2013 NBA Draft Scouting Report: Willie Cauley-Stein
Position: Center
Size: 7-0, 244
School: Kentucky, Freshman
Strengths:
Weaknesses:
Summary: Cauley-Stein is loaded with all sorts of upside, which for a true seven-footer makes him a lottery pick. He is extremely active on the inside and though not even close to being a complete offensive player and still very much a work in progress, will certainly be one of the first big men off the board.
Player Comparison: JaVale McGee.
McGee has made his presence felt in the middle as a rebounder and rim-protector, and that will be Cauley-Stein’s calling card in the NBA as well. McGee is still fairly limited on the offensive end which can also be said of the Wildcat freshman.
