2022 Fantasy Football Rankings - Running Backs (June 15):
Top 10 | 11-20 | 21-40 | 41-75

Other Positions: QB | WR | TE

  1. David Montgomery, RB, Bears. Bye: 0.

David Montgomery missed several games in 2021, which is why he didn’t hit the 1,000-yard mark. The offensive line wasn’t great either. The Bears didn’t make any upgrades to this area. In fact, they could be worse at blocking in 2022.

Projected 2022 Fantasy Stats: 990 rushing yards. 48 catches. 380 receiving yards. 6 total TDs.
    Projected 2022 Fantasy Points: 173.
Projected 2022 PPR Fantasy Points: 221.

  2. Aaron Jones Aaron Jones, RB, Packers. Bye: 0. Fantasy Football PPR Plus

Aaron Jones has continued to lose touches to A.J. Dillon. He’s still a fine producer, but can no longer be considered in the first round of fantasy drafts.

Projected 2022 Fantasy Stats: 750 rushing yards. 46 catches. 350 receiving yards. 10 total TDs.
    Projected 2022 Fantasy Points: 170.
Projected 2022 PPR Fantasy Points: 216.

  3. James Conner, RB, Cardinals. Bye: 0.

James Conner was surprisingly effective in Arizona last year. He scored double-digit touchdowns and was a big part of the passing game. His scoring is likely regress to the mean, but his yardage could rise in the wake of Chase Edmonds’ departure.

Projected 2022 Fantasy Stats: 900 rushing yards. 42 catches. 360 receiving yards. 7 total TDs.
    Projected 2022 Fantasy Points: 168.
Projected 2022 PPR Fantasy Points: 210.

  4. Miles Sanders, RB, Eagles. Bye: 0.

The Eagles seemed to forget that Miles Sanders existed in the beginning of the year. Sanders’ workload increased late in the season, so that bodes well for his 2022 outlook.

Projected 2022 Fantasy Stats: 940 rushing yards. 30 catches. 200 receiving yards. 6 total TDs.
    Projected 2022 Fantasy Points: 160.
Projected 2022 PPR Fantasy Points: 190.

  5. Damien Harris, RB, Patriots. Bye: 0.

Damien Harris is an excellent runner, but he doesn’t do much in the passing game. Even worse, he may share more touches with Rhamondre Stevenson in 2022.

Projected 2022 Fantasy Stats: 800 rushing yards. 15 catches. 90 receiving yards. 9 total TDs.
    Projected 2022 Fantasy Points: 153.
Projected 2022 PPR Fantasy Points: 168.

  6. Josh Jacobs Josh Jacobs, RB, Raiders. Bye: 0.

June 15 Update: Reports indicate that the Raiders will not give the full workload to Josh Jacobs, as Josh McDaniels has taken a liking to rookie running back Zamir White.

Josh Jacobs endured some terrible blocking, which is why he came nowhere close to 1,000 rushing yards. However, his reception total increased at the end of the year.

Projected 2022 Fantasy Stats: 820 rushing yards. 30 catches. 220 receiving yards. 8 total TDs.
    Projected 2022 Fantasy Points: 152.
Projected 2022 PPR Fantasy Points: 182.

  7. Clyde Edwards-Helaire, RB, Chiefs. Bye: 0.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire failed to take a major step in his second season. It was disappointing to see him come nowhere close to double-digit touchdowns, though he missed a handful of games.

Projected 2022 Fantasy Stats: 800 rushing yards. 26 catches. 180 receiving yards. 8 total TDs.
    Projected 2022 Fantasy Points: 146.
Projected 2022 PPR Fantasy Points: 172.

  8. J.K. Dobbins, RB, Ravens. Bye: 0.

J.K. Dobbins was primed for a big year before suffering a season-ending injury. It was a torn ACL, so I wouldn’t expect Dobbins to play very well in 2022.

Projected 2022 Fantasy Stats: 820 rushing yards. 18 catches. 120 receiving yards. 8 total TDs.
    Projected 2022 Fantasy Points: 142.
Projected 2022 PPR Fantasy Points: 160.

  9. Tony Pollard, RB, Cowboys. Bye: 0.

Tony Pollard was the better running back on Dallas’ roster in 2021. He could take over as the lead back if Ezekiel Elliott continues to disappoint.

Projected 2022 Fantasy Stats: 740 rushing yards. 40 catches. 340 receiving yards. 4 total TDs.
    Projected 2022 Fantasy Points: 142.
Projected 2022 PPR Fantasy Points: 182.

  10. Travis Etienne, RB, Jaguars. Bye: 0.

It’s unclear how well Travis Etienne will fit into Jacksonville’s offense, but he’ll surely catch tons of passes.

Projected 2022 Fantasy Stats: 650 rushing yards. 50 catches. 440 receiving yards. 5 total TDs.
    Projected 2022 Fantasy Points: 139.
Projected 2022 PPR Fantasy Points: 189.

