Some Teams Have Medical Concerns with Tyson

Since the start of the college football season, Arizona State wide receiver Jordyn Tyson has been among the consensus top receiver prospects for the 2026 NFL Draft. In 2024, Tyson had a breakout season with 75 catches for 1,101 yards with 10 touchdowns. Tyson helped Arizona State reach the College Football Playoff and demonstrated a strong skill set. Tyson is in the running to be the first receiver drafted next April, and the 2026 class does not look especially strong at wideout. However, in speaking with multiple team sources, they said they have some medical concerns included in Tyson’s report.

“It’s not one particular issue or injury,” said an NFC national scout. “He’s just missed time/games every year of his career.”

This season, Tyson totaled 61 catches for 711 yards and eight touchdowns in nine games. Sources say the medical concerns are just general durability, so at least Tyson does not have a knee, back, neck, or head injury that is viewed as limiting his pro career. Tyson is in the mix to be the first wide receiver drafted, as I have projected in my latest 2026 NFL Mock Draft, but his durability concerns could increase the chances that another first-round receiver prospect goes ahead of him.
