Daniel Carlson, K, Auburn
Height: 6-4. Weight: 218.
Projected Round (2018): 4-6.
4/26/18: Carlson was 23-of-31 in 2017. Two misses came in the 40s, two were in the 50s, and one was in the 30-yard range. He was 4-of-8 in the 50-yard range with a long of 54, where he was good from twice. Carlson has a shot at being a mid-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.
7/24/17: Carlson was 28-of-32 in 2016, including four field goals from over 50 yards away. His long for the year was 53 yards, and he connected from that distance twice. Carlson had a phenomenal season and was 4-of-7 in the 50-yard range and a perfect 6-for-6 in the 40-yard range.
Carlson was 23-for-27 (85 percent) as a sophomore in 2015. He made all 40 of his extra points. Carlson showed his strength with a long field goal of 56 yards. As a freshman, he was 18-of-24 (75 percent). Carlson hasn’t missed an extra point entering his senior year. -
Eddy Pineiro**, K, Florida
Height: 6-0. Weight: 173.
Projected Round (2018): 4-6.
4/26/18: Pineiro was 17-of-18 in 2017. His longest was 50 yards. He has a shot at being a mid-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.
7/24/17: Pineiro has three years of eligibility, but will be a senior in the classroom in 2017 after starting out his collegiate career in the junior college ranks, but not playing football there. He became an internet legend when video of him making a 77-yard field goal went viral.
There was a fierce recruiting war over Pineiro, and he chose Florida over Alabama and Miami. In 2016, Pineiro kicked well for the Gators, connecting on 21-of-25 with long field goals of 54, 53 and 54 yards. Pineiro hit some clutch kicks for an offense that struggled to score points. -
Michael Badgley, K, Miami
Height: 5-10. Weight: 176.
Projected Round (2018): 7-FA.
4/26/18: In 2017, Badgley was 17-for-23 with a long of 50 yards.
7/24/17: In 2016, Badgley was 21-of-26 with a long of 51 yards. Badgley hit on 83 percent of his field goals in 2015 and made all 40 of his extra point attempts. He showed some leg strength with a 57-yard field goal, but was 1-for-3 on attempts over 50 yards. Badgley made 78 percent of his field goals as a freshman in 2014, but did miss four extra points that season. -
Aidan Schneider, K, Oregon
Height: 6-4. Weight: 235.
Projected Round (2018): FA.
4/26/18: Schneider was 9-for-12 in 2017.
7/24/17: In 2016, Schneider was 9-of-12 with a long of 47 yards. He was insanely accurate in 2015, hitting on 92 percent of his field goal attempts. However, he didn’t attempt a kick from 50 yards – or more – out. Schneider was 6-for-6 on his tries from 40-plus yards. Remarkably, he had the same 92 percent rate as a freshman in 2014, hitting 11-of-12 tries. That season, he didn’t attempt a kick from over 50 yards either. If Schneider shows some leg strength for field goals greater than 50 yards, that would help his draft hopes. -
Austin MacGinnis, K, Kentucky
Height: 5-10. Weight: 180.
Projected Round (2018): FA.
4/26/18: MacGinnis was 22-of-28 in 2017 with a long of 50 yards.
7/24/17: MacGinnis kicked well in 2016, hitting on 84 percent of his field goals with a long of 51 yards. As a sophomore, he was 13-for-17 (77 percent) and was 21-of-27 as a freshman (78 percent). -
Matthew McCrane, K, Kansas State
Height: 5-10. Weight: 165.
Projected Round (2018): FA.
4/26/18: McCrane was 21-of-26 with three misses in the 50-yard range and another in the 40-yard range. His long was from 54 yards out. He was 3-of-6 in the 50-yard range and 4-of-5 in the 40-yard range. McCrane has had private workouts with the Saints, Dolphins and Patriots.
7/24/17: McCrane had an impressive freshman debut in 2014, hitting on 18-of-19 (95 percent) field goals. He was seven-for-seven in 2015 and 11-of-14 (79 percent) in 2016. Last year, McCrane’s longest field goal was from 42 yards out, so he will need to show more leg strength to go with his accuracy to help his NFL chances.