  11. James Robinson, RB, Jaguars. Bye: 0.

James Robinson had to fight through Urban Meyer’s incompetence last year; Meyer gave touches to Carlos Hyde for some reason. Unfortunately for Robinson, he’ll have to share touches with Travis Etienne in 2022, assuming he returns early from his torn Achilles.

Projected 2022 Fantasy Stats: 700 rushing yards. 20 catches. 150 receiving yards. 7 total TDs.
    Projected 2022 Fantasy Points: 137.
Projected 2022 PPR Fantasy Points: 157.

  12. Devin Singletary, RB, Bills. Bye: 0.

Devin Singletary has produced almost the same rushing total each year, but it’s disappointing that he doesn’t score more touchdowns in such a high-powered offense. He’ll lose some touches to James Cook.

Projected 2022 Fantasy Stats: 900 rushing yards. 35 catches. 220 receiving yards. 4 total TDs.
    Projected 2022 Fantasy Points: 136.
Projected 2022 PPR Fantasy Points: 171.

  13. Rhamondre Stevenson, RB, Patriots. Bye: 0.

Rhamondre Stevenson has big-time potential and could supplant Damien Harris as the lead back at some point.

Projected 2022 Fantasy Stats: 800 rushing yards. 25 catches. 200 receiving yards. 6 total TDs.
    Projected 2022 Fantasy Points: 136.
Projected 2022 PPR Fantasy Points: 161.

  14. Cordarrelle Patterson, RB, Falcons. Bye: 0.

It’s still truly astonishing that Cordarrelle Patterson became a solid running back in the NFL. He’ll likely lose some touches next year, but he’s the favorite to handle the ball most often in Atlanta’s offense.

Projected 2022 Fantasy Stats: 550 rushing yards. 38 catches. 430 receiving yards. 6 total TDs.
    Projected 2022 Fantasy Points: 134.
Projected 2022 PPR Fantasy Points: 172.

  15. Melvin Gordon, RB, Broncos. Bye: 0.

Melvin Gordon’s presence was frustrating in Denver because he took touches away from Javonte Williams. He’ll almost certainly lose some touches in 2022.

Projected 2022 Fantasy Stats: 700 rushing yards. 24 catches. 180 receiving yards. 6 total TDs.
    Projected 2022 Fantasy Points: 134.
Projected 2022 PPR Fantasy Points: 158.

  16. Chase Edmonds, RB, Dolphins. Bye: 0.

Chase Edmonds shared the workload with James Conner last year. He was given more of the receiving work, but lost the goal-line opportunities to Conner. Edmonds, who figures to split touches similarly with Raheem Mostert in Miami, is only viable in PPR formats.

Projected 2022 Fantasy Stats: 620 rushing yards. 52 catches. 410 receiving yards. 3 total TDs.
    Projected 2022 Fantasy Points: 131.
Projected 2022 PPR Fantasy Points: 183.

  17. Rashaad Penny, RB, Seahawks. Bye: 0.

Rashaad Penny hadn’t lived up to his first-round billing because of injuries. He was finally healthy at the end of the year, and he had plenty of 100-yard performances to close out the season. I thought he could have a huge 2022 campaign if he managed to stay healthy, but the Kenneth Walker pick changes things.

Projected 2022 Fantasy Stats: 700 rushing yards. 10 catches. 70 receiving yards. 7 total TDs.
    Projected 2022 Fantasy Points: 129.
Projected 2022 PPR Fantasy Points: 139.

  18. Alexander Mattison, RB, Vikings. Bye: 0.

Alexander Mattison has shown that he can perform on an RB1 level when given the chance. He should be rostered at all times just in case Dalvin Cook gets hurt.

Projected 2022 Fantasy Stats: 490 rushing yards. 29 catches. 230 receiving yards. 4 total TDs.
    Projected 2022 Fantasy Points: 126.
Projected 2022 PPR Fantasy Points: 155.

  19. Raheem Mostert, RB, Dolphins. Bye: 0.

Raheem Mostert can’t stay healthy at all; he has played just nine games in the past two years. He’s high risk, high reward because he’s very productive when on the field.

Projected 2022 Fantasy Stats: 550 rushing yards. 14 catches. 110 receiving yards. 6 total TDs.
    Projected 2022 Fantasy Points: 127.
Projected 2022 PPR Fantasy Points: 141.

  20. Kenneth Walker, RB, Seahawks. Bye: 0.

Kenneth Walker is arguably the best runner among the 2022 draft class, though Breece Hall definitely beats him in the receiving department. Unfortunately for Walker, he’ll be playing in a very crowded Seattle backfield.

Projected 2022 Fantasy Stats: 680 rushing yards. 10 catches. 70 receiving yards. 6 total TDs.
    Projected 2022 Fantasy Points: 126.
Projected 2022 PPR Fantasy Points: 136.
