The 2025 NFL Draft is just two days away! Here are some rumors that I have heard from sources with the draft just hours away.

One of the most interesting picks in the first round is the Jacksonville Jaguars at pick No. 5. Typically, this close to the draft, with teams picking in the top 5, they generally have an idea as to who they are going to take at this point. However, sources say the Jaguars are still deciding. From speaking with sources, it sounds like the finalists are Michigan defensive tackle Mason Graham, Michigan defensive tackle Kenneth Grant, and Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty. The team has an issue where Grant was graded higher than Graham, but Graham is perceived to be safer and a better culture fit. Jeanty has a lot of momentum as well. Scouts from other teams say they are hearing that Jeanty could be the pick at 5. Sources say that new general manager James Gladstone and head coach Liam Cohen are keeping things hush-hush. The Jaguars are going to be one of the most fascinating picks on the opening night of the draft.

Another mystery team in the top 10 is the New Orleans Saints. Sources from around the league are having a hard time projecting what they will as the Saints have needs all over their roster. They could go quarterback, offensive line, skill position, defensive line, or secondary. The Saints are also keeping things very hush-hush internally. In past years, general manager Mickey Loomis has kept a lot of team staff in the dark, and this year sounds the same. Sources at other teams say they believe the Saints really like Penn State tight end Tyler Warren. Sources say the Saints were all over Georgia defensive end Mykel Williams at his pro day. They also say New Orleans put in a lot of work and manpower on Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart. Those sources feel the Saints are considering Dart more for the second round or trading up from pick 40.

A prospect that is a wild card in the first round is Texas A&M edge rusher Shemar Stewart. Teams agree on Stewart having a great skill set and being very talented. However, his lack of production and need for development bother some evaluators. As a result, Stewart could go as high as the top 10 and could slide into the 20s. Here is what one assistant general manager had to say about Stewart, “It’s a damned if you do, damned if you don’t. If you pass on him and he turns into a good player, you are calling yourself a dummy because his talent is obvious. If you take him and he has three sacks at the end of his second season, you are calling yourself a dummy for ignoring the college production. If you take him, you have to hope he develops like Odafe Oweh has.” In my latest 2025 NFL Mock Draft, I have Stewart sliding some, but I think he will go top-25 based on conversations with multiple sources.

Yesterday, we discussed how some team sources feel Alabama guard Tyler Booker and Ohio State guard Donovan Jackson could go in the 25-32 range of the first round. One team that we reported on previously that really likes Booker is the Indianapolis Colts. While the Colts do really like Booker, it sounds like positional value could lead to them targeting something else at pick 14. This is a big year for the franchise, so that pick might be used on a weapon like a receiving tight end to help their quarterbacks. Sources say they like Penn State tight end Tyler Warren a lot, but Warren may not get to pick 14. If the Colts really want Warren, they might have to explore moving up.

Don’t be surprised if the Commanders go with a wide receiver on the opening night of the draft. Washington also could use help at edge rusher and offensive tackle. Picking at 29, it is difficult to project who will be available, but wide receiver is an option. Terry McLaurin and Deebo Samuel are in the last year of their contracts, and the Commanders would like to add young receiver talent to grow with second-year quarterback Jayden Daniels. Even after acquiring Samuel, wideout is an option for Washington on Thursday night.
