2013 NBA Draft Scouting Report: Ben McLemore
Position: Shooting Guard
Size: 6-5, 195
School: Kansas, Freshman
Strengths:
Weaknesses:
Summary: There aren’t many holes to McLemore’s game, which is why he has emerged as a legitimate candidate for the top overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft. McLemore is a dynamic offensive threat from beyond the arc or using his athleticism at the rim. He has all the tools to be a complete shooting guard at the next level.
Player Comparison: O.J. Mayo. Mayo was highly touted coming out of USC and is a more-than-capable scorer from everywhere on the floor. Mayo is better at creating off the bounce, but McLemore can match his explosiveness at the rim and pure outside shot. I think McLemore has a higher ceiling than what Mayo has shown thus far in the league, but they have a lot of similarities.
