). Baker Mayfield made many terrible throws in this game. One of his few good ones gave the Buccaneers a 16-6 lead, but Tampa Bay couldn't stop the Browns at all late in the game. A 2-and-a-half thunderstorm delayed the inevitable. 313-267 TB, 5.0-4.9 TB

Week 3Sun, Sep 27 vs. Carolina Panthers Opp. rank #20Group D
W 21-18 Line +2.5 ATS: Covered (+5.5)

BROWNS 21, Panthers 18 (CLE +2.5). The Panthers were the better team in this game, but squandered some drives by failing on fourth down, giving the Browns points on one occasion. The Panthers took an 18-13 lead late in the game and sealed the victory, but a roughing-the-passer penalty helped the Browns get a win. 360-259 CAR, 4.9-4.1 CAR

Week 4Thu, Oct 1 vs. Pittsburgh Steelers Opp. rank #22Group D
W 27-24 Line +3 ATS: Covered (+6)

BROWNS 27, Steelers 24 (CLE +3). The Steelers went up 7-0, but the Browns dominated most of the game until late when there was a Deshaun Watson interception. The Steelers tied the game, but Watson came up big in the clutch. 372-361 CLE, 6.0-5.6 CLE

Week 5Sun, Oct 11 at New York Jets Opp. rank #23Group D
L 12-17 Line +1.5 ATS: Did not cover (-3.5)

JETS 17, Browns 12 (NYJ -1.5). The Jets led by one or four for most of the game, but allowed a long touchdown to Denzel Boston. The Browns gave them a short field on a botched snap that turned into a touchdown, and then New York's pass rush hounded Deshaun Watson. 276-198 NYJ, 4.2-3.0 NYJ

Week 6Sun, Oct 18 vs. Baltimore Ravens Opp. rank #5Group A
W 13-10 Line +5.5 ATS: Covered (+8.5)

BROWNS 13, Ravens 10 (CLE +5.5). The Ravens ran well with Derrick Henry early in the game, going up 10-0. They forgot to run him in the second half and couldn't do anything offensively in the second half. The Browns eventually got enough together to win with a field goal at the end. 237-235 CLE, 4.1-4.0 BAL

Tennessee Titans

Week 1Sun, Sep 13 vs. New York Jets Opp. rank #21Group D
L 10-23 Line -1.5 ATS: Did not cover (-14.5)

Jets 23, TITANS 10 (TEN -1.5). The Jets moved the ball well on the Titans, who barely did anything offensively until garbage time. Their only touchdown came very late. 367-195 NYJ, 5.8-4.0 NYJ

Week 2Sun, Sep 20 vs. Philadelphia Eagles Opp. rank #11Group B
L 20-24 Line +7 ATS: Covered (+3)

Eagles 24, TITANS 20 (TEN +7). The Eagles nearly gave this game away with an effective pick-six on the first drive and some big plays surrendered by the defense in a very hot game. The Titans went up 20-17, but Jalen Hurts led a game-winning drive in the final minutes. 341-291 PHI, 5.7-4.7 TEN

Week 3Sun, Sep 27 at New York Giants Opp. rank #15Group C
L 7-12 Line +2.5 ATS: Did not cover (-2.5)

GIANTS 12, Titans 7 (NYG -2.5). The Giants kept the chains moving with tough runs from Cam Skattebo and Najee Harris, but could never score touchdowns. The Titans had three red zone opportunities late but could score only once with a turnover on downs and an interception. 262-238 TEN, 4.6-4.1 TEN

Week 4Sun, Oct 4 at Baltimore Ravens Opp. rank #4Group A
L 18-24 Line +11.5 ATS: Covered (+5.5)

RAVENS 24, Titans 18 (BAL -11.5). The Ravens were up 24-7 at halftime, as the Titans had no answer for Lamar Jackson. Jackson got hurt right before halftime, and the Ravens didn't score a single time in the second half. The Titans got a garbage-time back-door cover at the end. 384-297 BAL, 6.3-5.1 BAL

Week 5Sun, Oct 11 vs. Houston Texans Opp. rank #18Group C
L 3-26 Line +7.5 ATS: Did not cover (-15.5)

Texans 26, TITANS 3 (TEN +7.5). The Titans kicked an early field goal and then the Texans outscored them 26-0 the rest of the way. Their defensive line gave Cam Ward no chance. 329-187 HOU, 5.2-3.2 HOU

Week 6Sun, Oct 18 at Indianapolis Colts Opp. rank #21Group D
W 26-20 Line +7 ATS: Covered (+13)

Titans 26, COLTS 20 (IND -7). The Colts led 13-0, but Daniel Jones made some mistakes in the second half. The Titans got on the board and then scored a touchdown on a blocked punt. Their defense shut down Jones after that to get the win. 399-186 IND, 5.1-4.1 IND
