2025 NFL Draft Bust Potential: Offense

By Charlie Campbell – @draftcampbell

In recent weeks, there have been a lot of questions about which players to avoid in the 2025 NFL Draft class. Every draft has some players who are selected highly, only to become massive disappointments in the NFL. Here, we break down some potential busts in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Jaxson Dart, QB, Ole Miss

There are some media projections of Dart being a possible first-round pick, but at the NFL Scouting Combine, I surveyed 10 teams and nine of them said they had Dart lower. Dart’s size and arm strength are not special, and while he is a decent athlete, he is not a running threat. He also showed a lack of mental toughness. I think Dart has the most bust potential of the quarterback prospects that could go early in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Trevor Etienne, RB, Georgia

Etienne was a solid college back for Florida and Georgia, but he never became the dominant producer he was expected to be. With the Bulldogs, Etienne had a good supporting cast with future NFL offensive linemen, yet he had the worst production of his career. Etienne could be a second-day pick, and third-round players are expected to start out as backups and develop into starters. It would not suprise me if Etienne disappointed and ended up topping out as only a backup.

Isaiah Bond, WR, Texas

This year, Bond is likely to be a late first- or second-round pick, and I think that could be a dangerous selection. Bond has some serious speed, and he flashed in college, but he never produced up to his skill set. Throughout his career at Alabama and Texas, he did not have a big season or huge games. Plus, Bond is small and has durability concerns. Bond also has off-the-field concerns. Of the early-round receiver prospects this year, I think Bond could have the largest bust potential.

Tate Ratledge, G, Georgia

There have been some projections of Ratledge going on the second day of the 2025 NFL Draft, but I think that could be risky. Ratledge is big and worked out well at the combine, but he had some ugly tape from the 2024 season, and his backup (Micah Morris) was an upgrade when Ratledge was out with an injury. I think there is a chance that he gets overdrafted and ends up being a disappointment.

Josh Conerly Jr., OT, Oregon

This was a difficult decision because no prospect strikes me as having real bust potential. Conerly is a quality athlete with with smooth movement on the edge. However, he is a finesse blocker and struggles to anchor. That was exposed at the Senior Bowl. Conerly should probably move inside to guard, but even inside he needs to become stouter and add strength.
