2014 NBA Draft Scouting Report: Jordan Bachynski
Position: Center
Size: 7-2, 255
School: Arizona State, Senior
Strengths:
Weaknesses:
Summary: Due to his size and ability to protect the rim defensively, Bachynski should get some second-round looks and could potentially be a serviceable backup or third center on an NBA roster. He doesn’t have much versatility to his game, which is a concern for his potential transition to the next level.
Player Comparison: Jeff Withey. A defensive-minded, shot-blocking defensive presence, Withey was a second-round pick last year and was able to carve out a role as a reserve big man during his rookie year. Like the former Jayhawk, Bachynski has the size to hold down the paint defensively but lacks any offensive versatility or tremendous athletic ability.
