Russell Wilson, QB, Broncos. Bye: 9.

Russell Wilson was an enormous disappointment in his first season with the Broncos. Much of that was on Nathaniel Hackett, so he’ll play better in 2023 under Sean Payton. It helps that Denver’s front office put tons of resources into improving his blocking.

Bryce Young, QB, Panthers. Bye: 7.

Bryce Young has Russell Wilson-type upside because of his mobility. However, his offensive line won’t be very good, and he won’t have a true No. 1 receiver at his disposal.

Derek Carr, QB, Saints. Bye: 11.

Derek Carr should do a mediocre job as quarterback of the Saints. There’s no reason to have interest in him outside of 2-QB leagues.

Jordan Love, QB, Packers. Bye: 6.

It’s difficult to predict what we will see out of No Cookie Jordan Love. We at least know his receiving corps is rather lackluster.

C.J. Stroud, QB, Texans. Bye: 7.

C.J. Stroud showed off his great mobility in the semi-final game versus Georgia. If he continues to run, he’ll have nice fantasy upside in the NFL. The problem in the meantime is that his receiving corps is very weak.

Ryan Tannehill, QB, Titans. Bye: 7.

Ryan Tannehill will never be a great fantasy quarterback because the Titans run so often, but he can sometimes be used in spot starts. He’ll need Treylon Burks to take the next step to rebound.

Kyler Murray, QB, Cardinals. Bye: 14.

Kyler Murray was always a risk to get injured, but now he’s coming off a torn ACL. As a result, Murray’s running ability will be compromised, rendering him far less effective in fantasy. Given his constant injury issues, I would stay away.

Jimmy Garoppolo, QB, Raiders. Bye: 13.

Jimmy Garoppolo will continue to have issues staying on the field.

Matthew Stafford, QB, Rams. Bye: 10.

Matthew Stafford had a woeful 2022 season, even before he got hurt. The problem is the offensive line, which was a disaster. The Rams have not made major improvements to it.

Mac Jones, QB, Patriots. Bye: 11.

Mac Jones regressed in his second year, thanks to an injury and poor play from the offensive line. He doesn’t have much fantasy appeal, given the Patriots’ expected continued issues with blocking.

Desmond Ridder, QB, Falcons. Bye: 11.

Desmond Ridder didn’t show much upside in four starts last year. It’s difficult to expect much from him.

Baker Mayfield, QB, Buccaneers. Bye: 5.

Baker Mayfield is not expected to be the starting quarterback for the entire year.

Will Levis, QB, Titans. Bye: 7.

Will Levis fell to the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft, which doesn’t bode well for him.

Trey Lance, QB, Cowboys. Bye: 7.

Trey Lance may start next year, whether that’s because he’s traded or Brock Purdy isn’t healthy.

Tom Brady, QB, . Bye: .

Tom Brady has retired. Perhaps he’ll change his mind again, but it’s looking doubtful.
